No the Alaska they said it was finalized on the devblog and now they are scr**ing with the fire duration.

Fem on NA said it was coming "Soon" but they are probably going to do another round of testing now because of the fire duration change so "Soon" turned out to be a load of BS.

"Soon" in gaming industry means at some point, eventually, somewhere, somehow. Doesn't mean actual soon.

Is there some particular connection between the Poi thing and the new IJN DD, or is it all IJN DDs? The facebook post seems to have attracted an awful lot of Poi references...

This bewildered old git is confused. Again.

Shiratsuyu in the Kantai Collection anime is fond of adding "poi" to her sentences, making them approximations. It's as if you added -ish to your sentences.

The fandom has picked it up and used ever since.

No, Shiratsuyu-class ship Yuudachi is fond of adding "poi". Shiratsuyu herself is just proud to point out that she's the lead ship, thus earning the nickname ichiban. But for poi it is Yuudachi and thus you got a first wave of poi spam when we got Shiratsuyu, to which class she belongs, but with Yuudachi herself announced... oh poi...

Yuudachi was destroyed during the 1st battle of Guadalcanal where she is credited for the destruction of USS Portland. Problem is that this night battle was a mess and it is impossible to be sure that she really gave the killing blow to the US cruiser.

To reflect that, in the KC anime, Yuudachi has the habit of ending each phrase with poi, which means maybe in japanese.

USS Portland wasn't sunk during the WW2. USS Barton is the only DD that was immediately sunk during the First Naval Battle of Guadalcanal by Amatsukaze. Other three DD USN lost during the night were lost due extensive damage suffered from multiple Japanese ships. Even Atlanta was scuttled by crew because she couldn't be repaired or moved to safety before next night fall. Yuudachi is credited with several torpedo hits but she didn't sunk any ship that night.

It was the other way around..... Portland for sure suffered a torpedo hit and got heavy damage though but it was Portland who finished off the damaged Yudachi not the other way. It is not clear which ship's torp hit the US CA. USS Portland CA-33 survived the war, and even got rebuilt after her battle damage.

Edit: Inazuma or Ikazuchi were the likely source of the torp damaging Portland, just looked it up.

Yes, this. There was actual some issues about Yuudachi sinking by Portland. Some suggested that someone from Yuudachi is waving with a white flag but Portland Captain decided to sunk the ship anyway but this is never proven.

So, Alaska and Azuma get their fire duration increased.

Let's see if that goes live and if yes, if the Kronshtadt and Stalingrad get the same treatment (they should, obviously).

Yeah, after half a year or more when they collect enough data.

All battlecruisers should have battleship fire&flooding durations.

And when are they gonna replace battleship Moskva in the USSR tech tree with something that's actually a cruiser?

on high tiers cvs are pretty rare

From my experience not so rare. And especially when this patch goes live there will be A LOT more CV's in games. So there is a space for concern for sure.

And I dont know if those few months old rumors are true about having 2 or even 3 CV's per 1 team side with this rework.

Yap, soon we will know if this is ''yay!'' or a big fat ''nay''. I think this will reduce BB activity in game in a big way.

Wait, isn't that bomb drop circle basically the same as the USN one except with more initial spread which will never matter anyway considering how long you can hold the dive?

Aka extremely accurate, being smaller than a small BB is wide, with even more bombs to boot?

Welp, guess I'll refund the entire IJN line for RN CVs. :Smile_trollface:

I second this, the really stupid part would be if they manage to power creep a new line while doing the rework and have a perfect blank paper to balance carriers on...

RN bomber animation is better than other nations, more like rocket armed planes one than dive bombers one. That's why I said RN CV is easy mode compared to other nations CVs. The only downside is that all their squads have max 9 planes.

I heard that in 0.8.0 they might undo the way the concealment penalty for firing goes away after 3 seconds when there is no line of sight to the enemy that they introduced a while ago. Can anyone tell me please that this isn't true?

It has been posted on reddit :

You can see that if you break line of sight for 3 seconds, your detection range returns equal to your gun range when line of sight is restored.
