Do you really want all future CVs to be slightly modified Shokaku clones? That's basically what Fara proposed and I don't want that, I'd actually like for WG to bring out something new and interesting for CVs in the future instead. The fact that they are actually trying something different shows they actually care about CVs in this game more than people credit then for, otherwise they'd just do Shokaku variations and be done with it.

that depends weather you want

diffrent cv's which are comepetetive on the highest lvl

or

some gimmicky crap that does only work cause ist so overtuned that it is OP.....

(difrend here means as diffrent as balancing alows which would probably be not much diffrent  when compared to "gimicky"  CV's like saipan or kaga)

I don't care as long as the ship is fun to play and requires skill to be piloted. Wether that means it will be good or bad for """competitive""" is another story.

Or was the issue that someone is still playing cruisers trying to burn down BBs and that must be corrected? :Smile-_tongue:

What about you playing a cruiser instead of spending 94% of your 6k matches with sealclubbing in the Gremyashchy, actively trying to drive newbies off?

I don't play CV's so I don't particularly care either way.

You'll note in my quoted post i said 'If' - (the 'when' was part of the hyperbole i mentioned)  - though Brit BB's (particularly Orion) atm....

My objection isn't to them trying something new or even the sometimes 'questionable', lets say, consequences of that.

It's to their (imho) awful business practises and the (again imo) lies *or half-truths* if you prefer used to cover it up.

I guess the problem is that CV are all about the planes so there's really not that many things you can do with them, they're either good at strike or good at air superiority, but that's already in the game so anything new is always going to be a clone of something.

You mean the joys of being a whale and throwing money at WG every time you see a prem ship! :P

The old Gnewny at T5 was already pretty strong, there is a reason why I managed to do over 60% and 56k DPG despite the horrible turret traverse and a 2 point captain. The Gremyashchy is OP, starting with the doubled torpedo range in comparison to the old Gnevny, the better HE shell and the better maneuverability, add a high tier captain on that for more range, fire chance, better concealment, better RoF, bettet turret traverse .............. et voila, the perfect ship to club some seals.

I am quite sure this desire, while historically present, is currently dwindling.

And yeah, I know, it's a nice ship :Smile_glasses:

Sure, but I also absolutely do not trust WG to get (CV) premium balancing right (looking at you Saipan and Kaga) and I'd rather have a 'boring' but balanced Graf Zep than a brokenly OP Graf Zeppelin that will never get nerfed because it is premium and will forever ruin T8.

The fact that we went from Kaga to Enterprise and then to the current state of Graf Zeppelin makes me believe they don't want that.

8K is a lot. But i too did around 100 games in Orlan and 130 in Hermelin because they were just fun... till they stripped them off of AP.

with that opinion you will always end up in an environment where 1 CV is clearly the best and if you want to win there is no  reason to play another CV....

no I don't.  But I do want US and IJN carriers to be balanced and to perform roughly equally.  unfortunately at the moment regular IJN CV's all out perform the USN regular CV's by a distance.  What the US CV's need is flexibility and lower servicing times

Fara wants a competitive game where he can choose which carrier suits him the best for a given match up / map.

Instead WG wants to give him another gimmicky CV which will work in randoms because plebs, but has no spot in competitive as the 'gimmicky' things are always something which can be countered.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could see competitive games and see more as one nation's carriers being actually considered?

Pick one and only one. You should know already than any semblance of true competition in this game was dispelled long time ago and for it to be again you'd need to change how halve the game works, CVs being the last part to be changed.

Honestly, I don't want new and interesting ideas to be shelved just because it doesn't fit """"competitive"""" gameplay.

C'mon, we all knew it was just going to be a matter of time. It should hardly surprise anyone.
