I normally don't comment on hidden profiles whining about the game, but I'll make an exception.

+-2 is perfectly fine, this isn't WoT..

:great:

Did a big bad BattleBoat touch you when showing a broadside? :(

They are nasty those BB's. :(

I liked it when it was +3.

Hmm, +3 ? Play this for quite some time and cant remember +3

The +2 is easy mode since you can damage everything even when beeing LowBob. Unlike WoT where a -2 has hard time getting any damage done.

Its nothing wrong with the MM system, the playerbase is broken since they refuse to use brain.exe together with the well hated WASD-h4x.

I don't have a problem with +/-2 tier MM, provided the actual matches are fairly evenly distributed within that range. For whatever reason, however, certain tiers (or maybe just certain ships within those tiers) have absolute crazy MM. For example, the new Furutaka is in my experience almost always in Tier 6 and Tier 7 matches. I noticed something similar with New Mexico and Kirov, both of which I'm currently grinding. It seems T5 and T6 ships are lately getting into some rather unfavorable match-ups. At the same time, I played hundreds of games in T7s and T8s and I only had a handful of T8 and T9 matches, respectively. To be more specific, in my 80+ matches in Mogami, I don't believe I saw more than 2 or 3 Yamatos. Even Iowas, Ibukis, and Fletchers are pretty rare.

I find this hilarious.

In this game you can actually damage and damaged reliably ships that are as many numbers as you would like to add here above your teir. In sort any ship can damage any ship. Yes it's more favoured to the higher tier ship to win the fight but it's possible to defeat ships 2 or 3 tiers higher than you in world or warships.

Let's then look at something like world of tanks

In most cases here if a enemy is 1 or 2 tiers higher than you you literally cannot damages them. At all...... Can't penetrate there armour and then they delete you.

Not the case at all in world of warships, higher tier does not mean impervious to lower tiers like it does it world of tanks.

In fact I often have the most fun here in world of warships when fighting agenst higher tier ships than myself and winning. Try that in WOT and then come back and moan again about world of warships MM

I had 1 of my best (for the time) Colorado games back when it was +3, in a T10 game. I could just keep hitting them while they ignored me and showed me their broadside, Montana, NC, Izumo. It was glorious!

+-2 in WoT is debatable nowadays. +-2 in WoWs on the other hand is good. Brings out the right amount of challenge as a bottom tier ship, but you are not God Almighty as a top tier ship.

This might sound odd, but I LIKE being 2 tiers lower.

As bottom tier I get 3 advantages;

-More xp: you get bonus xp for damaging higher tier ships. If I'm bottom then it's all bonus.

-Ignored more. As long as I don't make myself the most inviting target, I usually get ignored in favour of something more threatening.

-No expectations of me. If I'm bottom tier no one cares if I derp a bit, being top tier means people expect you to carry. Being bottom tier people's only expectation is that you don't immediately die. Therefore If you win and come top (see point one) people think you're awesome. If you die with no kills to the enemy top BB then people don't really expect you to survive so no complaints are sent your way.

I definitely prefer being top tier but being on the bottom is by no means a disaster. In fact, it tends to matter mostly in engagements within the same ship class - a DD can still torp a BB, a BB can still obliterate a CA with a couple of citadels (possibly easier if he positions well because CAs angle against the greatest threat and you - being undertiered - are rarely that), CAs can still bombard the living sh*t out of DDs and set BBs on fire.

When you end up in a ship that has similar strengths and weaknesses as yours and the enemy simply has stronger strengths and/or less pronounced weaknesses, then you indeed are at significant disadvantage. The games, however, tend to be varied enough that you can find plenty of targets to engage without the tier number really making that great of a difference, especially since you probably won't be fighting alone but rather as part of a bigger fleet (well, if you're a non-DD low-tier and you go alone anywhere then yes, you die without doing much. But it's hardly the game's fault that you do something that would be pretty reckless - to say the least - even as top tier).

I hope you won't have to do that long, as you're probably accumulating plenty of AFK/BOT reports and will soon be banned :great:

My most glorious moment was killing a Fuso with a St Louis ( yes, I was in a +-1 division :hiding: ). He just ignored me, until I started to get more and more fires going on him and eventually he just had no heal or repair available and I got an arsonist ribbon. Feels good beating the odds :great:

Off course, that doesn't mean I would think St Louis should go 1v1 Fuso's whenever they meet them, but this +-2 MM spread is not the problem.

For me my most glorious moment was the first time I manage to kill a tier 6 ship (a new mexico) in my Orlan (was teamed up with a izyaslav) it was right at the end of the match and I was the only one near him, I kept shooting over the edge of the island and manage to set fires until he burnt out, took off maybe the last 10k health or so mainly through setting fires.

What really matters when you are bottom tier is that you realize your weaknesses and avoid them while playing a slightly more careful game than a top tier ship. Honestly just support your team mates and maybe focus on the softer targets and you can do really great.
