Is it just me or is Tirpitz much more handsome?

No, I agree as well.

Am I the only person hyped for Konig Albert instead?

I hope the supertesters are actually playing her.

Certainly!

The type 59 was nerfed a number of times to hell and back. I was one of the original owners when it first came out. It's only a shadow of it's former self so don't get all 'they don't nerf premiums'. They defintiely do.

Make no mistake: the policy of balancing prems is different between the two games. The standard principle there is to have prems be a bit under the line, while here it doesn't matter if they are below, on or over the line.

I do miss the Deutschland class, hope they find a way to fit that one in.

I have one book on battleships where they are mysteriously not included either..

Kinda feel sorry for them..

Graf Spee as a premium.

'Nuff said.

Kind of hopeful we get at least one of them next week.

Maybe they aren't included beacuse they aren't battleships?

Well, IMHO, the Deutschland class shouldn't be in the tree because...well...they are oddball ships!

  • They are armored like a heavy cruiser, but can be penned by 6" shells (as happened on the battle of River Plate).
  • They have BB size guns, but not a whole lot of them (only 6 280mm rifles)
  • And to top it off they are relatively slow!

So, their guns are too big and they're too slow to be a "proper" CA in game terms.

But they are also too fragile and too lightly armed to be considered a BB!

The only way I would see them implemented ingame is as a premium CA, but do not expect them to be OMGWTFPWN prems!

Well just going by it's designaion, if the Deutschland-class ever comes it will be as CA.

But then again, I would not really see a problem with her as a T5 or T6 "BB" where armor isn't that great anyway (well except for the US, but that's the US ...), I mean even though she lacks armor she still does have 2/3 of Scharnhorsts main battery fire-power.

Well, scaring the population with made up "facts" and terrifying names is a good way to rally support for your war machine. :) And they did sink HMS Glorious (which was party because the Brits acted in a completely stupid way), so they should be terrifyingly ugly!

Well, even at that tier the BBs have 300mm+ armor and 14" guns (or bigger), so she would be completely outclassed at that tier. :S

amusingly by realistic penetration standards (and good hit degree) the Scharns guns would pen the Nagato at 15 km

so they should be terrifyingly ugly!

they could also call the most beautiful woman on the world "ugly" and it wouldnt make it the truth :P Scharnhorst and Gneisenau are among hte most beautiful Ships ever built

Well as JeeWeeJ has written they sunk the HMS Glorious, so they did something bad to the Brits and therfore they just have gone freely after "they did something bad to us, let's insult the ships for that" ... or something like that.

For me though the Scharnhorst-class brought us very beautiful and glorious (see what I did there ) ships.

I played on the same team as Devanejah yesterday in my Warspite, and the Scharnhorst seemed to perform well, but not overpowered. When played to its strength and in the right circumstances it will be a beast, but other BBs at the tier can outdamage it as well. It seemed like a good brawler. My Warspite certainly could match the damage atleast. :)

Actually, coop between Warspite and Scharnhorst seemed to go pretty well, since both are tough and maneuverable, and guns are at their strength at brawling distance.

My friend have the replay, I can see if I can post it later at my pc.

WG don't nerf premiums once they are sold. If a prem is OP they just don't sell it anymore.

See: Type 59, Emperor Nikolai, Gremyashchy....

Type59 was not nerfed? Really? And Roman Empire still dominate the Mediterranean?

Oh dear.

Thank you!

It was a pleasure fighting alongside with you! Nice to see the Scharnhorst in action, one of my absolute favorite warships!

Intense focus fire when everyone wanted to "test" the armor, tried to draw some of the fire away. Did some nice hits on the enemy as well, punishing broadside cruisers and BBs.

The replay can be found here, together with the score screenshots:

was a good battle really! Dynamic and close up, atleast to my nearsighted guns! :)

Something interesting : https://thearmoredpatrol.com/2016/07/12/the-german-dark-science-scharnhorst-in-world-of-warships-review/

Part with is more interesting "excellent dispersion" this does not fits what was said on other threads and movie posted on Youtube.

I guess we gona need to stop speculating and wait for final stats and revire.. untill that time.. cross fingers!

Sigma 2.0 sounds nice. Especially since it was stated in another topic (the one by Darth_Glorious about the German BB tech tree) that all German BBs have sigma 1.8, except for König (though the German premiums aren't mentioned in the post, and it's possible I applied that sigma to them by mistake).

True, but in the same post was mentioned that accuracy is bad even on 7 kilometers.. meaby tests were done on three servers with different set of parameters..

Question is if ship willl not get silent sigma nerf just a second before release...

Mhm. I've no intention of buying it on the first day it's released, I'll wait for people to review it.

Edit: seems the premium Germans are up on the official wiki.

A part of me thinks the Tirpitz maybe the best German BB out there...

It has very few weaknesses apart from slightly poor AA, I don't subscribe to the stance that it's guns are weak.

Scharnhost will probably be great to play but it'll likely be weak vs BB that are higher tier than it.

I don't feel a well played Tirp is ever that badly out matched.

I love my Tirpitz, of course its the best German BB  out there because at the moment its the only one (if you're not a supertester) I probably will buy Scharnhorst so long as its not too expensive or in a way overpriced bundle. but I'm really looking forward to playing through the tech tree and want my Bismarck. I have skinned my Scharnhorst already so it looks good even without the camo on.

I mean that the Tirp may still stand as the best German BB once all are released. If I had to build a BB that wasn't "too" op it probably wouldn't be too far from what the Tirp is now. The way it plays is a joy to anyone who plays BB.
