How long until we get the British FLEET?

I've been a player since the Open Beta started and only recently have you seen fit to add two British ships............which HAVE TO BE PURCHASED before you can use them. Not happy that ONE of the MAJOR naval fleets has been essentially ignored, bar paying for the joy of using two ships.

Meanwhile in WG headquarters:

"Another player wants British ships. Should we publish them?"

*:red_button: button to delay British ships 6 months more*

Profit

As soon as they stop being distracted with other lines. The moment they announce the RN cruisers will be the next line, there's a major undertaking in the WG offices to urgently find another line they can make first. Once the German battleships are released, they will likely announce the RN cruisers will be next, then change their mind in a few months and instead make the German destroyers instead.

Some time ago there was a post by a WG dev here telling that they have scrapped the RN completely. Sorry mate.

We recently found out that the real reason they didn't come any sooner is that British archives are complete garbage, and getting detailed plans is a grueling experience.

Recently? Warspite is here for quite a long time.

To your question:

Depends on what you understand under "get the british fleet". The introduction of all lines will take a least another two years.

The first line will probably get here end of this year as should be known to you if you are here since open beta!

If the archives are so crap and access to the blueprints so difficult to get how is it that we have had Warspite since closed beta?  I'm more inclined to believe that there is another reason for the delay, perhaps the fact that creating and balancing the RN might have been a more difficult task than WG originally thought, alternatively there is the possibility that WG wasn't too good at liaising with the archives as to meetings etc.......kind of like how their communication with the EU playerbase is shockingly bad.

Considering it's far from the first time someone has had a lot of problems accessing British archives no, it's not hard to believe.

Or, rather, they are unable to "find" anything they want in those archives. It is not as easy to explain why there would be randon drawings on British ships in Russian archives, and I guess that is the real problem here...

There's an excellent book from the Anantomy of the ship serie about the Warspite, and another about the Campbletown: spend about 50 bucks on Ebay or Amazon and you get all you need to design a 3D model of them.

Now good luck researching, say, a County class asking the NMM for some plans. The archives are there, open and easy to access. But the prices being asked for reproductions are a bit steep to say the least.

I'd say more along the lines of absurd paranoia. The reason it's so dificult getting info on british things is because we're afraid of russian game developers finding details of our no longer in service equipment and selling it to the russian government (obvs sarcasm but what the hell britain)

All this about archives is just nonsense anyways, if they had decided to implement British ships first they would have gotten the drawings they needed. The decision was to implement Russian ships first, and that had nothing to do with any "archives".

Yes the point about archives is nonsense, I heard a completely different story which I cannot divulge. In any case it is known the the RN Cruisers are due by the end of September.

Archives claim sounds extremely silly as this game is not so excessively historically accurate anyway. Pretty sure that there is plenty of good literature available on British ships even without visiting archives.

Its more to do with the archives are in an active naval base! Its difficult to get access! Probably find he resant input to Portsmouth  historical dockyard was to ease access
