murmansk is a lot better than omaha. period

Apart from being RU (less ships to train the captain for), it's just better.

 

I forget how exactly but it just out performs the other Omaha class ships. 

 

I paid full price for it a long time ago

The musrmansk used to bee clearly superior to the Omaha, until they buffed the omaha.

 

Now its only better than the omaha ;)

 

It still has longer torpedo range (8 instead of 5,5 km) better rudder shift (3,8 instadt of 5,7),  and gets a spotter plane

 

Edit.: Forgot the murmansk also has better sae concealment but worse air concealment

Definitely.If you like the playstyle, you get a ship with superiour maneuverability and the best credit income.

Get it. Apart from the fun factor it is my best performing ship bar none. Cheap, fun says it all.

They didnt. You cant citadel a Murmansk with Omaha AP plunging down on the deck, but you can vice versa.

au contraire! The Omaha and the Murmansk used to be played with different hulls: Omaha B + AFT and Murmansk which is a Omaha C.

 

So since only the Omaha C is viable without AFT, Omaha got a really hefty nerf "recently" while Murmansk was left undisturbed with better torps, better ruddershift and turning radius and better AP - which is also damn important since WG made HE useless around October last year.

 

All that, while advantages on Omaha side are hardly there - p2w at its finest! Like ....... dunno the fighter plane instead of spotter plane? (So if I put the float-fighter on my Amagi voluntarily  can I get Yama pen on her guns? ), like 200 m better concealment from planes only? ..... that sort of things ....

 

 

 

......... but yeah I am contemplating myself and I do blame Live for it.

Is it worth it? Yes! I would buy it if it costs double the price its regularly costs.

Why?

1. Murmansk is one of the most OP ship in the game for its tiers.

2. Murmansk or McMurder as i like to call her Citadels every cruiser up to tier 7.

3. Murmansk can burn down any full health BB in its tiers while taking minimum damage.

4. Murmansk will (when you learned to master her) pull out the Daily Kraken about 2-3-4 times a week without a sweat.

5. Murmansk has great torps!

6. Murmansk are build to engage and kill multible DDs at a time (guns all over the hull, great ROF and Acustic)

7. Murmansk can launch spotterplane and start burning down BBs over islands that not even left their spawn area yet, without them even been able to see you.

8. Murmansk is extreme at setting fires. Count on atleast 30-50k free damage each round in fires.

9. Murmanskis a money printing press. It just pukes out money at you.

10. Murmansk is one of a few cruisers ingame that can shoot of a full broadside of shells while just showing the bow towards the enemy, in other words, taking minimum risks.(Murmansk has 6 turrets facing forward! ! !) Use this, youre range and W+S hacks and a BB at range cant touch you while you are burning him down.

11. Murmansk is one of the most fun ships to play in the game (see points 1-10)

 

You only need to fear 2 things. Enemy dive bombers (Murmansk has pitifull AA) and getting focused by multiple ships (but this is same for every cruiser) but since you will use smarts and range this wont be a problem at all.

If Murmansk interests you mainly for the credit income...........its decent for that.

But if you think you  are gonna easily farm credits to fund the purchasing price of tier 8-9 ships, think again.

I actually wouldnt think again since its just this my Murmansk done for me and im at Shimakaze, Hindenburg, Zao, Khabarovsk, Fletcher at the moment. Is Murmansk Fort Knox? Of course not! Did it finance all those ships for me? Of course not! It also got help from my Tirpitz, my Atago, my Kutuzov, my Blyskawica and my Kamikaze. But most of those ships are higher tiers and then their is a completely different meta and skills that are needed for good earnings.

With Murmansk you will pretty much be guaranteed a steady good income at 400-600k credits a game and it will get you that T8-9 ship faster and in a more funnier way than trying to grind those credits in high tiers.

 

All tho you need to give Murmansk some time. those games wont come automatically and fast. It probably took me up to 6 month playing Murmansk to really reach its full potential, but when you do? OMG!

There is Kirov which gets citadeled by HE and then theres Königsberg which outright detonates ....... on t5 alone.
