The point is, the german navy did have a philosophy of using triple turrets, that is clear. To state it was the german design philosophy to have double gun turrets on BB's when they only built one class is funny. Who knows what they would have designed in the later years of WW2, as a response to allied designs, had they had the capability and urge to do so. H39, H40a, H40b, H41, H42.........all with double-gun-turrets there is also a historical document of the Kriegsmarine, showing in historical wording that the germans preffered such guns (user Thoddyx posted pictures of this document). so its their philosophy for battleships Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Actually it seems they won't: The following ships are now available in the game client for testing by developers and supertesters: Krasny Krym, Scharnhorst, Koenig Albert, Kaiser, Flint, and Black. These ships are not available for purchase and research, but players may encounter them in battle. From the 0.5.8 patch notes. Not a single german non-premium BB in that list. WGN fantasy-enthusiasts are raping her with tripple-gun turrets......1 billion yards away of any historical context, including german design philosophy for BBs ...... and why ? because of balancing ? why doesnt WGN buff the historically planned 4x2 setup with better RoF, dispersion ? they have completely replaced the planned gunnery by a poor fantasy setup, that is in radical contrast to the german bettleship design philosophy. No single german H-class BB was ever planned with guns like these. And the germans always followed the 4x2 setup, because it was their philosophy. even Scharnhorst was only mounted with smaller 3x11" because the 2x15" werent rdy.. so ,pls WGN, dont tell me that u had no other choice because of balancing, there are so many "soft stats" u could have used to balance the guns for T10 thats just a shame I just wonder why WG is toying with the community by giving this teaser but hiding basic ship stats? Not even necessary to call it a joke. Pessimism is a bit of a national trait. Germans always find a reason to complain. A german invented philosophical pessimism (then again, it was also a German who invented philosophical optimism, we're ambivalent like that!). For example, Germany has one of the best, if not THE best railroad system in Europe. Strictly organized, typically well maintained, etc.pp.! But if you ask a German about the trains, chance is you'll hear him complaining about trains always running late. Complaining is a national pastime in Germany and we've become very, very good at it! We also love explaining things. Especially when we can explain how we complain. That's like two of our favourite things in one package! You just made a very happy German!!! A ship line doesn't have to go all the way to tier X (some don't start at Tier 1 like CVs and BBs). Why do we need fantasy ships at high tiers? The only thing that bugs me is the exlcusion of Hutten & Berlichingen for the tier 10, but it is only minor. The T10 with triples does move beyond the design specification though. Fantasy = Roon, Hindenburg and Zao. Zao being a post-war dream-up cruiser, and Roon and Hindenburg being Lesta's hypothetical designs. Both the German BB end ships are in the realm of Montana, Phoenix, Amagi and Myogi. Hardly a new thing. In fact Friedrich der Grosse is in fact more real than Montana since two H39 hulls were laid down, Montana never got that far (before she was laid down her hull design was appropriated for the Midway class carriers). The model that Zao uses was published in the 1970s in a Japanese magazine with the explicit note that it was an artist's impression of what the design process could have resulted in. You made a thread with a poll and the overwhelming majority do not agree with you. In addition, WG staff posted explaining very clearly why paper upgrades were necessary.
