DDs STILL too dominant in ranked. Stop it.

WG did not listen. Make some caps cappable only by cruisers or BBs. Destroyers are just too important because only they can cap without being spotted and focused down.. And by destroyers I mean gunboats, because with so many DDs ofcourse you are gonna pick a gunboat and not an IJN DD. Also, with their nerfed torps, i see no reason for higher tiered IJN DDs to have their guns tweaked a bit.

should add a NPC base in the center with strong weapons to encorage stronger ships to cap it rather than DDs.

bbs and CAs could take it out quick with there decent AP shells but DDs would simply bounce off it.

 

DDs would still have the north and south caps like currently to cap as normal

That would skew the balance in normal battles. The problem is in ranked mostly.

Had to switch to Kiev.

As long as there are 3-cap maps like Shatter and as long as gunship DDs are the best counter to enemy DDs (no cruiser radar at tier7, except for Indiana) ranked gameplay will be heavily in favor of DDs.

Hope that Wargaming will see this problem soon. I bet that Błyskawica sales are going nice for them though. :coin:

 And why wouldnt  BBs take it out at 20-17 Km and DDs then still cap it?

Atleast limit DDs to 3 per team in ranked.

 

If there are 4 per team, there are smokes everywhere, nothing to see, nothing to shoot at, noone can spot a.. not fun. Especially frustrating in BB, as you see nothing if enemy lays smokes "better" (DD captains like to smoke the moment they are spotted, even when in no real danger..) you are under spam of invisible fires, citadels and occasionally torpedos whole game.

80% of the queue (Tier V/VI) consists of BBs, naturally that cruisers have a hard time and DDs have a field day. But that is not the DDs fault.

As long as there are so many people playing BBs and Cruisers that pussy away at the first sighting of an enemy DD, the DDs will rule supreme.

There is no such thing. I have seen matches with 3 BBs aplenty and if i recall correctly i have seen one with 4.

MM starts to ignore its rules once people wait over 5 minutes, so you can see more than 2 BBs per side in ranked, but it's rare.

Exactly, OP, stop whining. I havent been in a Ranked battle yet that had more than 2 DDs on each side. This usualy results in one to each cap point and one of them finding out the hard way that the enemy team are all going for his. This usualy results in each side loosing a DD in the first part of the battle leaving just one per side, yea, SO dominant!

After rank 15 i mostly play Saipan. So far nothing more rewarding for me then a team full of DDs :popcorn:

Never played ranked. But it would be nice that spotterplanes could be directed to a certain point on the map instead of flying circles around the ship. Yes as long you don't give them a point to circle they should circle your ship. But the moment you give them a point  (I would limit the max distance) they should go spotting on that point (and only 1 point each time). This would be a beautiful countermeasure against hidden DD's. And it's not absolute because you only have 2 to 3 airplanes and a long time limit.

​That's team battles you are thinking of.

 

From original ranked battles release notes:

 

"

All you need to do is pick a ship, select “Ranked Battles”, and join the Battle! Ranked Battles are slightly different from their standard counterparts: each team can have no more than 7 players, and the maximum number of aircraft carriers and battleships is limited to one and two respectively."

Thats why i completely raped everything with Kirov. But aside from that, its pretty much BB BB CA DD DD DD DD in every team i get into in second.

Sorry but no DD in the game can get into those mini capzones without the risk of getting spotted, And when you are spotted you are almost ontop of the enemy DD or in worst cases the enemy 2-3 DDs and you will get focused by atleast 4-5 ships i matter of seconds. So you think DDs has a unfair advantage in ranked? Try and go play some youreself! Im above average and still ranked is russian roulette for me if i have a good game or if im killed first 2 minutes. And as a DD in ranked i really dont have the option of hanging back and hide behind cover as CA´s and BB´s do and usually are.

I play BB normally and it's why I started playing but I simply refuse to use them in Ranked.

 

DD are the best choice for Ranked, they stand the highest chance of coming top so don't lose a star. As long as you cap a few times and do reasonable damage.

 

I've got a Myoko but being smashed by a BB at 15km doesn't inspire me to use it in Ranked. Also have a Nagato ready but when the supply of cruisers dry up then you're just a target. I've seen others with the Jolly Roger using the Nagato so BB must be viable...

 

It's Blys all the way here. Escaped the lower ranks with Kami R. Only issue for me is whether I grind/free XP a Kiev as that thing feels op in Ranked.

 

I don't begrudge the change of pace at all. Ranked tends to be more urgent than camping Random Battles.
