To Make Karma Great Again you need only two simple steps:

1. Make negative karma visible.

2. Make it so I can see what I did to the guy that awarded me with that a particular 'minus'.

(for example: You have been reported for [being a bot] by a player who you [torpedoed] & [sunk])

Like seriously, I currently have something like +28 karma and probably three times as much of negative karma. At least let me enjoy bathing in the salty tears of my butthurt opponents.

There is no such thing as negative Karma. For every compliment you get +1 Karma and for every report except for playing badly you get -1 Karma. However, the total Karma can't go to a value below 0.

Great Again? Was karma ever great in the first place?

Don't think about this too deeply.

That's why I have +28, and not +100.

Yea negative karma score doesn't exist - you can get negative reports against you but once your total sits at 0 it will go down no further.

I once got mine to 6 but then it went back to 0.  It has been at 1 for over a month and then the other night it went to 2 so recently it has been relatively stable.  That being said I only check it about once a week so it might move around more than I see.

Players with good karma for a period of time should be rewarded. Blue names, cool flags, credits and ingame flag rewards too. Encourage good manners damn it.

I would prefer removing the karma. it is entirely pointless. And making it not pointless would seriously hurt the game, butthurt reports are real.

Once i got 18 (!) reports for being top in battle.

I got +2 Karma only for helping with a nice team even if in the end we lost and didn't sink anyone, then back to 0 when 3/4 reported me, by those "you cheater!" for winning a battle with 4 sinks or so... The Karma thingie ain't working, ignore it

That is outweighted by compliments. Sometimes i swear ingame but i generally perform well and i have 27 karma.

And once you reach -500 Karma you'll get awarded with a Kitakami for all the glorious TKs  /s

Anyway: If karma stays in its current meta I only like to see, why I was reported or complimented! Nothing more! And although my karma is kinda nice, I wouldn't mind if it got removed, as it serves no purpose right now.

Greetings

it serves the purpose of not having xxx supports tickets written daily. this way player who did reporting thinks he actually sanctioned another player in some meaningful way.

If Karma were tears, the ocean level would rise in this game. I actually went up to 7 karma but again those karma tears dripped back down. So much sadness in this game when you do good or sink someone.

I only gain Karma points when i am chat-banned. Then i burn through them until the next chat-ban.

last 2 reports I've got were because I'm aimbotting...

First by a nurnberg sailing backwards 12km away from me (ok, hes t6 he will learn... probably... maybe... yea, probably not...)
Today by a Baltimore sailing 13km away from me in a straight line (killed him in amagi... but god damn, hes t9, how the hell didn't he learn this things yet)...
and then spithas says my aim sucks...

I got 0 karma and it would probably be -300 if that would be possible. But nobody wants negative rep farmers in the game I guess.

It's just a way of letting players vent a bit and preventing them from posting silly stuff on the forums.

I only report confirmed bots (= very rarely), much more often I'll hand out compliments.
