[FTR] Krizmuz Players 780 posts 24,232 battles Report post #1 Posted June 2, 2016 suggestion: Introduce different tones of pink in order to visualize how often a person has been teamkilling, Make the differentiation between unlucky folks who misplaced a shot and malicious teamkillers. The darker the pink gets, the more often you have teamkilled in your career, the more battles it takes to get back to normal.

[MORIA] Durin_VI Players 375 posts 50,008 battles Report post #4 Posted June 2, 2016 Since I got several warnings in chat, in pink text, about firing at allies I really don't care about pink anymore. What happened in my case, several times, is this; I am in a BB and trying to fight off a nearby DD. An ally comes in to help me but places himself roughly between me and the enemy and then gets hit by my secondaries (not by my main guns because they were reloading). This triggers the pink warning and if my secondaries would deliver a final killing hit I would likely turn pink even though I basically have no control over what happened. It would be nice to see a difference between damage/kill caused by primary or secondary armament but I guess Wow sees damage/kills for what it is; damage/kills
[NED] piet11111 Players 2,225 posts 8,827 battles Report post #5 Posted June 2, 2016 I remember the first time i turned pink i was in the schorsh and had an enemy american cruiser very very close by so i fired my 4km range torpedo's at him. Turned out a friendly dd decided to come up from behind me to swoop in and torp that cruiser too instead he ate my torps. I know i should have been more aware but i had an enemy right up to my face demanding my full attention.
Lin3 Players 746 posts Report post #6 Posted June 2, 2016 Christian Pink sneaked up behind me and rammed his torpedo right into my aft when I was least expecting it. Oh my... ..."Why do you feel the need to spank me?" I asked. "It's because that's the way that I am. I'm 50 shades of ****** up"
[NLD2] mel1111 Players 226 posts 21,307 battles Report post #7 Posted June 3, 2016 (edited) The team killer criteria stink. I got a team killer status, because another player decided to start moving backwards with his ship AFTER I had already launched my torps. First the other player gets a warning there are torps in the water and still decides to move without looking around. I do not see this as my fault and I therefore would like to make a case to amend the criteria. Given this is an automated system it should not be too difficult. It would probably lessen the number of pink players, because a lot of these team killings do not happen because of the person launching torps is not careful enough, but very often because his "team" mates decide to make a stupid move. So in short the criteria are not fair also look at the post of Piet11111, basically the same Edited June 3, 2016 by mel1111
[FO] Todger_Fairmile Players 494 posts 17,579 battles Report post #8 Posted June 3, 2016 There is also the fact that in co-op even the bots occasionally kill each other. If the bots have accidents, people should be cut a little more slack.

So in short the criteria are not fair also look at the post of Piet11111, basically the same No. You fire the torpedos, your responsibility. It's simple to grasp. Don't fire from second line. You had to have done that for a ship to stop and then reverse into your torps. They don't stop on a dime. You would've gotten a similar result if the guy had turned full to one side and did a 180 degree turn. Torpedo fail is torpedo fail. That said, Pink is applied far too easily. Stuff like secondaries shouldn't count anywhere near as much. Getting warnings because your BB's secondaries are hitting that other friendly BB hugging the enemy ship is more than a bit lame.
Venatacia Beta Tester 872 posts 5,885 battles Report post #10 Posted June 4, 2016 The team killing system is awful at the moment. It's now way to easy to be a team killer. One unlucky torpedo can sink a friendly cruiser who's not paying attention if he decides the front line is a better place to be than a DD battle ground. So I became pink for 5/6 battles for one accidental team kill, man you would think I was a serial team killer. Seriously 2 team kills in 1700+ battles, that's not bad. Now I know why there is a pink player in almost every battle now. You can't tell who is accidental and who is the real serial team killers now.

Zed_Von_Toza Players 326 posts 1,155 battles Report post #12 Posted June 4, 2016 Alternatively, leave the colour alone and give them a new 'Friendly Fire' battle achievement as a permanent mark on their profile, One or two in 1700 battles is just an unfortunate friendly fire incident. Repeated offended is a serial killer.

I think WG are trying to make people think about what they are doing. Ease the criteria for team killing and make it a battle achievement as a permanent mark on their service record (as in real life).. But issue in game warnings along the way before giving a team killer status so the player at least has the chance to 'modify their behaviour/play style'. Something like a three strikes and you are out scenario Edited June 4, 2016 by Zed_Von_Toza

[TACHA] triumphgt6 Players 1,870 posts 22,637 battles Report post #17 Posted June 4, 2016 Have been pink once - my fault - aimed torps at enemy coming round island and team mate in front of me decided to change direction after I launched - hit him and he flooded eventually to death - did also get enemy and had warned that I was launching but still my fault. However I challenge anyone not to get warned when driving a Mikasa aggressively! The way it flings secondaries around, the list of friendlies hit can be astounding! Never been pink because of that but lots of warnings!

[NLD2] mel1111 Players 226 posts 21,307 battles Report post #20 Posted June 4, 2016 (edited) if the mods are keeping this system, there will come a day, that every member of a team is pink. I was just in a team with 3 pinkies, so what is that doing to anybody? Nothing So as is I am not taking this system serious anymore and neither do a lot of players. If you purposefull kill a team mate I think your account should be deleted. If it happens in a battle without any intend, maybe the 3 strikes is out for a week may be a good solution, but going on like it is now makes no sense whatsoever Edited June 4, 2016 by mel1111
[IRQ] AnotherDuck [IRQ] Players 2,930 posts 7,510 battles Report post #21 Posted June 4, 2016 I don't have a problem with the current system. But then, I pay attention before I fire my torps. Did see a teamkiller Kamikaze yesterday without the actual killing. Wasn't pink at the time, but took half the health off of one of our cruisers at the start of the match. There is nothing unlucky when you hit ally with torpedo. It is either deliberate team damage or very poor skill and situational awareness... both which deserve player to be flagged pink. Even better would be pink status AND 24h freeze on the ship in question. Repeat offence would yield account ban for 24h.
