Sunday potato teams with borked MM flavor...

I don't mind a potato team now and then, but today and on Sundays in general seems like it is best to stop playing all together. The stuff I saw people do today tops everything I saw before in my whole WOWS experience.

Last 3 games were in Des Moines, first we lost literary in last few seconds and I am not complaining about that. The second two we had such a horrible MM that the other team felt bad. Usually 1 Montana on our side with 1 on their coupled with 2 Yamas (no BB was a part of a division). To top it off, a DD miss-match as well. Two bloody times in a row!

But, the thing that beats it all was a CV driver from a 4 CV game. We were both in Taihos. Except that he was using Survivability Expert skill - on a CV... :amazed:

No matter that I am top scorer on the team or how much I try when you get potato teams coupled with borked MM there is no fun in playing. Especially on T10 with those maintenance costs.

Too many weekend warriors that even put bots to shame...

Anyone else had similar experience?

Agreed. Matchmaking doesn't seem to want to try today - pretty bad yesterday, too.

The matchmaking just needs to make people wait longer until the mm is more favourable/balanced - or work harder at balancing ships by tier. If the teams are balanced except for one team having Iowas, when you've got Tirpitzs, it's pretty much gg.

I turn off all expectations of good play and avoid repair-intensive ships on week ends, especially the "event" ones. It's known that potatoes get dug-out in such occasions and I witness more steamrolling than usual.

It's just luck. For every loss someone wins. Weekends can be horrible. Today I had 16 wins and one loss, so decided to stop ! Other days I cannot win, but it's only a game.

Half of the battles I played were in CV today. Other half in different classes. As much as you are good as a CV when half of your team dies in first 5 minutes there is only so much you can do. And when your other CV in team uses Survival Expert on 4th row, parks behind an island and uses auto drop - even less you can do on your own! What is funny he actually got a kill vs. a lone Tirpitz.

Loss after a loss after a loss. And when I change ship I get botched MM. There was one guy in both matches with me when the enemy team had 2 Yamas + 1 Monty while we had 1 Mondty + stock Iowa. You just can't win.

If I get one more weekend like that I'll stop playing on weekends and only after work. Not worth the money and effort put into this game.

The quality of players is not the same as balanced matchmaking. The matchmaker can't make up for bad players, but it can ensure you don't have Iowas v Tirpitzs, or one team having the only Yamato and an extra Shimakaze compared to the other team.

Well the MM didn't really play tricks with me today, but the potatos did...

Funniest match I had tonight on Ocean...T6-T8 match, 6 or 7 Tirpitzes, 2 DD's on each side, me in the Sims grinding a new captain.

At the start I headed for A and asked for support. No reaction at all from the team - usually not a good sign. Both teams proceeded to sail diagonally across the map, along the axis of the caps, shelling eachother. I capped A, I capped B and finally at C got across the enemy  Mutsuki and Fubuki. Sank the Mutsuki and chased the Fubuki away and capped C. Match ended soon after, we won on (cap-)points, a grand total of four ships sunk during the match. Except for me and the enemy DD's nobody even tried to close in on the caps...well at least it was funny to watch :-)

I learned a long time ago to never play at weekends, I value what little sanity I have left too much. :teethhappy:

Did division. First Taiho with Baltimore, then one more friend showed up. No luck. Taiho and Baltimore division got us 1st and 2nd places in the match, but that alone doesn't win matches.

Agreed, this sunday was the worst ever. Had couple good matches, some wins some defeats, but most of the time it was my team yolo rushing and dying in the first minute, and those players were good, above 50% WR and over 1000 matches but they just played like first timers. Wen't for some Co-Op for chills and the freaking team lost against bots battle after battle. Maybe people just didn't wan't to play, everyone wanted a quick yologame, win or not?

Yes, played two games today with absolutely horrible matchmaking and horribly bad players, or bots, was ROFL stomped in both and called it a day finding something far less frustrating to do.

Indeed tonight it really 91$$&6 me off by constantly putting me in teams with less DDs on dominations, or with markedly inferior ships. No way, and I really mean that, I could win a battle at T 7 or 8. Once the first ship was gone, the teams litteraly crumbled.

How did you pribe/hack match maker to get such actually working teams?

Since patch or two ago (or was it start of this event) it has been hard to get any MM consistency even during weekdays with many cases of ship disparities and consistently piss poor players/bots in team.

WG should stop all plain match amount based contests/events.

Two idiots TKed each other in PVE.

A brainless BB division went together to find AI CV for 15 min.

A noob in Hakuryu couldn't hit some AI BB even once with all 5 squadrons of bombers.

Of course there are more such players in PVP.

Loving the "elitist" attitude in this thread...........

Seriously guys. Having bad games on a computer game really isn't worth getting this upset over.

Win rate was nothing to complain about yesterday but the MM was having one it's ... interesting days. A couple of examples:

Domination on Northern Lights, they had 6 DDs, we had 3. Enemy team was wildly over-confident and we somehow won.

Then the real mystery, tier 7 match where we had 11 ships, enemy 13. Only ship on their side that didn't belong was a Myogi, everything else was correctly tiered, four divisions on their team. This was prime time so was somewhat baffled as to what the MM was smoking and this was a rather horrible loss, unsurprisingly.

I do indeed ... but just spent 20 minutes trying to get the image to upload. Time to move on, I think.
