Waited 5 minutes as a Mercenary, found no battle. Never tried it again. :hiding:

I feel it would have been a lot more popular if they had already implemented clans for people to chat to other clan members to form a team but for some reason they just don't see clans as a priority :(

Being T 8 only (as you know you must have a T 8 to be competitive) they're out of reach for many players, including almost all of my usual division mates. Also, the fact that no flags are awarded can be a deterrent. I personally dislike the competitive ranking of teams, I wish I could just play teams for the pleasure to be in a small, effective and coordinated unit, without the pressure of being evaluated at the end.

But I don't want them to go, I just wish a noob team mode, with lower tiers and no ranking, was made avaiable.

what plagues TB?

 

no rewards, no flags, no achievements, crappy MM (where you get paired against team 2k points above you), too small teams. casual teams arent possible with 10 players per team.

 

fix that and you can have enjoyable TB...

Team battles are brilliant when I can actually organise my friends to be on at the same time. Only had 4 games but they were great.

Overall i think they were a moderate success.

it gives players the chance to play with their friends at a more competitive level and is generally free of the random battles toxicity. I've only jumped into a hand full games as a mercenary but each time the teams were very polite and courteous

 

but i wonder if they set the tier limit too high with it being tiers 7-8? perhaps they should have set the tier limit to Tiers 6-7...

Complete failure. No rewards, no achievments, waste of flags, no end game or any info from wg about all the things i've mentioned.

 

 

The hype was nice, held me at first but realizing all the flaws that wg refuses to fix made the game mode quite bad for me.

It's a good feature, but they really need to add awards and rewards to the team battle mode to incentivize players to actually play it.

 

Currently there is no point in playing team battles except to enjoy the gameplay itself (organized 7vs7).

Gameplay is really nice. Lots of potential for people who enjoy playing together as well as those who seek competition.

 

However, the lack of achievements and in general the lack of incentive (except the fun or the rank bragging) is showing in the number of people playing. :unsure: WG give some love please.

You just don't get that kind of tension in random battles, and that's why I really hope they won't remove team battles (for long)

 

 

Unlike most other people, competitive play is reward enough in itself for me and my team. But to get more people playing them (even the "top" teams) there apparently has to be some kind of reward. That's the biggest flaw in the mode: No reward.

 

Add rewards and perhaps people will play team battles more.

biggest flaw is that you cant get any achievements in it, so you are just wasting your flags in there without any way to earn them back. also they need to increase team size from 10 players cause not everyone is online in times when TB are played.

I say TB are great. I see this faze as tranzition faze towards clanwars.

 

Just look Where wot is and wows will be there soon.

 

Yes right now TB are for fun and twicking. Soon They will bring reward and clanwars.

The mode as the idea and mechanic wise is great and definitely not a failure.

However as other have pointed out, the lack of rewards (at least flags) and still cumbersome organizing and joining the teams is making it much less appealing.

What is strange is that WG is taking so long to implement imho simple improvements (such as xx flags after xx battles/wins for example) which could greatly increase the popularity of TB.

I understand that their idea was probably to try to "monetize" the mode immediately as it might push some players to spend money on flags, but its way too early for such attempts

 especially without some "endgame" incentives (e.g. credit/doubloon rewards for moving up the leagues, for top 20 teams...).

 

Please WG create at least some missions or events (with nice rewards) around TBs and the popularity will soar. That should be extremely easy to implement.

Allow larger team pool 9/7 doesn't give enough resilience.

Change availabity times. The current evenings only is too restrictive, as a minimum TBs should be available all day at weekends.

Enable TBs at lower tiers, I would start at T5 and the higher your team goes the higher the tier.

Single tier match making. T7/8 for example is pointless, why would anyone use a lower tier ? 

As others have said, give incentives to play and succeed. Maybe rewards for the top three teams in each league and a special reward for top team overall. Also a reward system like ranked.

100% agree. Tier V? Faster games and more through put too so effectively more teams on server... Plus tierV games are fun

I have tried as a mercenary multiple times (10+) but never got into a game. Waited for 5-10 mins most of them times, havent made an effort in the past month.

Agree, would postpone line 3 though until more players are available.

Alternativly, switch the recommended Tier from time to time (f.e. 1 montx T Y, the next Tiet z, .....)

that kind of why i think it would have been better at tier 6-7. while yes no team in there right minds would go out with a tier 6 carrier within their ranks there are tier 6 ships that handle themselves very well against tier 7s (the cleaveland, Buddy and to a degree the nurnberg) in comparison to the steep difference between 7 and 8
