I stopped trying to brawl with cruisers. Only the Khabarovsk can do that now! Fun fact. Only 2 destroyers have usable armour, the Khabarovsk is one but I bet you can't guess the other.... Of course, against a high tier DD it will get crushed, but for the tier there's nothing as great as the Clemson. I don't even fear meeting Nicholas or Farragut whilst using it, as it can handle itself in any gunfight against other DDs. And there is nothing more fun than going for close quarter torp runs with it too... heading straight on against a big BB to get up just beside them and torp the hell out of them is quite exciting. You don't seem to have Kiev, so I'm taking that with a grain of salt. I do enjoy my Ognevoi as well. Anyone who knows both got opinions on Ognevoi vs Kiev now? I also appreciate Fubuki as a gunboat. At tier 4 you can always have 6 guns on target with excellent arcs and accuracy, none of that rainbow BS later US DDs get. I wanna say Iwaki, even though it's probably not what you're thinking of. I mean, 10km torps (at tier 4!) and smoke, you're just a DD with a citadel, protected by Kuma-level armour, and knowing the amount of times my Kuma's been dinged by up to 12" guns during a hard turn... Yea at lower tiers you can do that kind of stuff, which is akin to some of the more thrilling depictions of real life DD actions of the era.
