I was looking at all the ships in the game and i was kind of curios about what are the ships with the highest stats (survivability, artillery, aa defence, ecc..). It really would take a lot of time to search ship by ship for all the stats... so i am asking if anyone already knows

Stats are usually a very broad indication of a ship's capabilities and may lead to incorrect conclusions about said capabilities. The only stats offering accurate indications are survivability, in which battleships score well, and concealment, in which Japanese destroyers excel.

It is generally better to ask yourself which style of play suits you most and then research the ships which seem to align well with that.

Cheers, M

the stats you see in port are almost 100% meaningless - what you really need to look at are the actual features of each ship and how those will perform in a given situation.

But, as a rough overview, here's a few of the "best" in the categories:

Survivability: tough to say because the classes work so differently... Carriers probably have the highest survival percentage, Yamato takes shots the best, Kagero is probably the best at not getting shot in the first place

Artillery: Yamato has the biggest and most powerful guns, Montana has the largest broadside weight but struggles against angled Battleships, Zao is love Zao is life, Hindenburg is pure murder at punishing any kind of broadside no matter what you are. Yamato also wins in Secondaries together with Izumo.

Torps: Shima has easily the highest amount, but right now I think the single best torpedo in the game sits on Gearing.

AA: Montana has iirc the best base AA, while Hindenburg and Des Moines have defensive AA fire to shred planes like there's no tomorrow while it's active

Concealment: Kagero for serious ships, and a couple of the really low tier IJN DDs for the lulz

Maneuverability: with a combination of insane speed and decently small size and turning, Kiev is pretty good here - can't really comment on how the higher RU DDs feel in that regard.

Fletcher has better torps than Gearing IMO.

It is 1133 more damage vs 6km more range.

Inside 10.5km the Fletcher is better, but the low detection range of the USN torpedoes allows the Gearing to hit targets that are further out.

Better reload I remind you.

122 vs 136 without captain skills and all that. In favor of Fletcher.

Indeed it does, the extra range Gearing has means nothing imo, while the faster reload and bigger alpha on Fletcher torps are much more useful.

What you actually want to know is technical specs. Stats is short for statistics, for example average damage, survivability as in % of battles survived, etc. Use correct terms to avoid confusion in future. This applied to all the other posters in this thread btw.

You cant just say best stats you have to take things like tier and MM into account. Like best combat cruiser for team battles is Atago for example. Best AA cruiser Kutuzov. Best tier 6 AA cruiser is Cleaveland etc etc.

But bear in mind that looking at things based on their average stats is meaningless as well since not every ships works for everyone.

Really? I would imagine that Gearing torps with torpedo acceleration would be pretty great. 1.4km torpedo detection range, 13.2km range and 71kts combined is something that IJN DDs can only dream about now.

The only stats offering accurate indications are survivability, in which battleships score well

And also that survivability is based to just ship's HP pool.

Not to how easy it's to avoid taking damage in ship.

HINDENBURG has the best AA ingame (with skills, modules and Defensive Fire).

Game mechanics chances and new lines have definitely superceded USN cruisers from that position.

USS Atlanta, the M60 machine gun of warships, the best DD killer ever invented :)

Torp Acceleration on an USN DD will mean I have to give up on my Vigilance, which will put me at a severe danger when I do what I do best: Taking the map control from other DDs by gunning them down at really close ranges. Especially now that the Japs pack the F3 that can seriously screw you over.

The only reason I would take TA over Vigilance is if I wanted to play a Gearing in a Torpedo-boat style. Which is honestly not what the Gearing is for (sacrificing your biggest trump card in order to play torpedo-boat style) . Rather take the 12km torp-loaded Shima with 5 more torps.
