Helloo,

So what is use of these new sinking animations, for example if ship turning totally upside down, that animation takes like 4 minutes... what is use of that?? who will watch it??

Ok don't get me wrong, they are nice... But to be totally honest, i think never watched whole animation..

Okay. Tell me when you have something to discuss, because you are pretty much answering your own question with your post.

What is the use of that? -> They are nice (aka they are there for visual enjoyment)

I watch how my ship sank from beginning to the end and I will keep doing that.

when i am dead i don't mind looking at my ship sinking. Or my division mate.

Or randomly seeing some ships in the process of sinking. I don't see the big deal out of it, it doesn't affect your gameplay nor the game performance

I watch them, they add a really nice level of detail. Plus which of the animations takes 4 minutes! Or anywhere close to that?  :D

It has an important consecuence. It's about 1 minute not 4 and it's a obstacle for torps and ships.

You go bow to enemy ship, she has it's broadside point to you, you shinks she and must change course because she will stop you, People use to play the old way, shink  a ship and sail over she, now its not posible. Same for torps, torps in collision course with a shinking ship will be stopped by the flotsam.

In my opinion, the new sinking animations really add to the mood of the game. It's no longer just a bunch of pixels dissolving in water, but your actual ship, slowly turning over and sinking.

Well done, WG!

Me too. It's also great to see battles with multiple sinking ships nearby.

If if you don't care about graphical representations in PC games may as well go back to pong.

I also love the extended time the wreck is an obstacle. New challenges!

Well, if the ship is destroyed by the first torpedo in a spread of five, it would be sort of ridiculous if the rest simply phased through the sinking wreck. I'm fine with the new obstacle mechanics.

Exactly, I know this game is "arcadey" but there has to be a limit with unrealistic things :)

I dont like the new animations

I mean... they are better, but the instant the ship is destroyed it still looks like someone covered the deck bow to stern with C4

Oh yeah, that. Well, I suppose it's intended to make it absolutely clear that, "hey, this ship was just destroyed", so that  people won't waste virtual ammunition on already dead enemies. It's fairly important to have clear information on these things in this kind of game, and the fireworks are probably better than an illuminated banner above the wreck, saying DESTROYED, or something, but I see what you mean... maybe there could be an option for different kind of "tells" on the individual HUD-display?

But is also an advantage, use a shinking ship as shield against torps.

I would like them to take it 1 step further! get sunk while run aground! it would be cool if wreck stayed there rest of battle

well the lack of HUD above their ship should suffice unless people have a REALLY short attention span

That would be great. It could also work for shallow water areas, thus blocking channels :)

I've used a friendly blasted sinking hulk to hide behind while continuing to fire  ... just wish he'd taken even longer to sink!

As for the addition of weather, mucking up our vision. Tsk! ;)

yeah, I read somewhere though, that the land masses are coded to as it were 'sit' on top of the water IE there is no land where the water starts so at the moment even if effectively beached, you still slip under. Be good if that changed.

I really love the new animations. I was watching my beloved Warspite sinking yesterday, she capsized and there was a sizeable explosion and her keel split into two. The fore section sank immediately with the stern sinking slowly. Was awesome to watch :)

I only hope they added a freaking huge magazine detonation for the Yamato ;).

It's an atmospheric thing primarily, and we must keep in mind that the captain who got sunk isn't the only who can see it. Having wrecks floating around at least for a while gives the whole thing a more battle-y feel to it. Also it's a nod to realism - unless it takes quite catastrophic damage, ships don't usually just vanish from the surface in 15 seconds.

If my Pensacola rolls over and the magazine blows it breaks in half and sinks quite fast, much more faster than any other times.

It all adds flavour to the game.

It's so that the band can carry on playing and the (invisible) women and children can get into life-boats.
