I'm not seeing any options for crosshairs other than static/dynamic, aren't there meant to be a number of different ones I can choose from ?

in settings, first tab I think and then there are one dynamic and 9? static each with its own picture of what it looks like. drop down option box ... from memory ... still awaiting download.

thanks, I'd just gone straight for dynamic and couldn't work out why there were no variants.

how do I turn off the 'silly' line showing the direction I am pointing ... it's thick & distracting ... I know which way I am going without it

I can't ctrl-click on a ship or squadron anymore to focus my AA or secondaries? Bug or removed?

So far so good, but there is one thing that annoys me

Rounded reload times, not showing minor improvements to reload from skills, upgrades etc. And "it can't be done" is cheap answer, as in next row you have turret traverse nicely showing tenth of a seconds.

Max gun range indicator on the minimap now rotates with the ship. I consider this undesirable and distracting.

I'm okay with the crosshairs since there's a static one displaying all the numbers, similar to what I used to have, although high-contrast versions of all of them would be nice (currently only the final option has such a variant). The crosshair I used had bright green numbers and more solid white lines. The stock crosshairs' usual faded and scratched lines are far more anti-functional than aesthetically pleasing.

Glad you kept the original fire effect as an option.

I mostly like the changes made in the new update and I would really like to use the new dynamic crosshair, but I'm way too used to the old standard markings. If possible it would be nice if there was an option to have the steps on the dynamic crosshair at the same points as for the regular crosshair when fully zoomed in.

Yeah so my ship is burning I can see my ship is burning no need to show flames at sides and bottom of my screen

WOW! Those new crosshair/recticles really threw off my aim :fishpalm: . If I didn't try anything like hitting DDs at 18 km or got trolled by the island bug I hit about 30-40% of the time. Even in those experimental cases I could have been sure to hit about 20% of the time. But tonight in the new default UI without any mod I was lowered to a new minimum of less than 15%. I cannot figure out how many ticks I actually need compared to the flight time shown in the advanced UI... This feels really unreliable...

 

And I don't have any clue why we needed paler colours... Besides that I like the sharpened UI.

 

One more thing: there seems to be bugs in the UI still! The aiming indicator got stuck in at least one battle tonight and the "targeted" ship was already outside my gun range. In addition to that I was already aiming at another ship! This was reset after the bugged ship returned to my gun range and I targeted and untargeted it.

ok we can finally select favorite ships (primary ingame) , but why the hell we cant hide rest ?? :fishpalm:

any plans to introduce this option ?

I really dont like the new fire effect either, when it first happened, I was panicking thinking I had run alongside another ship that was on fire and was panning around looking for it! I had taken a few more enemy shots before I realised it was just telling me something I already knew, sorry guys, please remove it!

1. It would have been nice if you had included a 'placeholder' to drop a crosshair of your choice to replace the stock crosshair. Looking in the swf files I see there is another crosshair design (unsure of the author but recognise it).

2. I do like the carousel and currently have it set to 4 rows with which I appreciate. Favourites? Yes another plus but have the same concern as von below.

3. Really? Fire? Looks like some poor attempt for flames to put on a custom car rather than give a dramatic effect, thank goodness you put in the option to disable it.

I really like the dynamic crosshair. It's what I used in mods anyway. I often play Benson, and if you shoot at long range, you often need to zoom out to aim properly. Being able to use the same numbers is great for that.

 

What I would really like is a dynamic version of the crosshairs with angular help lines (options 7-9, I think). They're not strictly necessary, but I like the look of them, especially when shooting at spotter plane range.

 

Speaking of UI mods, the ones I'd really like to see as in-game options are ship names in chat, and last known locations on the minimap.

 

Overall, more options in the port view are always nice, but I've not explored them in too much detail.

For the guys with the fire effect, you can disable it in the options! I don't like it either but you don't have to activate it.

I love the dynamic crosshair! Well done WarGaming! This is how its done.

The port with the new settings is also great and a good addition!

 

But one thing I really hate! The new naming of some ships! Hipper... really?! It's called Admiral Hipper or at least A. Hipper like you did with the DM. Donskoy or the N. Carolina. Kutuzov is the same problem, at least name her M. Kutuzov!

This problem occurs is in the port and in game. Hope you fix this.

The changes are really nice. 

But I have one problem as a CV captain.

From the pane view fully zoomed out I can't see the ships body from the name, HP bar and ship type text.

It's much harder to manual aim now the bombs.
