Old Mikasa/Pre-dreadnought Appreciation Society thread - Please see page 27

Update 4

Good morning captains. Another few of bits of info to get you prepared for the contest.

 

1) You will need to have replays enabled for one of the four categories and be able to upload the replay to http://wowreplays.com/ (if you don't want to enable replays or use that site, then you still have the other three categories you can try).

2) The contest is going to be limited to Tier 2 & 3 ships but I am not limiting what classes you can use (BB/CA/DD). I want to do this to keep the ships being used closer in age and design to Mikasa and other Pre-dreadnoughts.

3) Will do not need to own Mikasa in order to enter and win stuff. Mikasa will only be required for two out of the four categories.

 

I will be fleshing out the details ready for the official contest start and the contest will be held over a period of one month.

So that gives you the whole of August in which to take part and also plenty of time for me to answer any questions/concerns you have.

More likely Scharnhorst or Gneisneau. Hipper has 2 gun turrets.

Found 3 Mikasas in the same game (2 of them in a division) which is kind of amazing. Having lost most health of my Derzky in the early stages of the battle, I proceeded to cook them as crispy as I could .

Update 5

Ahoy captains

 

Just a quick post to tell you that I hope to have the contest go live at 9:30AM BST/ 10:30AM CEST on Monday 1st August. If there are any delays I will let you know straight away on this thread.

There will be a post about it on here, and a thread in the general discussion section. Both will have a link to the main contest thread in the "community area" section of the forum.

I'm also hoping to get the event mentioned on shipcomrade.com with the help of TopDawg.

 

To celebrate the end of the contest period, there will be an in-game event most likely at the start of September. Details for that will come later during August.

 

I'm really exited about this event and I hope you will all enjoy taking part as much as I have enjoyed creating it.

The new MM chart lists Mikasa as seeing only T1 and T2 ships. No more pre-dreadnought vs dreadnought battles, the only BBs she'll ever meet now are other Mikasas (or hopefully soon to be added other pre-dreads )

Well well well, that is an interesting development.....not sure how it will pan out in practice. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we will see some more pre-dreads at some point soon
