Ilya_Wolf Players 164 posts 12,288 battles Report post #2 Posted April 15, 2016 After more than 6hrs downloading (yes my internet is that bad...) it went through the actualizing data stage and deleting unused files etc, i left my computer for 5 minutes and now its started the download from the beginning again. Is there some way to improve the information the launcher gives regarding total amount of patches/data needed to finish the install? At this point i am unsure if something failed or its really wanting to download a second 4-5gb chunk of patches. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Ten_Ichi_Go Players 116 posts Report post #3 Posted April 15, 2016 (edited) The same here... I downloaded almost 5 Gigs of data and the launcher reset again and started to download it again! What is going on? It seems that when I stop the download and then start the game from the ready folder, the engine works ok, but the server is still not working? Ilya_Wolf Players 164 posts 12,288 battles Report post #4 Posted April 15, 2016 If you check the updates folder you can see a bunch of different versions as torrents/packfiles im not sure but i would guess we are being forced to redownload the entire pack for some minor change. Tried to load the torrents with uTorrent so i could set it downloading slowly in the background, another bad design choice, cannot download public test & play warships because "client is already open" and they must have some security on the torrents because i couldnt get it to download other than in the launcher close to giving up on participating in public test Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
genvague68 Players 18 posts 3,403 battles Report post #5 Posted April 15, 2016 I also experienced the reset and second go - guessing they're different as the second install pack is a different size to the first. However, it seems strange that the total install is >9GB, this seems like an oversight on the second install pack. First install shows as 18.8GB in WOWS_PublicTest folder, will check total size of this folder once second has completed. Average Torrent speed achieved seems to be around 750KB/s on my Internet connection (which shows as 6Mbps general download capacity). Maximum seems to be 1.1KB/s, only achieved in minute bursts. It normally took me arround 2 minutes to load in, now I can get in in 10-25 seconds. Very very very nice job WG. like wth. you guys should get a raise. ByteMe Players 4 posts 1,315 battles Report post #22 Posted April 23, 2016 I might be getting blind in my old age, because I've tried all day to download the public test, but I keep getting the game instead (0,5,4,3) I think that's the version. I've played the public test many times in the past, but I recently got at new PC and I need to install the test fra scratch. The other times it just updated itself. I just can't seem to navigate the website to find the install file for the public test. The Public Test Guide mention the Public Test Portal, but when I go there, there is no Join Now button as mentioned, only a Manage Account button. If I log out and want to create a new account, also mentionen in the public test guide, I'm denied this, as my email is already in use. I'm lost here. Any tips? Please explain.I really can't see why it has to be such a hazzle for download the public test. I've traed all day now and only gotten the full game 4 times now, one time in russian. You can then switch the PR client in launcher to any supported language, same way you can do with the normal client. 2. If you already created test account (as it seems) and you forgot the password, then go to the PT Portal, click "Log In" and then you have option to Recover Account.
