I wouldn't be surprised if Campbeltown is the reward for GNB.

I certainly do think it is going to be a ship, because, really, what else is it going to be?
Campbeltown is available, but mysteriously not so on the EU server.

EU Server so far is the only one to get this event.

Campbeltown is a European ship, of which there are precious few (Russkisoviet ships don't count).

Personally, I don't care, as long as the reward is a historical ship, I want them all..

Campbeltown will be available at some point.

I do have to admit, not making her available is making me want her more. :amazed:

Otherwise why let Jingles and Flamu upload their reviews (not to mention those on the NA server).

Because the ship is officially released in other parts of the world? This cannot be it.

Because its being sold in RU and Asia so trying to keep their more valuable youtubers muzzled would be a great way to anger them.

It doesn't seem plausible to me bearing in mind the fact the RU and Asian servers will have their own contributors, and I don't think either Jingles or Flamu would want to bite the hand that feeds them.

I guess we'll find out in a few weeks though.

I can't believe she will be the surprise for GNB (it would be too generous being the primary reason)

My suspicion is that as 18th to the 22nd is marked as "Convoy Battles" on the calendar that, that is when HMS Campbelltown will be finally be made available for us to buy in the premium shop.

The theory being that we will all be so deliriously happy and grateful that WG have finally deigned to allow us their paying customers to have a second RN ship that we wont notice/care/get too angry when WG decide that the best way to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the battle of Jutland will be by releasing yet another glorious soviet uber win ship that no one wants.

Well that is a good theory, I did not even notice the convoy thing on the calendar. :)

I wont be amused to see the campbeltown delayed just so they can turn it into a reward.

Well I'm pretty sure WG-EU's original plan WAS for her to be a reward ship:

Q: Whats up with the low amount of WG EU held contests lately? The only one we've had in the last 2 months was Bounty Hunter: OMNI Flavus, and Juggernauts contest was cancelled and never replaced. Also, we can only win low tier ships in regular contests (highest being toer 4 Imperator) -the only exception to this was a very special and awesome end of year contest.

A: It's a tricky question, they try to fit in as much contests as they can. HMS Campbeltown will come as a contest-reward. It also comes because the EU is split over 7 language teams, and the contests are split over the 7 languages, so you have to look for yourself. There is stuff coming up, but more on that when it’s there.

From this Q&A answered by Tuccy and MrConway: http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/46997-qa-stream-next-week-send-me-your-questions/page__st__80__pid__927969#entry927969

Well the original plan was for her to go on sale with the anniversary of the raid this contest reward thing came after.

Probably, I'm not really sure on the order of things. But the idea of her being a reward ship has obviously been in their minds for a while. :)

Maybe the plan was originally to make it a contest reward but that obviously changed as first we had the Operation Chariot  fiasco and they sold it on the Asia and RU servers......

So as usual the EU gets fecked over.

So as usual the EU cash cow gets fecked over.

Well NA has not had it either, and it was a US ship originally....:P

So, if we can't have Campbeltown what other low tier Royal Navy destroyer could we have that's famous for smashing into other ships?

My vote goes to HMS Spitfire, I hope someone got Nassau's insurance details. :teethhappy:

HMS Worcester, Active or Antelope

As the war clouds began to loom training became ever more important and on 16 February 1937 some of the destroyers were at sea off Malta practising torpedo attacks with the cruiser Galatea as their target.  The log entries are a masterpiece of brevity:

HMS Active            11.18 collided with Worcester
                               11.19 collided with Antelope
HMS Antelope        11.21 in collision with Active
HMS Worcester      11.20 in collision with Active
11.21 Active in collision with Antelope

I wonder what the ship in the background is?  Looks rather like a "Revenge" class to me. HMS Resolution maybe?,

Sadly the website the picture was on does not say.

I maybe over analysing it a bit but I doubt it is the Resolution due ti the smoke stack, the only Renege class to have a flat smoke stack in 1937 was the HMS Ramillies.

But I could and most likely am wrong.

Well I cant see the Convoy Battles event (http://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/special/sse-may/), but it looks like it is now GNB week 3 is out 'Battle of the Atlantic' (http://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/special/gnb-week3-missions/)

WGEU boast that there is more than a few famous vessels represented in WoWS (4).

Also HMS Campbelltown "...and get ready to see her in game in the upcoming weeks. The time will come..."

I'd put my money on The Mighty Oak, she was very busy in and around Malta during that time. :honoring:
