More "crowd management", seriously why are we having to hunt these guys down so they can fob us off with "Soon™" ????

 

I hardly had to "hunt" him down. I am a chat mod on the stream and MrConway happened to stop by. So I decided to ask him in a tongue in cheek way about the Campbeltown, even though I knew he could not answer me.

I still wonder why the Campbeltown was not released on the EU server first. From all the WoWs Regions, i think the EU Community is the server that will deliver WG the most sales on the Campbeltown.

First available on SEA, then on RU and maybe first on NA before we, the EU Community, can buy it? What is the logic behind that?

 

Asia server bought it 1.5 week ahead of other servers, i guess England is in Asia? Have we been eligible to buy anshan or lo yang before asian server could? Forget the most sale stupidness, where is the goddamn logic? And far from that, while they get discounted bundles on signals, doubloons, ships we get nothing in months for a bundle! I think EU Server's sales manager must be FIRED!

Having seen Flamu's excellent review, I think I am going to wait for some decent RN ships. Let's face it, this was used as a battering ram because it was not a very good destroyer. I have been playing the Wickes to practice for it but the major advantage of the Wickes is that it has decent guns and lots of torps. This has rotten guns and half the number of torps which take an age to reload. A shame but just glad I saw the review first or I would have been very disappointed.

 

Same here. WG, please drop me a line when you'll sell something called Lance, Matchless or Nubian.

More realistically, draw a J to sell it to Poles as the Piorun, then to us as the Javelin, Janus or whatever.

thing is Flamu review is flawed. 

Less of the same guns makes the Wickes a better gunboat.

Wakatake DPM is about 15% higher than Campeltown But the turret rotation is way slower. Also chance of fire Almost the same in both ships. The reason i say this is because the higher rate of fire means more shell down range. (fire chance for 1 min of firing in Jap ships is 120% Assuming all shells hit and in RN ship its 105%

 

Torps

 Tube arrangement is a not ideal! but at Much longer range and substantially more Damage on a hit than Wickes or Dirski and RN ship also has the chance to launch without exposing herself to incoming fire. 

 

Wakataki loads faster and torps are almost identical and she can launch 4 in a broadside  instead of just 3. But at Jap ship can get 12 torps in water in 2 mins! Just the same as the RN ship.

 

With 20% more hit points and same DPM give me Campeltown in a gun fight against Jap ship any time! also in a turning fight RN ship will win hands down with guns

 

Campeltown will probably lose a gun fight against Russian or USN DD but her torpedo ability is way better.

 

Flamu Finds the ship underwhelming and she may be.

 

But on paper at least she is a better gun boat than Jap ship and better Stealth torpedo boat than USN or Russian ships. She is an All rounder

The side-mounted guns on the HMS Campbeltown don't bother me. The lack of even a single gun pointing to the rear, however, does. No runnin' and gunnin' on this ship, unless it's either in circles arond the enemy, or straight at him!

Now that I think about it, the latter mindset seems to match the ship's history quite well...

Im curious how many sales of the campbeltown they already lost because of this nonsensical delay.

Currently im still going to get it but its losing its appeal quite steadily.

 

And to repeat myself.

 

 

 

One can only hope that someday they will offer new content on the same day for all regions.

Differing specials on different days fine but releasing new content for its first release and then days apart wont gain them any praise from anyone.

The problem is that she's a tier 3 DD and I don't find destroyers below tier 5 enjoyable, as the cruisers there are really powerful. Also, a broadside of 2 guns and 3 torps only, I find that really unattractive, and she's not a British ship after all. I'll wait for a J or a Tribal instead, it should be worth it.

dont worry I'm pretty sure well have the full RN destroyer tree LONG before the the Cambelltown  makes its debute on the EU server

Lets face it, we are not getting the Campbeltown. There is some reason that WG-EU does not want to sell it to us, who knows what the reason is but there obviously is one.

Judging by the promo picture they released showing the upcoming premiums (Texas/Molotov/Marblehead/the other one) I see no reason why they would even bother with Campbeltown anymore.

They have bigger and better things to get us to part with our money. Sad, but I believe true.

 

Edit: And no one is fooled by the "Soon™" thing, we all know that means "we don't know at this time". Anyway, sorry to get off topic

Yep interesting thread but it shouldn't replace this one which is about trying to find out why WG has decided to discriminate against a whole bunch of people on the EU server who would really like to BUY the HMS Campbelltown...

 

AND yes I know the it's a POS but it is at least another ship that can be used to train RN Captains.
