Horrible ruddershift time, yet the turrets turn so slow they still can't keep up in a turn. Bad detectability for its range, no armour whatsoever and angling doesn't help because in the lower tiers, people spam HE anyway. And talking about HE, it's the only ammunition you should shoot in the low tier russian cruisers. AP is absolutely terrible. I shot AP volleys at a nearly broadside Karlsruhe 6km away from me and hardly did any damage (just a couple hundred damage per volley), spamming HE I do more or less triple that damage per volley, plus I knock out modules and can set fires. In a direct comparision Karlsruhe vs Svietlana, I'd take the Karlsruhe all the time. Edited March 24, 2016 by Aotearas Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

[KOKOS] Benaulim Beta Tester 284 posts Report post #11 Posted March 24, 2016 Funny, while absolutely not feeling overwhelmed the Svietlana's handling reminded me of the St. Louis. The damage output seems somewhat unreliable against higher tiers. Good enough to defend bottlenecks against light armored targets, though. Won four out of five around noon (when literally a hundred cruisers were queuing) and am actually looking forward to the rest of the grind. The Yorck was pretty unplayable while Shchors is an upgrade to a really good ship, the Budyonny. I doesnt seem like their is a high tier Derp ship in the Russian line, right? Check out this video "World of Warships - Tech Tree Overview - Russian Cruisers" by iChaseGaming The Shchors gets an extra turret over the Buyonny, but in other respects it suffers:-- much weaker armour-- turning radius of 900 meters and poor rudder shift time, worse than battlships!-- Poor surface detectibility of 13.3 km iChaseGaming calls it "The massive stinker on the Russian line" Not saying iChase is right, not saying that he is wrong either. Those guns are amazing: very accurate, high shell velocity, nice flat arc. HE damage is good, it sets fires like a champ and the AP is pretty decent too. The ship turns like a brick though. Maybe not Kuma levels of awesomeness but at least playable and even enjoyable. Its definitly a step up from the Karlsruhe and Yuubari. With a skilled captain it could probably be a pretty decent sealclubber even with its large number of guns with 6 torpedoes on each side which while short range do have good arcs.
