Do you keep playing the same ship from your port?

The title says it all really. Just curious what people do. I have an active ship of each nation/class going (with exception of IJN BB for some reason).

 

I start with first on the list and play that ship until either it is sunk or I have played 3 matches on it. Then move onto the next active ship.

 

What do you do?

I play the New Mexico almost exclusively now. But I mostly play 3 or 4 games per night, so not bothering with other ships at the moment (Pepsicola is gathering rust and my tier 6 Japanese DD is giving me the sad eyes).

I`m playing almost exclusively Błyskawica. Because she is giving me everything I need from game: Błyska is fun to play, very stronk and scares other DD`s to death. There is no point in grinding tiers X atm because why would I if there is no endgame content: no CW, no tier X team battles, nothing. You only lose credits.

I've started to escort larger ships, like the Saint Louis cruiser and Carolina battleship, with the intention of keeping them alive while also making my own kills. 

I'm finding the Umikaze a bit frustrating though, as every HE hit seems to take out steering and engine.

Last Stand is a must for all DD captains out there. Hell, even my cruiser captains have it. You just don't want to be caught with your pants down and HE seems to feast on engines and rudders in this game.

Umi is awesome. It`s WoWs version of Rambo. Don`t get spoted, spam torps (carefully, don`t blow up half of your own team ), use guns only when you are in desperate situation - that`s all the secret.

I have 4 lines that I am grinding up - Ranger, Farragut, Fubuki and Mogami and I usually play them in that order until I have my daily reward.

 

After that it kind of depends... with 21 ships, if I am in a division I can match whatever tier is required generally but often it is my premiums as opposed to my grind ships as money is always needed!  If I am on my own and fancy more games I will likely play my Yamato and Gremy because they are fun.

i like playing my BBs. but if there are lot of dds waiting for battle, i pick up my shimakaze or des moines. but currently im trying to grind some credits so mostly i play premium ships like atago, tirpitz, murmansk.

For me, mainly DD's, my favourite which I play most of the time is the Mutsuki, I also Have a Shimakaze and Fletcher.

That tends to happen in every DD when getting shot at.

That or guns getting disables/wrecked in case of gunship DD.

 

DDs just aren't meant to tank hits and are all about limiting amount of incoming fire/avoiding hits.

I would say that job belongs to Gremyashchy.

Regarding my current situation, my sig says it all really .....

 

I used to regularly play light cruisers: Kuma, Phoenix, Murmansk, Cleveland, Königsberg, Nürnberg. I tried some other ship types but didn't like them (133 games in BBs, 193 games in DDs).

 

After the changes in 0.5.3 most of the fun has gone out of the game for me. I seemed to be making progress in the game, but now I feel knocked backwards a long way. But then, that was the intent, because Wargaming felt that these changes were absolutely necessary to get the game back into balance. Even accepting that argument 100%, the fact is that the nerfs hurt and affect how I see the rewards of playing the game.

 

TBH I can think of lots of more enjoyable activities than playing WoWs right now. My last game was over two weeks ago and I haven't missed it.  

 

I'm hoping that playing Soviet cruisers will get my interest back.

 

P.S. To be clear - The game is OK. The problem is that I don't seem to fit in to the game.

I lately have been playing T7 and 8 only, but when there is no *@!! tier-tied mission going I like to take out my Kuma and my Aoba to crush whatever the MM throws my way. I have a ship for each tier, up to T8 so far, so if I need to go around derping lowtiers I can do so.

Also, to many people's shock, I actually like the Pensacola, so I take her out too even though I don't have an operational need to.

I bought the Kuma again the toehr day, because I missed it...
This thing is the perfect IJN cruiser. Fast, many guns, side torpedo mounts with excellent arc of fire, and even a catapult fighter. 
It's hilarious that at that tier, DDs that rush you don't expect you to turn so fast and avoid all the torpedoes, and send some out yourself  in 2 distinct salvoes. So many double kills thanks to those torpedoes.

Not really. I like variety.

I do have some favourites on every tier. I play them when divisioning with people that want to play at a certain tier I'm not grinding through. Though lately it's all been tier 7-8 (where my grinds are at for every line), so atm I'm just grinding (gotta catch 'm all, queue Pokemon themesong)

This thing is the perfect IJN cruiser.

Have to say I kinda like seeing Kumas in enemy team...

Because 130mm APs can citadel it up to 10km range from straight angle making for good precise aiming practise!

 

Would have to test in Training Room but I suspect below 4km 130mm AP might citadel it from almost any angle:

Either through belt armor, or through bow and citadel's front bulkhead.

In fact from 3½km citadel missing APs overpen even from big angle.

I have ships I'm "grinding"  Benson, Fubuki, Kiev (only recently acquired her).

 

Then Gremyashchy, Błyskawica, Anshan, You Lang and Sims or commander training and WG pay me in game money.  I like the shooty DDs at the moment over the torpy ones.  I'll come around to the Tier V IJN DDs one weekend and get the feeling for them back I'll bet.  It's just having played the others I realise that there is so much danger out there for an IJN DD... Cruisers are less of a danger to you than well gunned DDs.

 

If I do have a feel for BBs I'll be Warspite then Kongo then New Mexico. 

 

Pretty much stopped playing cruisers.  Seem to be too vulnerable to enjoy.

I have about 31 different ships, KM CA until Koningsberg. 

USN DD up to Fletcher, USN CA up to New Orleans (this ship killed my love for cruisers), USN BB up to South Carolina (Don't like BBs), USN CV up to Independance. 

IJN barely anything. Only the BBs up to Myogi but I don't like BBs. And I dont like the IJN DD playstyle either.

SN nothing, even scrapped my T1 SN Cruiser

I also have the Atlanta, Blys, Emden.

 

My 4 most favorite ships are the Fletcher, Benson, Nicholas and Farragut. I would really like to like the Atlanta, she's everything I want in a cruiser. A LOT of guns, high arc. But I just can't make her work. I need her to have either better concealment or smoke. I am someone who likes to specialize. So it is USN DDs and my second one will be carriers in order to not [edited]with my aim on the DDs. I don't like the Blys for that reason, her shell arc is to flat to shoot accurately with (for me at least)

 

I have a problem though. I can't sell ships . I even have a Wickes and I never played that one. Skipped straight to the Clemson.

My routine is to do the daily with this ships sequence: Kamikaze R, Farragut or Ognevoi (I'm trying to decide which branch is the best gunboat), Blyskawicka or Lo-Yang, Ibuki, Kagero. But as 2 weeks ago I dragged a couple of friend ingame at the moment after the Kami I play some random T2/3/4 to level with them.
