I don't and won't judge anybody's education level but for the sake of anything you believe or respect stop calling these ships "Russian". The only ships which could be considered are maybe tiers 3-4 and lower. Even those then became Soviet ships. 

 

USSR were a multicultural union which consisted of many different ethnics and countries (at least 13 of them) and they were represented in a high council called "Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union"

 

So back to the topic Soviet Union was not Russian although Russians made the bulk population of it. Soviets respected all ethnics as equals. Most of the Soviet leaders were of different ethnics. Stalin was Georgian, Lenin was from a Siberian ethnicity (some Turkic or Siberian tribe) and so on.

 

Many technologies and products were designed by people with different ethnics. (Like Mig aircraft by Armenian called Migoyan). Crew and Army consisted of different ethnics. Hell even now Russia is so to a large extend !.

 

Stop soon enough before it is too late ! Have some respect in history and truth.

My knowledge of history concludes that any flag in WOWS should not be allowed since it represent suppression and slaughter. Our own perception of "history" doesn't include the slaughter of third world populations and controlling their Resources. The Royal navy wasn't there to protect the "free world" it was there to disencourage nation from revolting against their "white" masters.  

 

The world is driven by people who holds the power to suppress or convince people into following them. Every western is as disgusting  as the raising sun or swastika! We just hide behind the victory over those who tried to appear superior.

We all really want the R U S S I A N ships in game as RUSSIA has such a strong naval tradition. WW2 ships of the RUSSIAN Nation are wonderful examples of stronk RUSSIAN technology... So in short RUSSIAN ships are here to say and RUSSIAN captains will captain those same RUSSIAN ships...

 

Oh and by the way Hammer and Sickle should be, as it represents a repressive regime that slaughtered millions of its own citizens, banned as is the Swastika for exactly the same reasons.

Honestly.... The biggest population in WG games are russian. They pay more than we do for this "F2P" game. 

 

Think about it, how would the game look if WOWs had been developed in the Uk with a majority of UK players. Would you piss them off and would that make you a profit?

Tell that the to Tatars, Lithuanians, slovakians, Romanians etc. Many of whom were forced out of their homes on mass and deported. Non ethnic Russians were certainly not treated as equals to the ethnics. Hell even Koreans where deported and they were WILLING members of the socialist republics.

 

Did you forget at Stalin pretty much relocated the entire populace of the Crimea and replaced them with ethnic Russians after the second world war?

 

Sorry but while I under stand your sentiment, to question another's respect for history when you yourself are looking at it through very rose tinted glasses is being very hypocritical.

My dad still says Soviet all of the time when he means Russia, which is kind of interesting when we talk about the Russian Ukraine conflict, because he refers to both sides as Soviet... ... It's just force of habit. I know what he is trying to say and don't correct him.

May be true, but OP certainly also got hit by 1 or 2 kremlin propaganda pidgins. While he has half a point about russia != soviet union, the other half of his post does not even have to do anything remotely with the point. And yes, the wargaming [edited]with special ensigns for russian/soviet/idk what else ships in the same tech tree while all other nations have only one, does not help in any way.

Living in a country the Soviets respected at least as much as their ethnics, I can tell you they only cared about Russia itself....have you ever heard of the term "Russification"?  Yup, its exactly what it says on the tin.  At least we avoided the worst parts Russiafication because we werent a Soviet republic and only a part of the Eastern block...Yet they still tried altering some of our traditions and forcing Ded Moroz(their frosty version of Santa Claus) upon us

I live in a former Soviet Union State and certainly not hit by propaganda pidgins. I would rather say since Soviets dont exist propaganda against them is unevenly strong hell even in those times capitalist propaganda was always stronger because it always tend to aim human's most primal instincts. 

 

I opened this thread not to start a political discussion but because I hate everybody calling our ships Russian ! All the military equipment we had belonged to people and these people were from different rethnics. I am Armenian and a lot of my relatives died fighting vs Germany in WW2. Even the war was not in Soviet Armenia they went to fight there because it was USSR.

 

As I said lots of war equipment were designed by different ethnics including ship and submarine plans but not limited to them. They were all Soviet ! And last thing I would say we were much happy. I don't need to read a book. I was 7 years old when Soviets went down but %90 of the people living here except the most rich tell now there is no life at all and these are dark times. Despite all those flaws Soviets were a great place to live. 

 

Soon I will be happily sailing my SOVIET KIROV CRUISER... good day all !

Take a chill pill and stop shouting at us. I'll call the ships whatever I want to. This part of your post did make me laugh though 'Soviets respected all ethnics as equals' - simply so far from the truth it hurts. Blind patriotism is sad. Inform yourself a little further before taking to 'lecturing' us on the political corrrectness of ship titles and don't just read the Russian history books. Perhaps you should enlighten yourself with spreading your research a little wider, but other than that have a great day.
