Like the topic says - do you keep your stats hidden and why?

I have in reality only one important reason - XVM and mods that aspire to become similar tool. It brings toxic behavior to game.

Not at the moment but the more I hear about xvm from players in game the sooner I will hide them. People are keeping xvm quiet at the moment but in game you can tell people are using it from what they say.

I thought 5.3.0 killed XVM? Or was it just removed from Aslain?

Anyway, no I don't hide my stats. I enjoy looking at stats, so it'd be disingenuous to hide my own.

don't hide them either, and don't see any reason to. No, I don't like XVM and don't use it, but I also don't see it as enough of an issue (yet) for me to hide my stats, since I'm yet to see anyone refer to it ingame. And I do sometimes check out key/remarkable players in a match (both during and afterwards), both for exceptionally good and incredibly bad performances - mainly out of curiosity. You do sometimes find the strangest profiles... had an absolute failure of a Shima on my team twice in a row yesterday (he kept hiding behind the BBs *sigh*), and lo and behold - he had played around 30 games each on Minekaze, Kagero and Shimakaze, and that was it for DDs (and nothing impressive on any other class either, 500 pretty bad Tirpitz games iirc...). Why oh why was I not surprised there, and he had a name to match as well which I won't mention here...

No. There is no working ingame-XVM atm and even during the time there was, it made absolutely no difference. It never was widespread. I want to keep informed about my progress via graphs and incremental analysis and both only works with a public profile.

This might change if ingame-statstools gain popularity though.

I hide mine as it's nobodies else's business how crap I am. I never check anyone else's stats either as I have a life.

Me neither. You kind of know from the start if your dealing with good or bad players. Like yesterday in my last battle, they all lemming trained to C and failed as normal. If I knew their stats would that of changed the outcome..nope!.

I have mine public.

There's nothing I have to hide except for maybe my SKK performance :hiding:

I'm surprised so many hide their stats, I don't nor would I. My stats are pretty bad but I have a thick enough skin to shrug off insults from a random stranger I'll never meet who is hiding behind a keyboard probably in a country I'll never visit.

I find xvm extremely useful and wish it were available in game. The ability to tell which of your team members are worth supporting and which are likely to drive their BB into the nearest island and shoot at seagulls or whether the DD behind you is likely to just spam torpedoes regardless is invaluable. If a player has good stats then you can learn an awful lot by watching them after you've died and which way they go at the start.

I do not hide my stats.

Reasons are:

- I do not yet see XVM like mods being that popular, and I expect them to die out going forward in any case since they make very little sense with hide stats option available

- When looking at certain opinions here on forum, I like to check from time to time if the poster has experience about the discussed topic. Likewise, when I post my opinions it is only fair that people can check the same if they want. A good example is one of the discussions about Shimakaze being OP by a guy who has neither played it, played very few low tier DD games and his max tier is overall 8. Yes he might have seen the Shima in several games being the bottom tier, but imho this is not a sufficient experience to judge the ships (as either OP or UP for that matter).

- I do not care that much about stats or trying to maximize them. As my personal goal is to be over WR 52% on average (i.e. to positively contribute on average), I have no doubts now after playing more than 2000 games that I will be able to be above that goal with or without XVM present.

Yes I hide them. I don't care about other people stats and I see no reason for other people to care about mine.

My stats are not hidden. Everyone is allowed to see how bad i am at playing World of Warships.

Why? It is just a game, :honoring:

The ability to tell which of your team members are worth supporting and which are likely to drive their BB into the nearest island and shoot at seagulls

Well, good for you if bad BB players you meet run into nearest island instead of going straight into crossfire of half of enemy fleet or torpedo ambush.

Still floating ship usually has point value even if it isn't doing anything else useful.

I keep my stats for all to see. I see no reason for me to hide them, especially since I know that people will probably just find a way to look them up anyway.

Also, I find it usefull for other people I play with to see them, division mates and so on.

And in all honestly, if it is to avoid getting trash talked, well I get that anyway regardless, so that makes no difference. :hiding:

With regards to XVM: I hate it, but not much I can do about it, unfortunately.
