You probably killed some guy that was so salty he decided to report you.

Take it as a compliment :)

Today I reported a guy 7 times, when he started raging about how I shouldn't cap.

You know the type.

WoT-style "don't cap kill 'em all".

Nevermind that Our cap was about to potentially be overrun despite the fact that we were outnumbering the opponent 8-4. Seemed like a foregone conclusion we'd win but these games can and will turn on a heart beat.

Turns out after we win by points before cap becomes an issue that I am #1 in XP and he's dead last.

I'll fire my entire broad side of reports at you idiots when you act like this. Don't think I won't.

Welcome to a balanced and not fundamentally broken mechanic....

Welcome to a mechanic that gives the power to complete knobheads to destroy your Karma cause of their anger issues...

You are obliged to leave your sanity in the dumpster, there is no reason to carry it with the rest of your luggage....

You do know that reporting someone more than once will achieve nothing else but make it more likely that your reports will be ignored?

Happens all the time to me. Karma drops up and down all the time... Some people just do not fully understand some game mechanic or just hate being pwned :D

been reported by my own team for carrying games with a stealth cap when we were beaten because ... F'ed if I know.

been reported for scoring cits on cruisers showing their sides because ... F'ed if I know

been reported for being "a camping [edited]" and "a wimp" with 116k damage, first blood, 3 kills, 2 devastating strikes and a high calibre by a waste of genetic material who currently has a survival rate of 14%, a kills to deaths ratio of .49 and an average damage of 17.3k at T7 because ... well, because he's [edited]

but hey, its the internet. Half the people you will encounter are below average intelligence. Makes this all kinda inevitable! :D

After a few incidents I have come to believe that a single player can influence your karma by reporting respectively complimenting you multiple times in a single battle. However ... who cares?

I never go to bed without using all my negative reports. A day is wasted without having spent them.

Isn't the system for chat ban automated?

Well.... my current Karma is 6, but again I don't rant much in game. I'll do my thing and if and when I die I try and spot for my team. However I have been reported by people who don't know how to play and all they want is KILLLLLLLLLLLLL the enemy. Last time that happened a DD was moving through cap we were 4 vs 7 and he had a quarter of a way to go to finish cap. I was in BB trying to hold the advancing oposition so he could finish cap. Yet he decided to exit the cap, getting me killed and throwing the game to the opposing team.......he was kind of angry when I politely asked him to find something else to do as a hobby. His answer was I do this for the fun and not to win....I am going to report you.... and he did. Kudos to him !

I've never really understood that sentiment. It sounds like an excuse.

"I don't enjoy winning."

Yes it automated - but you re not supposed to use more than one report per player, per violation, per game - the system will ignore it if you spam reports against the same player.

So if someones is being a D in chat report him for that, but only once, and if he is also playing very unfair or whatever WG thinks "poorly" means report him for that, too - but only once ;-)

More than once each is simply a waste of daily reports.

Next time you play, pick a cruiser and you wont receive a report. Reason for report is 100% this: "Damn OP Shimakaze stealth torping player ruined my game - report this mo****f****r.."

On the serious side, play cruiser next time instead of Shima as there are too many players using that ship at high tiers.

The system should automatically revoke one's reporting privileges (with a popup message) after a certain number of fraudulent reports, at least for a while

I don't have a source, but remember some WG employee talking about this system when it was introduced during CBT. No idea where that was though.

Off the top of my head I've have been reported for,

shooting from smoke

torping a bb going straight whilst not detected

1 volleying a full health cruiser that wasn't moving

shooting over islands

using manual torpedo drops

using fighter barrage ability

hitting citadels at long range

hitting citadels at close range

oh and ramming someone and not being killed in the process.

Karma wasn't introduced during CBT. It's part of patch 5.2 and only has been on the public test server for a few days. Speaking of 5.2 I am aware that in the patch notes it says: [if a player is complemented or reported, a system message appears after a battle.] The system message for reports will be displayed only if a player has been reported by at least two players. However I do believe that a single player doing two different reports (or compliments) during a battle can change your score. By the way .. I don't recall any system messages either. My guess really is that the system doesn't work properly. Maybe supertesters could simply play around with it on one of their separated playgrounds.

As a side note changing the system to complimenting players only would benefit everyone and disarm the griefers.
