Was wondering if Wg would bring back these ships?

In my understanding the Soviet project 7 dd and the Yuubari are pretty good and Sims is amazing under the hands of a skilled captain.

Whats your opinion on these ships one day finding their way back into the premium shop and which one would you buy?

Hopefully Wg takes interest and maybe one day we can see more of these excellent ships.

I own all three of them. Yubari has it´s moments, Sims can be great, Gremy is my favourite ship for PvP battles. If i remember right, WG said something like those ships will be blocked for something around 12 months after release of the game. I wouldn´t be too surprised to see one or several of them later this year, maybe in form of a christmas special offer or something. But that´s just a guess...

I honestly can't see them putting the gremlin back on sale as it's a balance nightmare.

Sims is rather meh really compared to what it was. Yubari has been hurt by the nerf hammer too many times.

Love my gremlin though.

I was lucky enough (stupid enough) to get them in closed beta and the Gremy is the only one that people will want. It's far better than any gun boat dd at that tier. It's pretty op as they didn't nerf the HE damage in the last patch as people had spent money to get it.

Yubari is garbage, sold it long ago and the sims is only good if your an amazing dd captain. It's way below other T7 dds and the torps do 8k ish max damage!!!! So you get 4K a hit if your lucky.

Love my Grem sims is trash.

Anshan is is higher tiered equivalent to the gremy but a tier makes so much difference.

Honestly wished i picked the Gremy instead of the yubari to get into the cbt.

Still i do love the yubari when a tier 4 bb just sails straight into my torpedoes.

Reminds me of the old kikatami

I don`t have Yubari or Sims but I have Gremmy and it is as much balanced as other early Russian premiums.

The main benefit of the grem it's that it doesn't get the +2km visibility on firing the guns that the non premium Russian DDS get, so is able to fire from cammo far more effectively.

To my knowledge the Anshan doesn't get the same bonus as the grem.

It did however suffer the same he nerf as everything else.

Have all 3,

The Yubari is my favorite, but after all these nerfs I wouldn't recommend anyone buying it.

If you want one of the pre-order ships, go for the Gremy.

Yubari and Sims are bad, Gremyashiy is the glorious Soviet have-it-all at tier 5. Good guns, good torps. Should be tier 6 like the Anshan but it isnt.

Definitely don't see Gremlin becoming available though I'm sure WG wants to eventually sell some premium Soviet DD.

Sims got hurt by change to faster firerate at the expense of trajectory because raw DPM matters only if shells hit.

And at closer distance turrets become more prone to get hit.

Anshan has various buffs of the Gremy including 8km torpedoes and 19.4s 180 degrees turret rotation.

Other than the small hp buff and aa buff its a project 7 destroyer at heart.

Trust me, not having that +2km penalty to visibility on firing is priceless

True even firing at max range 12km i am often spotted.

Would it be good to invest in that 4 point captain skill which increases main gun range of calibers up to 139mm by 20%?

In theory my range would increase from 12km to 14.4 km?

This would be something like the Gremys 2.0km negligible spotting distance.

Oh and plus if you open fire your detection goes up by 4km i think.

Getting a sims on your team in ranked is often a good signal that the match is already lost.

Terrible POS.

Wouldn't mind owning the Gremy if I hadn't already shelled out for Murmansk. Don't see a big reason to have two premium ships of the same tree since I mainly use them for captain retraining.

I like the Gnevny and have kept it. I'd love to get a Gremy, but I doubt that it will ever be sold again (which I think is a little bit unfair on those unable to get one - but only a little bit)

This post (#6) from thread; http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/42713-gunboat-us-or-ru-line/

Quote from the Russian dd's thread

"The Gnevny is similar but at the same time significantly inferior to premium Gremyaschy in many aspects.

Gremyaschy has better:

  • HE damage (1600 vs 1900)
  • Fire chance (7% vs 9%)
  • Camouflage fire penalty (5.9km vs 3.9km), which allows it to invisifire without Advanced Firing Training, unlike Gnevny.
  • Torpedo range (4km vs 8km), which allows Gremy to invisitorp, unlike Gnevny.
  • Base surface camo (7km 6.8km)
  • Rudder shift time (4.4 vs 2.7)
  • Turn radius (610 vs 510)

Gnevny only has better speed (38 vs 37) more health (+800) and faster torpedoes (65kn vs 55kn)"

I think the mentioned that they won't be selling Grem at RU server. However, this is WG and they've done it in the past with WoT. They will be very expensive and sold for a very limited time.

Suspect they got so burned with the type 59 they'll be reluctant to introduce a ship again for any period of time which has so many advantages over the regular editions.

They give the occasional type 59 out as a major prize but they are very few and very fast between. And to be fair the players who win them... Pretty much anything is op in their hands.

The premium ship crashed Christmas eve 2014 during the advent calendar event cause everyone logged in hoping it was type. But WG put game balance above sales...

Gremyashchy is very OP at tier 5. I doubt they'll sell it ever again unless they decide to nerf it first. Might end up as a prize ship for competitions at some point.

Sims is a good ship and very good in the hands of someone who knows how to use it. It's one of the most agile ships in the game and is a close range monster. The issue some have with it is how to get into close range with such a visible DD.

Yubari was a decent ship with a high fun factor, but she was nerfed hard where it really hurt. Now she's a curio and something you sail for sentimental value more than anything.

Something like the April fools pz 2j nightmare...

I shelled out 200 euro to buy the Pz2j and the Bt-Sv

Sometimes take mine out if I'm in toon with Arkansas betas but there are far more effective ijn premiums.

Other than mikasa it's the only poor ijn premium tbh

Having all of them in my port, there is just one I would buy again: The Grem-Reaper (as for reasons mentioned) :)

The Yubari is actually not worth it, slow turrets, not much damage output. The only thing it can do is AA cover but it used to be much better at that role as well.

The Sims isn't very interesting for me because there is the Mahan at tier VII. What the Sims is really good at is capping areas since it's fast, slightly better concealment and has good guns on close range. The additional gun range compared to the Mahan is imho not that usefull since you rarely hit anything at that range. Mahan got better Torps and has 3*4 tubes. I don't see a reason why I should prefer a Sims over a Mahan, except for credit grinding and Captain training.

Poll should have had an additional option at question 2: I already have them.”

Gremyashchy is challenged only by Minekaze for “best ship I’ve played in the game.”   Magnificent speed, guns are excellent, torpedoes not shabby and fair concealment make it an all-round bully, but with emphasis on gunnery.  Shocking how much stronger it is than the Tier V Soviet DD from the Tech Tree.  The one thing you have to do is plan ahead the direction of your engagements so you can bring the guns around in time.

If you have any doubt as to the strength of the Gremyashchy, consider that the Anshan is only a very slightly buffed Gremy, but still holds its own at Tier VI.

I like DDs but I’ve never got on with the Sims.  The Blysko is way better as a premium tier VII, and although my USN commander is way better than Capt. Siema I’ll take the Pole position.

Yubari just doesn’t do much for me anymore.  Lost interest in cruisers a while ago.

Not sure I think it's OP, more that the Gnevny should be better. That the Minekaze is good is no subject for debate and to me, the Nicholas is just as good as the Gremyashchy. What it lacks in shell trajectory and pure damage it makes up for in RoF and turret Training; the Gremy is better at range, but up close a Nicholas tears the Gremy up if played well to exploit The advantage in traverse. For torpedoes, the Nicholas lacks the range, but has the numbers, meaning it can fire many more, and at tier 5 maps are still tight enough and BB's inaccurate enough (not to mention player skill) to allow for close range torpedo atttacks or ambushes.

The Gnevvny, well it has the guns, but also the SN concealment penalty for firing and those hard to use 4 km torps, making it hard for it to excel in any area.

All that said, the Gremyachy is a great ship. Very powerful if played right at a tier where you can find easy targets both tier/uprades wise and in regards to player skill. The fact that the Nicholas is about as good for me doesn't detract. The others, I had both on my original account during CBT, the Yubari used to be semi-good vs air but has been nerfed to pieces since and doesn't really make sense anymore. The Sims, well it's pretty ok I guess, in the beginning it was an easy way to see what the US DD's would be like at something above beginner tiers, fast turrets, used to have crap torp range which is fixed, but torp speed is now horrible. All in all the non-premium US DD's are better though.

I've haven't voted, I only have the Sims, I don't even like it the most out of 1.  If you change the poll to 'which do I like the least' I'll vote.  :)
