bug Beta Tester 467 posts 13,407 battles Report post #1 Posted February 13, 2016 I just had a game where I was told I was a bad player because my stats were worse than his. He had hidden stats, so how could I tell? I am by no means an elite player, and I often play bad. That is not the point. The point is that if players hide their stats, its for a reason. They actively go to the point to remove the chance for others to see how they perform. This player must be very concerned with stats, as he checked mine and hid his own, isnt that rather... not fair? So, if players hide their stats, it must be easy to make it easy to hide other players stats from their leeching eyes as well? Dont show, no see?

Brett50 Beta Tester 236 posts 3,050 battles Report post #3 Posted February 13, 2016 it's too late for them to do anything about it in WoT but they can still do something about it in WoWS, like make it so that only people in your clan (if they ever actually implement them *Hint Hint WG*) or people on your friends list can see your stats
[BLOBS] StuntMan0369 Beta Tester 923 posts 4,848 battles Report post #4 Posted February 13, 2016 I will freely admit to using XVM in WoWs. Mainly because I see nothing wrong with it in the way I use it. I would never berate a player, simply because they have bad/worse stats than me. No matter how bad a player may/may not be, they could still have a great/poor game. I'm a victim of it, I play like dog mess on occasion and I've seen red rated players absolutely carry games. It just puts it into a more convenient display. I still don't see it's negative effect in WoWs via personal use, so I'll continue to use it whilst it's still possible (I heard 0.5.3 breaks it in some way? idk). bug Beta Tester 467 posts 13,407 battles Report post #7 Posted February 13, 2016 I am the OP, and I just want to say that this is no critick of having stats in the game, but of having some hiding theirs while still using it against others. I dont mind other players seeing my stats, I watch others as well. I find stats a good thing, it shows what ships they play, how often, and how good they do it. I dont use it against players, neither in chat or game. I dont pick out players to kill based on their stats. But have used it when I see strange tactics or get advices. If the player got good stats, I learned something new, if stats are bad I dont. Its mostly bad players that tend to tell others how to play, strangely. I have learned a lot by following the tactics or advices of good players. I just think that if they dont want others to see their stats, they should not be able to use (others) stats at all. aboch Beta Tester 452 posts 8,129 battles Report post #8 Posted February 13, 2016 I agree with OP, someone that hides his stats from others should not have any access in any way to someone else stats, easy as that. XVM in game is great. Made by now about 100 battles with it, not 1 single game where someone was accused about bad stats or similars, so it for sure has in no way the same impact like on WoT anyway. Beside that, it is the most usefull mode in game so far, finally until battle start you can make a choice whom to support or with who to go. Just makes sense to support or listen to a good player than a bad one. Just logical.

Besides getting an idea about the outcome of the battle. I do not hide my stats... If I see a player with hidden stats....he is very good. Only the good ones are really interested in hiding their stats, so I tell all on my team to target them first :-) rofl. I myself have hidden my stats, not because they are bad but because I believe it's nobody's business but my own and I have "bought out" of the whole stat/XVM world of male member measuring and toxicity. So bearing that in mind, why would I or indeed should I be able to look at the stats of others? If you hide your stats then continue to look at others then your being hypocritical at best.

But then I don't ever feel the need to compare mine with others as i play for fun. So tend to die a lot anyway. Do i care what other peoples stas are. Nope. Unless you have 1000's of battles they are meaningless anyway. They can be screwed by the type of ships you play, if you tend to division up all the time ETC,ETC So the sooner they hide them from everyone the better, Oh and by the way I am an average player as I have a 50% WR. Not that it matters much in this game as a s*** team can mean you lose anyway .
FaceFisted Beta Tester 868 posts 5,081 battles Report post #19 Posted February 14, 2016 I don't agree. It's enough that we can hide our stats. If you want to see others, why not? They have nothing to hide and are proud of their achievements. This will make more people hide them and in time, this trolling argument from xvm players will fade away. BUT I would suggest that you can't use XVM mod to see other players if your stats are hidden. Not sure if it's possible though. I hid my stats for one important reason - they are really good and XVM players tend to focus those good players first. I had the same problem back in WOT and I wanted from WG do enable feature like this one. Never happened there, but I am glad it's enabled here.

Since you hide your stats your Winrate has gone done 2%, still good of course anyway, but strange how all your stats are going down slowly but surely. At least for those who give the slightest damn about winning or losing. Im sure there are a fair few players out there, who have embraced potato and REALLY dont care about their stats. But generally speaking, most care to some degree. WG should have their own xvm that didnt require its players to use 3rd party software, that also requires updating with every patch.
