Here's the mod updated for Update 0.8.8.1. You should also be able to manually copy the files from res_mods/0.8.8.0 into res_mods/0.8.8.1, if you prefer, as nothing has changed with the camouflages, as far as I know.

Great work. Kremlin is fabulous !!!!

You made a so huge work, you know, you don't have to write my name on your new work (italian cruiser moodboard unique camouflage for example).

With the Italian cruisers coming to the game in Update 0.8.9, camouflages for the ships on tiers IV to VII have been added.

Also, I'd like to present my idea for the future development of this mod. As you may know, I have a second mod, which concentrates on special camouflages. That mod does not use an XML file, which makes it compatible with other mods, but which also means that some camouflages (e.g. Back to School) cannot be changed. What I would like to do is integrate my second mod into the Unique Camouflage mod. I could then change all camouflages, even those that were impossible to mod before:

1634598288_WoWS_UniqueCamouflagePlan.thumb.jpg.4de43488175c1b6501203401431a6826.jpg

I could still offer a legacy version of the Unique Camouflages that does not include the special camouflages and only has the regular Type 1/2/5 camouflages, like it is now. But would you be interested in this, or would you download the Unique Camouflages Plus anyway? Let me know.

My opinion to "unique Camouflae Plus" : Great plan, i would just download that complete package. No Need for a exclusive type 1/2/5 camo package.

I want to transform the Regia Marina cammo from the one that has now two tones of brown with one with two tones of blue/grey.

What is the name in the res_pac of the Regia Marina cammo to extract it and change its colors?

The Regia Marina camouflage is called "camo_Italian_Arc_tile" in the XML file, the texture is "Ship_dazzle_tile_Italian_Arc_camo_52.dds" And, without having looked at the camouflage in detail, it looks like the colour scheme also contains cooler greys that you could use.

I tried but the Regia Marina always stays in brown tone colors.

I wonder if the italian type 2 custom cammo could replace the Regia Marina one  by codding.

It has the right strapes and the right colors.

For Update 0.8.10, tiers VIII to X of the Italian cruiser tech tree get their camouflages.

Also, as announced a few weeks ago, this mod and TheKingOfUm's Camouflages mod (the other mod that I have been taking care of) have been combined to form the Unique Camouflage Plus mod. Since there were no objections to the plans, I intend to offer only this combined mod for download.

As a little welcome gift, a replacement texture for the Fall Cornucopia Camouflage has been added. It is based on camouflage patterns used by US landing craft in World War 2.

Next on the agenda: British heavy cruisers

The only i could manage for Regia Marina cammo is to use lighter brown tones and new patern. All available colors give Regia Marina brown results.

Oh, I see. If you want to use a pattern like that, I would suggest editing the camouflages.xml. The standard settings for this camouflage include a very small scale for the textures on the range finders, which lets them look really out of place (for example the range finder right in front of the bridge). By changing the camouflages.xml, you could fix that (in addition to changing the colours).

The standard entry for that camouflage looks like this:

Quote

<camouflage>
  <annotation>Italian_Arc_tile camouflage block for the ships with a texture 2048*2048, 4096*4096, 4096*4096+2048*2048</annotation>
  <name>camo_Italian_Arc_tile</name>
  <tiled>true</tiled>
  <UV>
    <Tile>2 2</Tile>
    <DeckHouse>2 2</DeckHouse>
    <Gun>0.6 0.6</Gun>
    <Bulge>1 1</Bulge>
  </UV>
  <Textures>
    <Tile>content/gameplay/common/camouflage/textures/Ship_dazzle_tile_Italian_Arc_camo_52.dds</Tile>
  </Textures>
  <colorSchemes>colorSchemeITAP07</colorSchemes>
</camouflage>

So the colour scheme that you want to change is this:

Quote

<!--//ITA UNIQUE Duca degli Abruzzi colour scheme 07-->
<colorScheme>
  <name>colorSchemeITAP07</name>
  <color0>0.056 0.046 0.057 1.000</color0>
  <color1>0.056 0.046 0.057 1.000</color1>
  <color2>0.280 0.236 0.194 1.000</color2>
  <color3>0.056 0.046 0.057 1.000</color3>
</colorScheme>

The colours 0 to 3 are the colours in the DDS texture file (0=black, 1=red, 2=green, 3=blue). The numerical values are the RGBA values with which the colour in the texture should be replaced. 0.000 is the lowest value, 1.000 is the highest. So if you want to get a cool grey, you start with a neutral grey, e.g. <color0>0.200 0.200 0.200 1.000</color0> and add a bit more blue to the mix, e.g. <color0>0.200 0.200 0.260 1.000</color0>. Then you can make the colour lighter by increasing all values, e.g. <color0>0.250 0.250 0.310 1.000</color0> or darker by reducing all values, e.g. <color0>0.150 0.150 0.210 1.000</color0> You'll probably need to experiment a bit until you get there.

Then, while you're in the XML file, you can also fix the range finder texture scaling. If no separate value is given, range finders and other miscellaneous objects use the value given for the guns. By adding a seperate entry for the range finders and, for good measure for the miscellaneous objects as well, you can use different values, like so:

Quote

<camouflage>
  <annotation>Italian_Arc_tile camouflage block for the ships with a texture 2048*2048, 4096*4096, 4096*4096+2048*2048</annotation>
  <name>camo_Italian_Arc_tile</name>
  <tiled>true</tiled>
  <UV>
    <Tile>2 2</Tile>
    <DeckHouse>2 2</DeckHouse>
    <Gun>0.6 0.6</Gun>
    <Bulge>1 1</Bulge>
    <Director>0.15 0.15</Director>
    <Misc>0.15 0.15</Misc>

  </UV>
  <Textures>
    <Tile>content/gameplay/common/camouflage/textures/Ship_dazzle_tile_Italian_Arc_camo_52.dds</Tile>
  </Textures>
  <colorSchemes>colorSchemeITAP07</colorSchemes>
</camouflage>

The first value is horizontal scaling, the second value is vertical scaling. Again, you probably will need to experiment a bit until you're happy, but you will obviously want a value that's significantly lower than <Gun>. Keep in mind that there are several entries for the camouflage for the different ship groups and you need to add those lines in every camouflage entry.

Good luck :cap_like:

Thank you again. I did something simplier. I found the color entries of the Zara unique cammo and coppied them to Regia Marina's ones.

Now what remains is to chose a rather realistic patern . Thanks again.

EDIT: Regia Marina final cut.

Update 0.8.11, apart from little tweaks, brings just one new camouflage. The Back to School pattern changes from a yellow camouflage (like a US school bus) to a camouflage that's intended to intimidate and confuse the observer (like a math exam).

In the meantime, thanks to Wargaming giving us mod makers access to super test ships, and thanks to me finally almost catching up with the pace of new lines being added to the game, I'm currently preparing the Royal Navy heavy cruisers before release. Actual photo from my actual workshop:

One last thing: If you prefer to get your mods from a modpack instead of the forums, you can now install this mod using Aslain's Modpack.

The British heavy cruisers are coming to the game with Update 0.9.0, and to this mod as well. I'm very happy to report that the whole line from tier V to tier X is finished and included right from the start.

Also, the Union Jack camouflage, which you'll be seeing a lot in this update, has been improved.

Next on the agenda are the Swedish destroyers and some special camouflages that still have a lot of room for improvement.

In the meantime, this mod was added to Wargaming's official ModStation, so if you'd rather get the camouflages from there, now you can. Aslain's Modpack and of course this forum thread are available as well.

Following your lessons here is my version of the Victorian cammo for Devonshire. Its inspired from the latest unique cammo for Leander that uses the official British cammo colors (like Vanguard ). The 2nd picture shows Exeter with its cammo patern with the same British colors.

EDIT: I don't have your expirience to make deck cammo changes to follow the realism but the 3rd image is from the real Devonshire and I atleast made the hull like it  4th image.

Looks good! I had not realized beforehand that the white/yellow Victorian camouflages include a big Royal Navy advertising board. I'll have to remove those in the next update of the mod.

Update 0.9.1 of this mod removes the "Royal Navy" logotype from the Victorian camouflages for the heavy cruisers. Also, the Halloween 2016 Camouflage has been updated from the very dark colours that it had in this mod. I quite like the original pattern (but not the original colours).

1347612238_WoWS_UniqueCamouflagePlusHalloween206.thumb.jpg.d8a3449b92eadcd6c89d35b64a69bd94.jpg

At the moment, I'm mostly working behind the scenes, making camouflages for the Swedish destroyers and trying to come up with Ikea jokes, so that I'll have something ready to post when the line becomes available in the game. However, WG apparently has activated the reload booster consumable for new ships (seriously, another new line after two months?), and I'm not going to sacrifice the quality of the mod or the quality of my life to keep up with that schedule. So we'll see how many camouflages I'll be able to publish in four weeks' time.

The Type 5 patterns start out with historically inspired grey/green/blue designs and transition to blueish splinter patterns. This is the current plan:

I think this is true of many of the camouflages; the overall design would be fine if it wasn't for the outlandish colour scheme employed.  Eventually, I'd prefer to see a much more muted colour palette for all the 'special' camouflages.  However, I am enjoying following this mod's development and I've done so since the Wawan days.  It's great stuff and it's good that you're keeping it going when so many other talented modders have already given up for one reason or another.

Update 0.9.1.1 for this mod literally just changes the "0" in the folder name to a "1", so if you don't want to download this again, you can just move the installed mod files from 0.9.1.0 to 0.9.1.1 yourself.

As Update 0.9.2 brings the Swedish destroyers, Type 1/2/5 camouflages for the new destroyers on tier IV to IX have been added to the mod. I have mostly gone through with the plan that I posted in the last update.

For the next update, I want to have Halland at tier X ready as well. Also, I still need to make camouflages for tiers IX and X of the Japanese gunboat destroyers and the French battleships. Those had been on the back burner for the past one and a half years while I was trying to catch up with the new lines in the game, so I hope that now I can squeeze them in during the next updates.
