Its been a while since I played but after seeing Project R I just had to jump in on the fun. Its been 3 weeks since I jumped in and most of the times Im out in my, still deadly and trusted, Iwaki Alpha. After 3 weeks I have only spotted one of its sisters and Ive lost count of how many people asked me wtf I was sailing in. Are they extinct? Are they docked forever in someones port? My ship misses its sisters, let them out!

I've been using mine recently, I'd be playing more but I'm too busy with other work. There's never been very many Iwakis about

Well, the Iwaki is not that usefull, it is okay, but it doesn't really have anything that makes it stand out except the torps and smoke, and with that concealment torps aren't that usefull.

The thing is, it is a cruiser that wants to be a destroyer.

Also, most alpha testers have either left or play at the higher tiers. Still got mine and will never sell it, but I see no reason to play it when a St Louise can just wreck it, other than the odd time I want to brag and show it to the world :teethhappy:

I still sail mine! :izmena: And she is as good as ever. However it is true, it is one of the more rare ships to spot. Last time i faced one was at the start of the open beta...

I even have trouble spotting the Arkansas. Not enough pride in being a tester damn it =p

I sortie mine from time to time, I didn't liked her at first (as I don't like Tenryuu at all) but now that I learnt to play her she is one of my stress relief ship.

And I like when players have no idea of what is this ship, then panic when they see the smoke. :P

Saw a couple when people were doing the low-tier missions for pearls.

Killed one of them :D  In an Arkansas.  Oh the irony.

Wish I'd been included in the Alpha.  Envy...

Iwaki is more worth for me. US BB are frustrating due to the speed. And Iwaki can send them to hell in one torpedo salvo, while being much more "kumaesque" in her gameplay. Lots of fun.

The reload time of its guns is great. Almost to the point of spamming my targets.

Of about 500-600k people that have registered in EU only 2,5k have the Iwaki, it's normal that you don't see her.

I don't know where you got that figure from, on EU there are a tracked 484 Iwaki Alphas, that's all

According to my maths, that's only 33%. No wonder they're a rarity.

(But I could be wrong! Maths was never my strong point; 50% of the time I get it right, 50% of the time I get it wrong and 50% of the time I think I know it but never quite seem to get the there, so don't quote me!)

484 Iwakis after the start of OBT. You don't know how many Alphas left the game before that, didn't play to begin with, never sortied their Iwaki Alphas or even sold her.

The number you are looking for is the total number of Alpha testers throughout the whole test because each one should had received one.

I still got my Iwaki Alpha but in 20 or so instances when I played it, I never managed to score even a decent match, the ship has humongous citadels, it's way too large, difficult to play as DD but impossible to play as cruiser as well, plus it catches on fire faster than an oil-drenched wooden ship.

Being in the Alpha didn't guarantee an Iwaki, you had to play a specified amount of games for it.
