Remember when everyone said it's impossible to cheat?

My friend who also plays just sent me this. Names blurred out to avoid any accusations or tracing. This isn't a troll post for once, it's a simple matter of fact. He tells me the aim-assist is accurate, very good, and most of all, free, easy to use, and untraceable. You can see in his text chat that the shot was taken today so it's not an old picture. He's been using it since the stable release in December last year.

Something needs to be done to make this type of cheating much harder to accomplish.

As you can see, it gives permanent details of all ship speeds (something which I don't think can be set in the options of the normal game). The white circle is your aim-point. It moves as the ship moves. You can see in picture one, that it provides perfect opportunity for hitting stuff though/over cover aswell.

I'd love to post the screenshot with the names but I'm afriad WG forums do not permit naming & shaming.

I will also not post the link of where he got it from, because that just opens it up to everyone to use.

Seriosuly there are so many people using all kind of visual aids crosshair, shell trails, neon torpedos that is not stock/vanilla that a mod like this doesn't even bother me, a cheat is a cheat no matter what. just cause some use full on chase the dot compared to some using other types of visual aids, this crap aint gonna stop until WG just bans all kind of crosshair mods, shell type trailers, neon torpedo lightning and what else people can dream up of that is "not cheats, they are mods"....

Yes, cause coloring the shell blue or green makes it fly into a citadel more easily? Or a cross-hair that looks different gives you the lead to hit the enemy citadel if RNG decides to?

Wow, never knew that.

A Crosshair does not tell you where to shoot.

Moderators, pls nuke this thread.

The matter of fact is that he has no clue about estetic improvements and the called cheat programmes. I hate ppl who cannot differenciate in between the two concepts. Its sad.

You see all those lines in that scope?, guess what they take out of the calculation.

And instantly knowing if ap or he is incoming is an advantage, since stock he or ap is hard to see difference at distance.

still rather have someone using this than aim assist mod against me, by far.

No, but it makes it much easier to notice if the shells hitting you are HE or AP.

Map mod. Totally destroys destroyer's gameplay if there is a smart guy on enemy team using it. If the destroyers gets spotted once its position on the map will stay for the whole game. If it got spotted, with just one glance at the map you can see what destroyer is/isn't on your side of the map and adjust your gameplay accordingly. Destroyers at least partly depend on surprising enemies, and the map mod destroys it.

Before someone says WoT has it by default. It didn't before, WG introduced it when game was already 2 years (I think) old. And in tanks it's not as useful because even the slowest tank can (relatively) cross the map faster than the fastest ships here - and fastest tanks do it in half a minute.

Navigator mod. Tells you your exact angle to focused ship and its exact angle too... how can't you call that an advantage? Sometimes it's hard to see if a ship is sailing towards or away from you on an angle... this mod removes any confusion.

XVM. Do I even need to say anything?

etc etc etc. There are a lot of mods that OBVIOUSLY give you much more information than vanilla client does. Information you can use to win. Information people with no mods don't get (at least not at a glance).

I'd prefer WG banned all mods that gave some advantage over people who aren't using them... Just leave ship skin mods, port mods and voice mods. Anything that affects gameplay itself should be banned.

ShockPirat made a good point.

This is just my view on it. not my view on what ShockPirat wrote. but on mods in general.

You cant allow various degrees of assistance in the game that is the problem. there are people that use something as simple as the full line scope. it just extends the basic scope making the line go across the entire screen. the problem with this is that is gives an advantage even if it is the most miniscule advantage ever it is still an advantage. and then there is this aim assitance mod that give you a red line and a circle to chase giving you a clear cut advantage. the problem is that they both give assistance and an advantage over people runing stock clients. Sadly I would even push further then Shock and say that even skins would have to be banned. I haven't seen any hitskins or whiteskins yet but World of Tanks have turned me cynical, so that I would even try to deny people fun skins for their ships. Port mods are OK I guess.

Why not just remove mods entirely since they are the root of the problem?

I guess WG thinks doing that now would drive more people away than aim mod does already. Their mistake was allowing mods in the first place. Both for WoT and WoWs.

And it still wouldn't fully stop some determined modders. It is possible to install aim mod as third party I think...

Agree. I would prefer if all these mods just stopped working, but it won't happen.

I got no problem playing vanilla and do well, and if some guy has to use a mod to even be able to hit me, then that just shows how bad they are. Just makes it more satisfying when I end up wrecking their [edited]anyway.
