So had a break for a while and played some Tanks for a few weeks as to be honest certain mechanics of this game were driving me insane. only to return today a bit rusty and a tad eager and full of enthusiasm, hence made a couple of mistakes that usually I wouldn't have. only to be insulted and sworn at on online chat something ridiculous! F..ing Here F...ing There.. pretty much all the time. replied That I was a tad rusty and to calm down only to be told to get lost ruin someone else's game etc etc F..ing Noob. (Only to look up there stats and they have played less games than me!!) What do they think that we are all instantly experts? Are we flipping born Fully Grown!!!

Is it my imagination or since the abuse thread telling people that abuse is not tolerated came out ....the abuse has just got worse.!!!? It shouldn't bother me and it hasn't before but that really Pissed me off To the point where actually.. sod tanks sod ships im uninstalling both until that is you ban People PERIOD who abuse others online. WG you need to get a hold on this stop thinking of the money and regain control because its ridiculous!!! yes I could grow a thicker Skin AND YES ITS JUST A GAME  etc etc but you know what...I shouldn't flipping have too!!!!!! The Reason its still rife is because you wont do what needs to be done..   Period.

you know what they say, power corrupt, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

wargaming have power over the game, so they dont feel like anything is wrong

Long story short, its your imagination :)

While some toxicity occurs now and then, I do not see any actual increase compared to previous months.

It is always dangerous to make conclusions based on 1-2 games. If they manage to make you so upset than I am sorry to say but you are better off finding a single player game to play.

The pace is so different in tanks, I sympathise on the adaption curve when you switch between the games.

In terms of abuse, whatever you do in life there is always an angry jerk.

Saying "sorry, I messed up" can pull the teeth out of the situation.

On the other hand you recognise that you made a mistake. Pound to a penny the guy abusing you doesn't have that level of self awareness.

Relax, it's a game, just club some seals till you have your eye in again and take delight in killing him if you meet him again in either game.

TBH there is a little toxicity that I see but its not major. Some swearing, a little personal abuse but thats it. easily ignorable

Idiocy on the other hand is growing. my favourite from today:

a lemming train of 8 ships headed into one corner chasing a carrier while my CL attempts to hold the other flank against 2bbs 2 CLs and a dd. they ignore cries for help, sail through the enemy cap WHILE I am repeatedly resetting our cap, out the other side at about 90% and go chasing the other carrier.

mistakes happen, bad decisions get made, tunnel vision descends - been there done that ... but seriously?

Have got sick of it myself - pleased to say that it is not usually aimed at me but I find the swearing and insults extremely unpleasant so have had a couple of days of simply playing PvE - only the odd idiot there and although much less challenging, it is simply far more enjoyable. I'll no doubt go back to Random but the alternative was to just walk away which I didn't want to do.

There's another way to deal with it. Or actually two other ways:

1. Turn off chat.

2. Blacklist people who are being mongoloids.

Unless I'm mistaken in assuming that also puts them on ignore.

The problem is that chat can be useful so I don't want to turn it off. I always play solo but try to help my team mates as far as possible. I suppose one answer is to division up but I am not sure I am ready for that!

It's PvP multiplayer, people will go bananas. Learn to accept it, learn to tease them for it, learn to always have some snack at hand to munch when the drama spins up, learn to love it.

It's not going away, might aswell make it into entertainment. And personally, I don't find it to be a serious issue in this game. The level of self-appointed drill seargents, etc. is about average at worst, so nothing that would stand out against the masses of online multiplayer games.

Like CV stubbornly refusing to move an inch despite of enemies pushing one flank and having been on approach course for minutes?

Or in Strait CV just running toward that middle cap?

Those are signs that player should never be given any ship except some old leaky rowing boat.

It's interesting that for me it was the other way around. I played a few WoT matches for the first time in over a year and the amount of abuse there was mindblowing. Not comparable (IMO) to WoWs at all.

Agree - but also had a couple of CVs recently who decided to go all Kamikaze and ended up in B on Lands of Fire! They died! However although not a great idea, I still wouldn't insult them!

oh something i heard today. There was a CV in our team who wasnt spotting the enemy DDs and there were 4 DDs at enemy team. I told our CV to spot the DDs. He didnt do that and he didnt answer. I told him second time. He didnt do and didnt answer. DDs got 5 kills in total and i couldnt hold myself anymore and i said him everything that came to my mind first. And do you know what he did say to me. "I wont fly my planes over DDs for you" .

So i ask you what would you do in that situation?  what would you call that CV player?

He is clearly an idiot as the DDs will be after him! I suppose I would report him for playing badly if he caused us to lose.

It's frustrating, yes.

But then again, some people play more than one type of ship and maybe they haven't quite learned yet that they need to stay mobile. Do you play CVs?

Frozen-CV syndrome is certainly far more frequent at tier 4 than at tier 8 in my experience.

Did they claim to be out of planes?

Once had one such *** CV player donate point victory to enemy by suiciding "because he was out of planes".

Good news: we also have xvm in Ships. So expect a lot of name calling before the round has even started in the near future. And probably even "20% chance to win, game is lost, bye".

To the OP.

Do you know what is stunning? I will tell you. Stunning is that a human with an IQ of over 60 can get offended by games chat. And you know what is even more stunning? That a human with an IQ of over 60 can think, that there should be tolerance to his mistakes in online video game, where people go to have fun and win. You made a mistake, now read some insults. Its PERFECTLY normal and even more deserved.

If you dont like it do something else. Go to your room, draw a circle on the floor, put a big sign that this is a "SAFE ZONE" AND you can ONLY be called greatest man that ever lived, god among man and/or best of the best.

Good luck and stay away from real world, there are no safe zones there for special snowflakes like you.

To start... the amount of games you play does not = how good/bad you are.   This game imho works at its best when teams play as a team... hard to do on random games as you get a mix bunch of players... and some players are quite at home yoloing in to the enemy instead of supporting the team.

I have found that the best way for me to play the game now, is not to go and fight in x location with x class of ship as if the rest of your team dont want to do all you find your self doing is dead and blaming players.    so what i tend to do now is support players no mater how bad they are if you support them you find that the game goes your way more.... damaged shared taken and damaged caused by focus fire can be a massive factor in winning and having a great game.   you also got to remeber in wows its not so easy to carry wile playing solo and you cant win all your games. and of course we all make mistakes.

and at the end of the day if i got a player being toxic to me i just ignore it... to busy enjoying the game to worry about some kiddie getting upset with me :)

Edit: also i find playing in platoons a great way to enjoy this game.. WoWS is great because WoWS provide a teamspeak server for you to use to meet fellow players and to platoon up :)

Not a surprise reading this seeing as you are one of the worst and already earned a place on my block list with your potty mouth. I am quite impressed that you could write 5 lines without abuse though....well done. :great:

Yesterday had a game in my Nagato, after 5 frustrating games where i tried to push and tank for my team only to find everyone behind me had ran away, i decided that this time i'd play with a degree of caution, patrolling up and down the line of caps shooting anything that came into range, had a good fight with a Colorado, took 61000 of his health only to see in chat that a BB captain on our team was screaming at me to do this or that, i had been fully occupied in the battle and didn't take much notice of what he was saying until the " report Mike_864" came up...?? then " report Mike for being a bot " WTF..!! had enough time to type " what for?" when the game ended. We won, i came 2nd on team and the BB guy was 5th or 6th. Back in port a message read " you have been reported" came up, lost my only karma point as result ( got it back next game ) I was taken aback by this as it's the first time in over 1600 battles it has happened,,,!! why call me a bot?

Not exactly toxic chat but the result was disapointing to say the least
