I put together a small video to highlight a new feature of Aslain's modpack that I am not sure everyone is aware of.  I am interested to get peoples feedback regarding this.  Leave some comments and let me know if you all plan to use the in-game statistics or if you plan to steer clear of in-game statistics.

Spread the words about a mod which so many people believe would ruin the community.

How so?

I have been using Aslain's mod for some time and see nothing in it that "would ruin the community."

Or is it the stats option you don't like?............:hmm:

Yes, it is quite unfortunate. Some players do not want their stats visible, and will then turn them off. This will make the statistical information we can get from the open material more unreliable, and takes away some of our chances to adress issues of unbalance. A most unndesirable development.

The problem is arguing about stats in game instead of sinking the enemy.

What he Said !!

Stats and the viewing of them isnt in itself negative OR positive. Its how people choose to focus on the colours. If you dont want the mod, Dont use it. Its the same in WOT. Trolling in chat and negativity needs to be focused on something, just ignore it and carry on. If the chat becomes toxic, Remove it. Ta Da! problem solved!

As long as You are having fun playing the game, you're doing OK.

If the chat is toxic, you need to remove the toxic ragers, not expect everyone else to turn off chat.

Merciflly the chat in WoWs still sees less abuse than in WoT, imo.

No, but with the option for turning off stats AND the incentive to do so the community does not get the stats as before, and that makes it harder to follow up WG on their decisions.

When I played World of Tanks I had the chat turned off.  Not because it centered around XVM and stats but more so because people were just typing about nothing or raging at people for getting killed so quickly and it was distracting.  I would have my friends in vent tell me if there was actually something important that I needed to react to.  :)

I understand that this topic is polarizing, people general really dislike in-game stats or they really like in-game stats.  I appreciate everyone's feedback on this, I find it interesting.

The crap that spewed out of everyone's mouth is why I disabled the chat on WOT aswell.

i didn't mean "if you choose to use the mod, turn off chat" I meant if the trolls in game want to rage and spew verbal dihorea, they will! Either about an aim bot, XVM, the cold weather, any excuse they can find. It's a game built for fun, so if the crap people say in chat hinders your fun, remove it. Personally I never single people out because they are good or bad players. I'll always offer advise in a polite and friendly manner in game to people who seem a little "green". If they choose to take in on board, great! If I get told to mind my own, I do ( and bear no ill will for being told so either ) .

lifes too short to stress man!

As someone stated it before, the problem is how people are using this mod. I know of players in WoT that leave the battle in the instance they think that their team is full of noobs and can't win anyway. That wouldn't be a problem if they wouldn't be needed to win the battle (not neccessarily, but likely). If those players would need to pay the full repair and additionally would loose some XP for such an action (leaving willingly before dying), then at last this problem would be solved.

I think, that these stats will fuel the flaming in the chats. Until now most games are without flames, but with this mod I see a time coming with flames in all the games.

Remove it. Ta Da! problem solved!

No, problem not solved, problem ignored. Gratulations you should become a polititian, that's the perfect answer for one. Never solve problems, just make illogical solutions for a symptom, not the problem itself. How will you communicate with your teammates if the chat is disabled? Lte me think, its impossible, but the chat is one tool for a good teamplay. Some players use it and I was in teams where all were using it with great success.

Just to show the other side of the mod. My colleague uses the mod to follow the better players as he doesn't know where to go on a map in WoT he assumes, that those players will lead him to the battle.

My point is ( and I really didn't want to say this ) "haters gonna hate!"

in an ideal world where everyone was interested in teamwork and making friends and hugging puppies, you are correct!

All on line games are full of people who are going to blame something else for their own bad luck or bad playing style,

"my team are all noobs" or "my team is full of pink players" "MM suck!"

Its impossible to please or silence them.

That leaves putting up with the chat or turning it off. My platoon mates keep me posted of anything in the chat over TeamSpeak so communication is never an issue for me .

i don't think I give politicians answers, I'm a realist and there isn't enough time left in existence to appease the trolls that want to rant and rave at every hiccup they encounter in game.

this is just my opinion, just like you, I'm entitled to mine.

Those who decide to keep their stats private it is fine for me, but in the same time their word in discussion about the gameplay has no weight since obviously they want to keep something hidden from others.

Meaning you do not value reasons itself, but their source?

Maybe you should listen more to the content and less to the package.

A) Hide stats to make it harder for people using XVM to make an assessment of the level of threat I might pose.  Person X doesn't value my opinion

B) Keep them unhidden, suffer the consequences.  Person X kinds of values my opinion more... however they will check my stats and then perhaps tell my my opinion is invalid if they don't approve of what they see there.

Hmmm... what to do? :hmm:

Yep, exactly. The main reason for to stop doing the statistics galore :(

No, no, no, no, no...

This wasn't intended by WG to be a part of the game, so I don't think WG should allow modders to inject this into their game for anyone.

All this will serve to do, is spoil the fun, yes FUN, of the game for anyone who is targeted by the enemy team, just because the enemy team, "think" he/she is a threat...

This modding rubbish spoils the game, every one should be playing with the same information, graphics and options.. that is one main way to keep the game BALANCED for everyone.

Seeing more information about your enemy doesn't give you an advantage over them ? Yeah right....

Nope, you're politician.

If you were realist you would know showing player stats in game is just going to create more problems than solve.

Disabling chat will do nothing to those who decide go AKF/quite because of MM.

Nope, I'm actually an ice cream man pal

At the end of the day, numbers are numbers. No number is evil or creates a problem, it's what you do with the number that makes it an issue. Stats are just numbers and it's how the trolls use them that is the issue. What I'm saying is if you remove or ban the mod, the trolls will just moan about something else.

Wait, when everyone turns off the chat, who informs you about the valueable information from the teammates, which are not in your division? No one, right? So teamplay takes great harm.

You're right, there will always be trolls in our games there is even a special form of troll, teamkillers. We all have our problem with the matchmaker, as it isn't working as good as we would wish. But this is something else. Players who might (I say might) play calmly and do there best, start flaming from the beginning or value the value of a player by its stats. If you could disable one player in the game for your chat, I would say acceptable. Disable the whole chat is for sure not even nearly a solution. It creates as many problems as it seem to solve.

Teamspeak is only a solution for your division, but not to communicate with the whole team.

The other problem is, that those stats never show the real experience of a player.

My point is ( and I really didn't want to say this ) "haters gonna hate!"

in an ideal world where everyone was interested in teamwork and making friends and hugging puppies, you are correct!

"my team are all noobs" or "my team is full of pink players" "MM suck!"

Its impossible to please or silence them.

You're right, haters gonna hate and many will always search the mistake at other people and not semthelves, as they are perfect. But such a listing will fuel there hate and when they will keep quiet or just say, you're all noobs, this kind of mod will give them special players to blame, not the whole team. This is much more dangerous then just attacking the team. Most people that are pointed out and being attacked tend to defend themselves and attack on their own. When the team is addressed they just say, oh no another one of those, but keep quit. I think such a mod is working against the well known sentence, "Don't feed the trolls." This mod is feeding them.

So you make out of a simple number without or with only a small meaning a weapon for the trolls.

(You just wrote it, I got it by mail)

The trolls will just moan about something else

Yes, but they must find something to troll about. With this mod you give them the weapon to destroy every game they are in, as there is always someone with low stats in the game. And with the posibility to make the stats invisible, most of those trolls, will have their stats invisible.

Mine Just Doesnt really work i get some sort of weird error message when installing in 5.2.2 and 5.2.3

Doesn't make Skins, Starting video and Prinz Eugen Interface show up.

But Battle stats and dmg like xvm for WoT works like a charm

i will... sorry. Didn't mean to offend your superior intellect...

I'm actually Quality Manager for a tier 1 automotive supplier in the UK who deals with statistics (S.P.C) on an hourly basis,  But like you say, i should learn my place. Sorry

Still politician, you didn't say anything about how to prevent more AFKs/quitting match when not liking MM.
