[2DQT] RUSSIANBlAS Players 8,241 posts Report post #276 Posted January 14, 2017 (edited) Fine ship... In fact it's my ship of choice for that 500k credits in 1 game Convoy mission. Has an excellent credit multiplier it seems. And have some screenshots. It is an extremely situational ship, you have to island hug like mad. Open water=instant death. There was a reddit post a few days ago, can't find it again but it's of a Unicum Altanta player uploading the top locations to loiter in on each map. Those guides have led me to the above scores. There's certain points on every map where you can camp behind an island and let your team spot for you. From there you can do a simply obscene amount of damage and the enemy cannot even see you. One of those games I did 30k damage to a Scharn, Bismarck and Cleveland. None of which could do anything about it. I may even decide to try and grind the Flint, an Atlanta with good torpedoes and smoke would simply be op in the right hands... [SLEEP] Yankmyplank Players 127 posts 29,999 battles Report post #277 Posted January 14, 2017 Ill just drop on the subject of "printing money". Atlanta is not a moneymaker. In fact there are only 2 ships that are real moneymakers. If you want to make silvers, buy a Tirpitz or Atago. Dont get me wrong. I own a few premiums, bought mostly for the fun of using them. I have Atlanta, that i occasionally take out for a spin when i feel like firing fast (and honestly, after putting 200 hits in a target for 20k damage im done for few weeks - this ship IS crap). I have Murmansk, which is a blast to play. I have Nikolai, and i watch/try Blyskawica and Warspite on my bro's account. They are all earning nice silvers, but its nowhere close to the 2 mentioned. It is something that started with WoT. I had a lot of premium tanks there too - some were super fun. But only tier 8 premiums (there were no t9 premiums when i played, maybe it changed, i wouldnt know), were making real cash. The difference was enormous between t8 and anything else. Its same here. Sure i had 500k battles in murmansk, They happen (so did a 470k battle in a Pensacola). But on Atago my average is 650k on a win, and 400 on a loss. I play Atago now on rankeds (and i really recommend it . Cruisers might not be the best class to "carry" a ranked battle, but Atago is hands down best cruiser, so you wont "drag your team down", but the opposite. It also has instant queues). I got a 1.150.000 earning battle in RANKED - with 7 targets to shoot at. So yes if you want a money printer get an Atago from shop - its actually not an exciting ship. Its good, id say very good, but it doesnt excel at anything (maybe you can say it excels at camo). But it works, and it makes you filthy rich. Or wait for a bundle for Tirpitz or Kutuzow (i havent tried it , but i expect as t8 its also a money printer). What Im also getting at - WG buffed Atago. I expect they will get to buffing Atlanta (soon tm). There are plenty ways of buffing it without making any "unhistorical" alterations. Improve its camo drastically (so its around the level of russian DDs), improve the shell arc. Improve the fire chance. Improve the torpedoes. They will get this ship usable i think. BUT, even when it will get strong and fun to play, it will NOT be a money printer - simply because its t7. Kutuzov makes me more credits than my tirpitz, but harder to play, it has fantastic range and RoF but does very little damage, now and again you will citadel a cruiser but generally spam HE and let them burn, thats the best way to accumulate damage. As for the Atlanta I would like to purchase it, but 11km range is less than most DD's you will come up against, so I cannot actuaaly see where it fits in other than baby sitting BBs that have no AA, or simply staying with CV for DD protection and AA cover. Not something I am willing to spend real money tbh.

[2DQT] RUSSIANBlAS Players 8,241 posts Report post #279 Posted January 14, 2017 Just wondering, any of you in public test, have you tried Inertia Fuse with Atlanta? At a guess she wouldn't need it. The fire chance is needed and the direct damage isn't shabby at closer ranges either. Mind you, fires are not an issue when you can literally land dozens of hits every minute... anonym_MfZ6T7iwWpUC Players 1,139 posts Report post #280 Posted January 18, 2017 I would love to try the Atlanta. Truth is, I am just nowhere near good enough. I still see plenty of them in games. If the Dido ever gets into the game, I expect her to play just like the Atlanta.
[DITA] _Fusionhero_ Players 5 posts 3,537 battles Report post #281 Posted January 19, 2017 Got a Atlanta for 2-3 months now. I love it. Its a ship you need to play with your brain. Its not a easy ship and its not a beginner ship! This ship requires experience and patience! The shell arc is terrible but on the other hand its great. Why? you can shoot over islands while other people cant shoot back. You dont need armor when you have a Island next to you. It can destroy DD's in 2-3 salvo's! That will take you only 13.5 seconds! Its a fun ship with a complete different gameplay than almost every other ship in the game. Do you hate CV's? Atlanta is your biggest friend!

Elo_Naj Players 121 posts 7,221 battles Report post #283 Posted January 21, 2017 (edited) Well I do not own it but atlanta is a major pain to play against, if people know what they do with this thing it is squishy and deals a lot of fires. So I would say if you are able to use unorthodox ships you will love her and wrack havoc. Edited January 21, 2017 by Elo_Naj
