Today i had a weird experience and here is what happened: Suddenly in the chat someone start to complain ( in "ALL" section ) that aim assist mod now screw the manual aim and if anyone else have the issue. I was sure that people will curse him and threaten to report however on my surprise on both side people respond about like it was the most normal thing in life. I dared asked how many are using the thing and turn out most of them had. In a tier 9 match... about 18 of them were using it and i got advised to install it too. Now,in the next match in asked directly and again most of them were using it, the match was tier 6. Is this aim assist now legal AND mandatory ? Was not like this when i took a pause, like 4 months ago.. [SCRUB] Aotearas Players 8,460 posts 13,076 battles Report post #18 Posted January 18, 2016 Gunnery is exceedingly simple in WoWS and the most important part to it, that being prediction, doesn't work with aim assists because they can only show were a ship is heading to at any given moment, not where its going to turn to in the next second. The only true advantage aim assist has over regular shooting is that if the target is sailing on a straight course, a regular player might need a ranging shot, so the aimassist only really adds one salvo of effective firepower even under optimal conditions. Plus, anyone who got to tier IX without learning how to shoot is quite possibly the same kind of player who's going to show you his broadside whilst he's training all his available guns at you, which I'm certain spells doom rather quickly at that tier. And when a large number of people claim they use an Aimassist, they trolling. Most people have no trouble whatsoever to hit me ( in a BB anyways) as my playstyle takes the entire "brawler" thing to the next level, when i get close enough to poke them with pitchforks. Dont know if its true though... Aslain's mod is approved. But that one only changes aiming reticules. It's cosmetic. Any form of actual aim assist (i.e.: an injector that calculates enemy hitbox, bearing and your shell velocity to give you a marker to point at and shoot) is a bannable offense.
