I had a battle in my FLetcher where I received first blood and 2 devastating strikes....top player. I never used chat and carried team quite hard but received 2 reports from what I assume is the enemy team. It gives me a good feeling in my heart knowing I made someone so mad :)

Poop happens wax, people are victims of their own emotions and will try to 'punish' the person that killed them by using the report feature. Play well? Well then expect to be reported, play badly, expect the same. Catch 22.

I have a 1 Karma point next to my name, cant see what this means, there is no explanation, is it good or bad?

I think the higher the number, the more positive karma.

Its the result of good karma minus bad karma.

You have one more good karma than bad karma.

Considering how rarely you get good karma, it shows that you are doing a good job.

it is supposed to be a punishable offence to abuse the report system ( reporting someone simply because they killed you or some other nonsense would fall into this category) of course its impossible to Police, if you upset an idiot Platoon who then use ALL their reports in 1 go it can get YOU banned. How many times do you witness some one saying 'reported' in chat ? and how many times is it just some nonsense that is going on...I'd say 90% of the time it really is nothing. I have never played a game with so much shiz-en flying about. I had 6 karma points at one point....now none & a 48hr chat ban to boot because the idiot reports eventually add up, so be careful. You can check in notifications after battle, if more than 1 person has reported you (not sure if it means used more than 1 report also) you will get a notification. From now on im going to enable replays & keep an eye on such things, even if it isn't me getting 'accused' or reported these pathetic morons need dealing with.

Karma as it is sucks.

Imo one should only be able to report when:

You get the same(+-) or more xp in that battle than the one u want to report, meaning,  u didnt suck..

You have been shoot by teammates.

I would say also that u can only report your team, let the enemys team worry with their own.

This way, Idiots who rush in  battleships and then blame the team for being killed and getting 500xp/match would not be able to ruin the experience for others, nor would the sunked foes retaliate as cowards.

Best negative karma ship i have is the Fujin. Ppl really dislike that boat.

Seriously, whats the point in this whole system? Why did they implement it? I have 5 Karma point but that doesnt do crapfor me exept maybe their more players that likes what i do then dislikes? But as someone said, you can have an awsome game and carry the team, not talking in chat at all and 3-4 enemy players can still report you even without you doing anything exept play well and bring youre Karma down?! So whats the point! I thing even perhaps only 2-3% off players see that the got an report or a cheer since you have to active go inte the little marker in the bottom after each game and click on the notification tab and then schroll down the entire list off modules and flagadd/removals to see it?

Its just another way for cowards to use technology, internet and in this case gaming to act like the cocky bully on the playground totally anonymous.

That is highly unlikely. Why should they do that?

And my experience tells me that most "losers" blame their own team and not the proficiency of their enemies.

Being reported for having sunk people might not bother me, if only the others were as keen to compliment as they are to report. I was at 3 last week then back at 1 after one battle this monday where I sunk 3 players. I reported them all not knowing who actually reported me. Yes it's plain silly. I only tell you about this to provide another example of how this nonsense can push you to do puerile things. When you're in a stupid system you can't expect people to act cleverly.

I rarely run out of reports, but I've yet to have a day where I've had compliments left to dole out.

Didn`t you call good players who play solo instead of in a divison antisocial in another thread?

Enjoy. Until someone doesn't like the ship you are driving. The target you just killed. Or you trying to get some teamwork going.

Welcome back to zero.

P.S.: You save yourself a lot of hassle if you just ignore your number. Should I really NOT say what I think of a stupid dd that suicides right into enemy ships 3 minutes into the game because of "bad karma" ???

I see this purported on the forum all the time. This thread and others. Constantly. But still my karma increases semi-steadily, and is now hovering around 50. And it's not like I'm 100% Mr Nice Guy in chat. I will call out players for doing dumb sh*t. I will however also compliment players that do well, and/or plays smart.

It's a useless mechanism, and there's always gonna be Colonelpetes abusing those reports "because they want to rate others". There's no real way to police abuse, and there's no real reason to give any tools of this kind to players in a F2P game where the biggest problem is the terrible players. If they can't play properly, can you expect them to use a complaint system properly? Negatory. Also, these Colonelpetes think their ratings are useful or necessary, where of course they are absolutely mistaken.

I consider all working hours spent on the Karma system wasted and frown on WG's lack of vision in this matter. If these complaints have an effect on the game, it's only negative. IF the system had only positive compliments, I'd totally approve. How fun is that when you take out your silly-priced bundled 60€ premium ship, do a great battle and get top xp while not minding / behaving just fine in the chat the whole match, only to find in the port "You were reported". It's just an ultimate [edited]-you at the players who have money to use or can actually play the game. => NOT A VERY GOOD BUSINESS DECISION I'D SAY

I lost 2 karma points today thanks to trollish humour in chat:bajan:  But overall it's a weird system, doesn't really give objective idea how "good person" you are as any rage kid or (humourless guy) will just report you for whatever reason:P

There is a similar system in SWToR PvP. Basically you get points for more votes. The effect is, that you give your friends a vote and then the healer. Has nothing to do with good teamplay, that is only may be 10%.

And I would not be surprised if this would be the same here. With divisions giving upvotes for themselves and downvotes for people they don't like for various reasons.

Here you can't compliment your teammates, which is kind of logical.
