Really nice topic thumbs up.

I used to play almost only CVs but after they nerfed them in each patch i eventually stopped after unlocking the Hakuryu. I just bought it not so long ago and i really like the changes, they are playable once again.

However i have a problem. I can deal with almost any kind of ships and situations but if an enemy Midway decides to kill me they will kill me i couldnt figure out how to avoid midway strikes. I use the 2-3-3 setup and the problem is even if i catch him attacking and block his fighter with my fighter

a) the remaining 1 fighter is way too weak to defend me

b) he simply pulls back, kills my fighter and then attacks the other one

Strafing is also hard to perform against competent players he just have to make 2 sharp turns and i am out of position. I try never to borderhug and to more or less follow my fleet.

What can i do? I really like the big damages of the 2-3-3 setup, is really the only option to switch to 4-2-2? Is it enjoyable?

So what low to mid tier CV should I go for as a CV noob? IJn or USN? More than likely I will never take it past tier 7 or 8.

I was in the same mind than you and I finally go for the japanese CVs.

They are much better for attacking enemy ships, and I find that playing hide & seek with enemy USN fighters to be rather interesting. I'm currently at Zuiho and will certainly stop at Hiryu.

Well, I've never yet played Carriers but intend to start soon. Lots of this is way over my head but as you said, its not intended for beginners, however, hopefully I'll come back to it soon. :great:

This is good guide, is very interesant, but i have a little problem... i can't play CV.

Just one little question by a noob player. Beacause a badly torpedoe of Mutsuki and Hatsuharu, i full boosting this AA (and guns) to duel and especialy clear the sky.

This DPS of full boost Mutsuki is 75 damage per second at 4,2 km and 7 per second for dual porpose guns at 7,2km. y Hatsu is not full upgrade but i estimed

this DPS at 85 damage per second.

I use to destroy the ennemy plane, espcecilay if this plane spot me. And i help to protect our BB. I using this range for play at visible-invisible to bait a shot. And i can destroy a TB and DB if à rush the ennemy CV.

To resume, is goood idea or bad idea againts a CV ?

Edit :if you can correct my post please, as help me to try my english, :)

Surprisingly a lot of this info is still relevant. I won't update the guide anymore because I will post a new one on my blog. I will edit a link in later, but right now it's still being worked on.
