So, who will be the new DD king for ranked?

We have the blys, the benson, and the tash. Kiev is no more so good because of HP nerf.

i didn't do so good in tash last season, because of the bigger detection range, slower turn shift, big turning circle and the fact that the ship is as big as some cruisers... So you can't evade as well salvoes as the kiev.

torps are not so crucial in ranked, and the blys guns seems to have better punch, even with the slower rate of fire, and they have excellent shooting arc.

 

so, which one will be the king this season, what do you think?

You can use tier 8 DD, so why not some of those? I can see the blys being a good DD hunter and be a pain in the [edited]for BB's by setting them on fire, especially in the hands of a good player.

If somebody is really good with torps though, the fubuki could be good. But that really depends on how good you are with torps. 

For the early ranks with tier 5-6, well my mutsuki carried me through season 2. 

But my money is on blys being a good contender.

I always felt Blyska was better than Kiev even before nerfs. i have them both.

Blyskawica as most balanced combination of torps, gun quality, hp, speed and stealth , then Benson.

For tier 7-8 I have Tashkent and Benson, and probably gonna experiment.

 

Dont like the Tashkent, too big detection range, sluggish on the rudder and too damn long to really wiggle between torps.

 do have a higher winrate on the Tash compared to the Benson (which would be my first choice) tho.

I think gonna use my Ognevoi, but after the recent nerf i might take the Farragut for tier 5-6, and not sure about tier 7-8 as my Blys, Atago and Benson are equally good for the task, so i will be changing it depending on the mood i'm in; Atago if things just needs to burn and the Benson if i want to be stealthy, and the Blys can do it all, so i'll probably play that the most.

 

So Farragut and Blyskawica is most likely for me

Cleveland is my choice for Tier V / VI, just too good at being the perfect allrounder.

 

For Tier VII / VIII it's going to be the Blyska for me, maybe might even grind the Benson for the fun of it. I think it's still going to be the Kievs, Bensons and Blyskas that perform best - the nerf to the Kiev didn't touch it's general strength too much, so I guess we'll still see a lot of those. Tashkent's weaknesses are known, Mahan is not on par with the others. IJN DDs are just too limited to torps in DD brawls, so no real option for me.

Sims got me to rank 1, so I don't think I have to change that much.

TBH even with the HP nerf the kiev is still the scariest dd for me to run into with my Benson. Overall performance, Benson is still the king for ranked.

Fubuki anyone? It has amazing carry potential and with a 6 gun broadside it is the one IJN DD that can hold it's own against the gunboats of other nations. The only thing making the Fubuki not incredibly strong is that it's rather slow and turns bad.

 

Either that or I will use Amagi/Shokaku. With how broken AA is at T7/8 I probably might go with Amagi though.

Just after getting the Benson and it is probably what I will bring to ranked this season due to its versatility.

 

Use the Fubuki last season. Worked pretty well but against some enemies torps just weren't viable. Might try it again since it has received the torpedo buff.

 

Blyskawica I think lacks stealth compared to the Benson and Fubuki to be able to compete in caps. Its torpedo armament is lacking compared to the other DDs. 

 

Kiev I recently unlocked. It is great at doing damage but it doesn't have the same capping capability. Maybe I'll take it out when I have it fully upgraded.

I personally feel like that 6 gun broadside just fires too slow to really work against those gunboats, at least against players of about equal skill. It can take out a large chunk of health from an enemy DD and launch a surprise attack due to its better stealth, but after the second salvo at the latest those enemy gunboats have swung their turrets around and can take you out with far superior rate of fire. Those surprise attacks on targets that already are badly damaged though are very deadly.

 

Fubuki is definitely a solid choice for ranked, in my opinion,but it wouldn't be my first one.

Benson, even with 4 gun it has no problem dealing with Kiev and Blytz

Fubuki is my favourite ship but also a weak destroyer, if a Fubuki meets a Benson, Kiev etc it will be sunk without trace, the only thing going for Fubuki is the torps, and the torps are difficult too, very slow and pointless firing at anything over 9km, even if the aim is precise the torps are not, you will probably still miss at that range, i normally use a blanked torpedo salvo, move aim to the left, right and centre of target, this is effective at long range (9km), Fubuki's guns are useless in a firefight, and if you mount the last module you lose one of the gun mounts. No way should Fubuki be Tier 8, i think Tier 7 is it's limit, but this is my opinion, opinions may vary

Overall I would say that the Benson had the best stats, but there is no clear winner in my opinion to be the king of DDs

Stats are stats . To get Benson or Tashkent you have to learn at least what WASD is and what is LMB for , to get Blyskavica you need to know your dad's credit card number . That is why lower ingame stats .

 

Blyskavica was able to stand against Kiev before nerf and even win , at least put enough pressure most of Kievs stayed away , and is able to fight t8 dds too . That is a fact
