Happy New Year mission

Just openend WoWs this morning and I see there are new missions. Two of them are from the manga which i'm not interested in, and the other is a Happy New Year mission.

Stage 1 is destroy 5 ships. Easy, unless the "complete in a random battle" means they have to be destroyed in a Single game. But I don't think so.

But then comes stage 2: sink 15 ships (OK) and shoot down a 100 aircraft... in four days:amazed:. I don't think I've shot down 100 aircraft in the last month... How do they expect us to fulfill this condition in four days, with tier 3 to 5 ships? Are they mad?

Yes it's the same with the Arpeggio missions. The missions are difficult for certain ships such as DDs, so to do them I would have to change ships.

A worry as if there are people that are playing to accomplish the missions in new ships it stands to reason they will not be as good as usual. For instance I pick a carrier and load out on fighters to accomplish the aircraft mission (never played CV). How am I helping my team? Also what about those people that aren't interested in the missions, they are going to be affected whether they like it or not. Tensions could be high in the near future! :(:honoring:

The shoot down aircraft missions are the only reason I have my Bogue for randoms (I play it in co op to for research and practice). Fighter load out and little damage to enemy ships but try and take down their air.

3rd one is: kill 4+ ships, win and be top three of the team, in VII to X. Reward is 1M credits.

I like the concept of the missions, but the requirements are very harsh, especially compared to the rewards you'll get for them.

Yeah, like it wouldn't already be hard enough to have team play and players doing what their ships should do.

As always, requirements taken out of the arse. A lot of ppl don't bother playing CV's.

GGWP WG, not.

If this all needs to be done in one battle, basically you only need to kill 4 ships and that it, that will be automatic win almost for sure and normally you will be in top 3. But problem is that my Colorado has not killed 4 ships never in 100 battles so far. But if one focuses on kills of low HP ships then just hitting broad sided ships, then maybe i could do it.:)

I couldnt agree moore. They should really make it so you could choose between some equall type off missions to fulfill the requirements. That is 2 Missions this weekend with the shoot down 100 airplanes thing and i never played CV and i never will so im pretty much fucked for those missions. I played 4 games in my Cleveland and in all off those i went and escorted my BBs and in all 4 games i shoot down 2 plaes total, you only get an enemy CV in like 20-30 % off all matches so this part off the mission would require pretty much 100+ games to achive?!

I rather try the 1000000 HP damage part twice instead.

Yes, that 4 frags combined with very short mission duration basically kills the whole point.

I would rather like to have something maybe harder to get, but less random, like certain number of kills, damage or fires OVERALL, not in one battle.

Totally crap missions and a totally crap Xmas and New Year event when directly compared to other WG games.

WoWP is literally giving away slots for barracks, hangers, premium consumables, equipment, XP bundles, credits, and aircraft.

WoT has rewards for gold, and a whole plethora of stuff.

WoWS gets a crappy t2 boat and some anime junk.

While the Emden is actually a decent ship, they've upped it by putting it behind a nice "wall of annoyance", by having a threefold (non-stackable) mission to obtain it. Gift? Not really, you have to work for it... Gameplay suffers, with killstealing left, right & center. Oh, but you can also buy your nice little present for an easy payment of 1500D (yes, 1500... for a Tier II Cruiser...).

WG, you so silly!

Hardly a wall of annoyance, I just played as I would and got it pretty easily. I never went out of my way or played ships I would not play normally, nor did I play any differently as I would usually play.

I like the idea that one have to use different classes to win, it makes the game more interesting and will force players to step out of their comfort zone.

This.

I was just playing some tier 5 yesterday to earn some credits, finished a game in the omaha, clicked "battle on" and went to grab a drink.  I wasn't taking any notice of the teamlist  and only put my laptop back on my lap when the battle started, it was only then I noticed I was in the emden!  I wasn't playing for it and didn't even realise I'd completed the mission so it would have been nice to just leave the piece of crap in my port and give me a notification rather than dumping me in a game with it by surprise :amazed:

I play this game for fun. I am not interested in progressing up through the tiers, for example. Tiers 4-6 are fine with me.

I am focussed on helping my team, and am consistently a solid contributor in terms of XP.

Please could you explain why I should be "forced to step out of my comfort zone".

You are not forced to do anything. If you want to play one single class only, you can freely do it. Just don't expect to complete every single mission with it tough.

I don't think I can manage the new year-challenges in just 2 days...that's really a lot to do. :(
