Some information missing in game.

Hello,

I do miss some information. I am not sure if including the information could lead to performance penalities, but maybe not.

The following information is missing in the game:

1. Torpedo acquisition range. This info should be added to port at the very least.

2. Tier information of ships in TAB screen or alternate combat mode/info... tier information on minimap would be interesting and usefull * updated *.

3. Information when hovering over ship icons at the top. Some "tool tips" could be handy... like a little pop-up indication ship type or so.

4, (Updated Now I Remember, the need is there again) When hovering over ship turning display I want to see a pop-up screen which displays: concealment range, very important information.

5. Detection range of other ships. This info should be added to port at the very least. Let's call this spotting or view range *** Updated 2 ***

*** updated ***:

6. Torpedo arming distance.

(Also the new karma feature I don't see it under profile in game ?)

I'd appreciate it much if "torpedo acquisition range" and "other ship detection range" is added ! Updated: Better wording for it: Spotting range or View Range.

Bye,

  Skybuck.

Google no good?  Here's a freebie, if you press ctrl in game you get a cursor which will bring up the info you want when you hold it over the icons on the display.

1) yes that might be kinda useful, but it's far from vital information since once you launched your torps you can't do anything about them...

2) what ghostbuster said, also - Aslain's...

3) no idea what you want here, but probably same answer as above

4) how about you first figure out what you want before telling us?

5) what?

1. Not needed, as said befofe you can't do anything about torps after launching them

2. Isn't this displayed in vanilla? If not, mods

3. Ship icons have different colors per ship type on vanilla. Or install mods

4. Destroyers - 35-42 kts, USN battleships up to and including tier 7 - 19-21 kts, over tier 7 25-30 kts, IJN BBs - 25-30 kts (except Kawachi), cruisers 30-35kts (with some exceptions), carriers USN tier 4 and 5 - 18 kts, IJN tier 4, 5 and 6 - 25 kts, the rest 30-34 kts.

5. Detection range is shown in the port, under "concealnent" drop down menu. But I agree it should be displayed in battle too.

You did over 1000 battles and you are still asking for tier information?

Yes in some screens it's missing, next time I notice it I will be more specific.

1. Is not about torpedoes being fired by you. It's about the enemy torpedoes. It's usefull to know at what range you can see them coming in. It is also usefull to decide if certain captain capabilities or upgrades are worth it or not.

5. Detection range of other ships.

What I ment with that is: At what range can my ship see other ships ? This is different per ship and is also something completely different from concealment that's for sure !

Nope. The range a ship can be spotted at is the same no matter what the spotter ship is. It's listed in port how far a ship of that type, with that captain and upgrades, it's detected at. Please note that air and ship detectability ranges are different, but both are similarly affected and basically work the same.

Are you looking for this info to be available during a match? Why cant you just look at the speeds and detection ranges of other ships from the port screen?

That kind of information is available via Mods ingame. Well, at least the standard values of ships can be seen there, i.e. detection range or torp range.

Such information is available,as has been said,in mods and Captain skills. Thus the grind. It would seem from your other posts you want everything laid on a plate before you.If that's the case you're not getting the game mechanics at all.

Grind leads to Reward,Reward leads to Satisfaction.Satisfaction leads to better gameplay.Gameplay leads to kills. etc etc

You must decide that by your experience. After doing enough battles you wont need that information anymore.

I mean, any man who is capable to learn something new doesnt need tier info. After that many battles you have to know that omaha is tier 5 and NC is tier 8.

It's too difficult to tell exact numbers... when do you notice torpedoes ? after the sound starts ringing ? When does the sound start ringing ? Sometimes I can see torpedoes before the sound start ringing.

Having exact numbers allows one to reason better about it.

Plus game mechanics change over the versions, so your experience might be worth little in that regards.

You mean I have to find mods on the internet, ? Learn how to install them ? Download them ?

Feels a bit like cheating... I don't really like it.

Do you install mods when you play monopoly ? lol.

Its part about  being a good player to know the stats of ships you face. Torpedoranges for DD and CA arent that difficult to remember expext perhaps US with their uneven values but 9kmish for a Maham for example will do anyway.

You don't get it. I want to know the spotting range of my ship. Every ship has a different spotting range. Spotting range means at what distance can my ship see the enemy...

You may want to google this because I am 100% certain it is different for every ship... perhaps it's the same per ship type... However I cannot find this information inside the game ?!

See here spotting range:

http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Battle_Mechanics_%28WoWS%29#Spotting_Mechanics

For you too:

Concealment, Detectable Ranges vs Spotting/Viewing ranges.

Two completely different concepts.

The first information is available, the second is not ?!

Though the view cone does seem to represent that somewhat... does a carrier even have a view cone ?!?

Yeah. Cheating. When you want information that is not available in the game but in mods, those mods are cheating. Clearly. Obviously.

Installing a modpack couldn't be any easier btw. If that is a challenge for you, I wonder how you manage to log into this forum.

I'm more frustrated by the lack of information of currently available secondary armament and AAA btw. That kind of information really is neccessary in a battle.

Care to clearify ? The port does show some information about secondary armament... however the way it is used for dual purpose and such is indeed not clarified... though I saw somewhere that cruisers always have dual purpose...

I'd like to know second armament/AAA arc ranges and such... not sure if my carrier shoots best from the sides or from the back/front... ? it could also be cv-specific... I did notice some have bigger guns on the back...

I meant in battle. Once your ship takes damage, you can never really tell how much of your secondaries / AAA is still intact. That kind of information could be vital for your survival in a prolonged match.

AAA has no arcs, it works as a bubble around any given ship.
