The results of your worst update is that the carrier sniping have increased and you lose more money now than you did before the last update. I have carrier Uss Essex.

Now you may wait up to a minute if you lose your fighter. The opponent is just waiting for an opportunity to carrier sniper. You have no defense during this time.

If you do not solve this, I believe that the carrier will disappear from the game.

 Carrier needed to get more fluency in the game. Otherwise it will be battleships standing still camping. 
 And no one who discovers dd

I have played three rounds since the update arrived and been sniped all three times.

iChaseGaming is a YouTuber who have talked about it. At 26:20, he takes up the whole  .

If one has attacked module has only one attack aviation group. And it is the only module to be run. Aircraftcarrier is to attack other boats. Simply having fighter module is boring to play with. As you can see in this viedon you will see that he has the same boat as me. And that his fighter shoots down my cinch even when I fly over a friend's cruiser. Oh wait, right, maybe once a week I see this strange flattop ship in a match. And here I thought they were barges or something, how silly of me.

Am I the only person who got bored with  carriers once realising that us carriers basically have to go fighter load out? 

 

I was really enjoying torp bombing, but playing with fighters and normal bombers is boring - and takes forever to generate xp

Dunno about the fighters change, in strike setups you coudn't defend yourself with fighters reliably anyway, because they just locked each other. This patch didn't really change anything in that... 

 

And fighter setups can defend themselves with the surplus fighter and barrage skill that actually got improved alot in this patch.

 

Well, its true that the hitting a sluggisg CVs is easier now for IJN TBs, thanks to the new spread.

I have enjoyed low tier INJ CV a lot more since the patch.

 

Still hating Ranger but considering free exping to lexington so I can go 2-1-1 setup and actually have fun.

Gaming with fewer CVs is a lot more rewarding.

 

And destroys the whole balance between classes...

Still hating Ranger but considering free exping to lexington so I can go 2-1-1 setup and actually have fun.

 

Dooooon't. Lexington sounds great on paper and you're invulnerable to air attacks with your T10 AA, but your planes are way too slow and fragile for T8, so it's hard actually attacking anything.

Well i wouldn't say it's destroyed, but you heavily rely on straightsailers for most of your damage, just like before. And i hate to say it, but i didn't notice much of a difference from before with the new squad death penalty. Well i can only speak about IJN Tier 9 and US Tier 6 CVs, didn't play the other ones yet. When you don't suicide rush your planes in a big AA blob, or against high Tier targets, the squads usually survive thanks to the faster speed without their payload.


 

About CV sniping, well yeah that was a thing even before this patch. The only way around this is, hiding behind your team, or a cruiser escort. You should always have your team inbetween you and the enemy CV, you also should keep your fighters in a central position, where they can react to attacks on yourself and your BB teammates in a reasonable amount of time. Cause i see a lot of CV Players let the fighters escort their strike wing. Which is imo way too risky if you dont know the position of the enemy bombers.


 

Anyways at the moment it's quite possible to get carrier games unlike some weeks ago, when i last played. So for now they are atleast some CV Players around, even though i almost never meet CVs in my other ships. :amazed:


 

What i also noticed, it's really hard to hit DDs reliable with the new IJN spread combined with the slow torps... but err they shouldn't be our main target anyways. But to be honest, against a competent BB captain and a good coordinated team you're in for a hard time. I already experienced that in some battles.


 

Good thing there are enough straightsailer BBs around, so i'm having quite a good time with my Taihou. And there is certainly a lot more of them than i expected, even in higher Tiers. :ohmy: But thanks to them i just got my first kraken unleashed.:trollface: But i can already hear the BB whine from miles away..... well let's enjoy the  IJN CV ride while it last's.

Actually, thank you wg for destroying cv play. I do mean this one. Serves them well for what they did in the beginning of open beta, that sealclubbing...

what's the reason of this that if planes die takes 2 and jpn planes 3 times more que them back in last patch it was way better i dont see any differents other thing of patch came so why the hell make this??

only see this patch kinda ruins Carriers games and if you dont play as a cv why you have to hate them i dont see they are so op or unbalance since those torpedos is quite easy to avoid mostly and well dive bombers well they should add way more change to hit% them they sucks even with 7 dive bombers squads still misses lol

it takes now longer to get another planes if your squad dies but if you save even 1 plane to your carrier you dont get long que time at new planes squad

 

"There is a time penalty for instances when an air group is completely destroyed. If a player decides to destroy the remaining aircraft in an air group to quickly launch a new one, the servicing time for that new air group will be increased two times for US aircraft and 3 times for Japanese aircraft. If a damaged air group reaches the carrier and lands on it, no penalty will be applied. "

I suspect it has to do with the tiers you play... I see plenty of carriers in tiers 4-5, where AA is weak and there are a lot of more or less defenseless victims around.

Then at tiers 6-8, AA gets very strong and carrier planes don't get stronger nearly as much, resulting in me seeing hardly any carriers at all in those tiers, a real shame, I even took the AA equipment off my Myoko because of no carriers.

And then at tiers 9 and 10, AA stagnates and carrier planes become a lot stronger again, so in the rare tier9 and 10 battles I see, carriers are around and annoying again.

 

Carrier balance is just a bit out of whack I guess.

The change to squadrons that die completely was made because it was a design error. You could deliberately kill your squad to make your planes reload faster (removing the time they need to fly back and land). This was in many ways a bad thing.

 

First off, it made "shooting down a squad" a bad thing instead of a good one, because you would actually help the carrier attack faster. Killing planes shouldn't be bad in some conditions, it should be simple - enemy planes = kill them = good. Not enemy planes = kill them = good, but leave 1 alive or = bad.

 

Secondly it ruined carrier gameplay. Not only felt it wrong to kill your own squads, but wiping out an enemy fighter squad was actually bad if you wanted to kill the carrier. Yesterday I wiped out all fighters with my 1/2/2 Essex with a well placed barrage, resulting in the enemy carrier being defenseless and easy prey to my bombers. While I hate sniping becoming so important, at least it's now actually a skill fight and not just a pure RNG "who's fighters are luckier" decision.

Then again, it also meant shooting down bombers after they attacked = helping the enemy CV deal damage. There should be no downside to attacking bombers, not like this.

 

Thirdly, planes are limited. So killing your own squads was not viable for many carriers. However, guess which carrier has so many planes it's literally impossible to run out? Right, Midway! Hakuryu can easily run out, but Midway can not. Even if you kill every squad you send in a game you STILL have planes left at the end. And I always like to see a Midway nerf when it's justified. And this one was.
