Emden is very enjoyable free premium ship for the holidays! He has better range and maneuverability than Albany and is much more fun to play. And you get the free perma camouflage on top I don't see myself spending time on it for whatever reason, but at least it's not a potato ship.

 

Edit: there seems to be an additional mission that gives your captain x3 exp for the holidays on Emden, so there.

It is indeed a nice little machines. What is strange with it and with the Dresden I found is that their secodnary battery is not working ingame. It is not even listed. Admitedly they are only 52mm cannons but that is still something if you end up fighting targets at really close range. (which often happens in low tier battles)

I poersonally think this ship is not worth the direct grind. If you do the mission on the fly, ok. But this ship is weak and inferior to most Tier1 ships (imo).

 

But it's a fine and prestigious ships and I am glad to have it.

I feel everyone has to try to achieve the free premium ships, it's just too good to pass. The mission is there just to not give it just like that, it's very easy.

It doesn't get any better than this, unless WG started giving free doubloons.

 

 

I got 300+ hits in a game with those pew-pew guns, barely any damage done however Base fire chance is 4%, with the 2 new flags and captain skill you can get it to a maximum of 9%, turning it into a fire wagon. I'm not saying you should, but it would be fun. The AP shells are rather weak, at least I didn't do much with them.

Anyway, get Emden and see for yourself I think I will play it for fun occasionally, since no other ships I have has that kind of gameplay.

Emden is a Dresden-class cruiser with permanent premium camo and some unique cosmetic features, but as far as I know identical stats.

That's not a bad thing though since the Dresden is a good tier 2.

The Emden has two guns less than the Dresden, which should give her a slightly weaker performance than the Dresden.

Since the Dresden outperforms all Tier I ships by a huge margin, I doubt the Emden is weaker than any Tier I ship.

 

Made two Co-Op battles with her for the extra mission and she bursts any Tier I ship easily.

That's not a bad thing though since the Dresden is a good tier 2.

 

The Emden, when compared to the fully upgraded Dresden, has two less guns (10 vs 12), does (a lot) less AP damage (1700 vs 2300) and is one knot slower (24 vs 25). On the plus side it has a much better turning circle (420m vs 580m).

 

Altogether I think the Dresden is the better ship, though the Emden look prettier with that premium skin. Nice chrismas gift, she looks really nice in the harbour. I am not being sarcastic btw, I really think she does.

WG rightly decided below the waterline non directional Torps have no part in game!!!the emdens torps   were like this the same as most BB up to tier 6 also had non trainable below the water line torp  tubes

Nice indeed! It was made of wood to confuse for a British cruiser that often had four stacks.
