gr0pah Players 1,168 posts 9,822 battles Report post #6 Posted December 19, 2015 (edited) So if I get this right: 1. User starts thread 2. User ridicules player for accusing said user of aim-assist 3. User posts pictures of him actually using aim-assist 4. User gets called on it 5. Mods close thread, no questions answered Ok, NOW I understand the toxicity people were referring to. The above is like a road map to PR disaster 101. Foolish buffs-nerfs and fixing sounds. They have to be kidding us! why fixing sounds insteed of fixing the real issues? and a guy is still talking about forum rules. edit: oh sorry they are also closing threads. inAbag Beta Tester 221 posts 676 battles Report post #11 Posted December 19, 2015 Man did I chose the right day to check the forums again after a long absence. What are the first two threads I see? One panic thread over how over 50% of the playerbase has already left and the other about a supertester caught with his pants down using the aim mod. The situation has been handled poorly by Ducat and the supertesters in general. Instead of an open and transparent process where with valid logic and proof the accusations of hacking were dismissed it ended in a full on defense force where critics were being slandered and belittled with a total absence of the accused himself. Hacking or not, the end result is that Ducats reputation is now in ruins.

Unneccessarily fed the silly ST-bashing that is happening atm. The defense was very poor and subjective, boiling down to "We know him" "He's a good guy" "He wouldn't do something like that". Especially for you Hans, I understand he is your friend but your defense was very unprofessional and lacked any form of objectivity. Your willingness to indulge in the flame and hater fest only made it worse and sets a bad rep for supertesters.

Yes it is important to have friends that you can trust, but they would risk my thrust if they did something illegal especially if the reason is for their own pleasure. gr0pah Players 1,168 posts 9,822 battles Report post #22 Posted December 19, 2015 I don't get the thing with the ST:s. My spontaneous reaction upon joining this forum/community is that they perform valuable service in improving this game we love(?). And for that, unpaid, service - I salute them. Then some guy I don't know, that's apparently a ST, seems to be caught blatantly using a cheat and suddenly a lot of other ST:s gang up on everyone that seems to have a problem with that. And quick as nothing it all derails into a ST vs non-ST user brouhaha. Which is super weird. OP ST-cheater(?) should just have come out with a coherent post; be it an admission of guilt, innocence, testing or what have you. Staying silent and locking thread was the worst possible outcome as I see it.
inAbag Beta Tester 221 posts 676 battles Report post #23 Posted December 19, 2015 (edited) Of course this forum is full of objectivity. I wish. Nonetheless, when such incriminating accusations are made with "evidence" that actually makes it look like it could stick. You need to slap it down with rock hard counter evidence of your own, especially as a supertester. Claims as "He's a good guy, I know him" don't qualify. What he needed to do was say: "These are the mods I use, this is where I got them from. You can check yourself. They are fully legal and 100% legit." Instead, Ducat went silent and his friends (which also happen to be supertesters) dragged along into the flame and rage fest. Now Ducat is the one who gets to pick up the broken pieces that are his reputation because of this situation. I know you meant well Hans but in this cause your loyalty to your friend did more harm than good to him. Edited December 19, 2015 by inAbag
