This was my most fun game ever: hilarity from start to finish. Also my best ever Karlsruhe game, and since it's a 3 kill Karlsruhe game, probably one of my biggest in-game achievements :p

So the obvious point to start with: the Karlsruhe is one of the most hated ships in game since every other T4 ship is better than it in some way and it just doesn't do anything well. I like a challenge, though, so I take it out sometimes anyway. In this game I got into a T6 game... and if the Karlsruhe is bad against Pheonix's and Omaha's, damn does it suck against the Cleveland and Fuso.

So I started off by accidentally driving into an island. An inauspicious start for the Mighty Karlsruhe, especially when an enemy DD rounded the corner and charged at me. He hit me with two torpedoes and left me on about 3k health, a few minutes into the game. I'd practically written the game off already, but managed to kill the DD by incapacitating his engine and steering after he just repaired a fire. Yay Karlsruhe!

So I kind of figure it's going to be dull hanging back with no health, no speed, and no range, so why not try to cap before I get killed? Straight into the cap circle when I realise I'm spotted. Meep. So I'm now in a 3k HP Karlsruhe, attracting far too much attention. I'm just congratulating myself for dodging a Fuso's salvo and setting him on fire when a Cleveland rounds the corner about 4km from me. Nicht Gut, Kapitan! One panic-salvo of Torpedoes later, though, and he's down to 2k HP too. At this point my mad Karlsruhe skillz(!) come into their own and I blast two salvoes of AP (including a Citadel) into the Cleveland who dies. Two-Kill Karlsruhe, whoop whoop!

I retreat behind an island to lose some of the heat, and by the time I emerge I'm in a 2v2 with two enemy BB's, myself, and an allied CL (Omaha, I think) who isn't on much more health than me. Rambo-style, we charge the BB's, dodging like crazy and setting fires, getting tons of hits (because the Karlsruhe does no damage). My ally sets fire to one and died: I kill the other, and am about to torpedo the first (you can see my torp aim in the background of the scorecard) when my ally's fire takes him out. I think my torpedoes would have killed him, BUT I'm not totally sure if his secondaries would've got me first, so I'm happy enough without the 4th kill

So this game had it all - kills against 3 classes of ship, Torpedoes, dodging fire from half a dozen enemies at once, ambitious rambo-style attacks, torpedoes scraping the paint, hilarious teamwork... and all of it done in Glorious Karlsruhe, god of cruisers.

I've had games I've scored more highly, I've had games I've made more kills... but this was by far the most fun I've had in WoWS so far. And I did 90% of it on <3k HP

A minor collection of lovely battles with my favorite ships or rather unpopular ones - I hope you enjoy it, I'll try to include the replays for those interested, unfortunately some "older" early replays can't be watched due to the latest patch.

 

Umikaze

A ridiculous fight I got to admit, enemy tried to act as a fleet and stick together, which made them a perfect target for torpedo spamming. I had higher damage games with the Umikaze but this was my favorite fight because I was so hopelessly outnumbered on my flank.

 

Derpski

This ship is so much fun if you get a proper matchmaking - it's a superb brawler (if it wasn't for the engines...) and it's either total mayhem or early death with it. The enemy BBs crawled up with the CV at the end of the battle, which got me in a situation where I ended up in the middle of them on close range getting worn down by secondaries, trying to get as many torps in as possible

 

Yubari

This ship was so much fun in CBT, but the changes in armor and module damage made this ship pretty dull in OBT - modules/engine die so often, you're a swimming citadel but this makes this victory so much sweeter and was one of my favorite games ever.

 

Murmansk

Murmansk stronk! What else is there to say?

 

Gnevny:

Steamrolled the enemy in this battle - first two cruisers died broadsiding me while I was happy citadelling away out of smoke. CV was a bit too aggressive, an enemy Kongo had the pleasure to get to know my torps at close range.

 

Cleveland

I still love this ship even with its odd shell arc. Always fun to play, just sad that the new armor mechanics make it way harder to tank against higher Tiers.

 

Blyskawica

If you don't have it yet and like gun DDs, buy it - it's a steal. Had so much fun with it and totally worth the 20 Euro.

 

Izumo

Okay, here's something - the Izumo is probably the most hated ship ingame besides the Karlsruhe. I can understand why it's perceived this way, but it's a decent brawler that can deal with most things besides Yamatos. The first battle was ridiculous and due to the lack of proper teamplay *cough* I went ahead and capped two zones on my own. Damage isn' outstanding but it was a really fun battle

 

This second battle I wanted to include to show you, yes it's possible to deal with Tier X ships in the Izumo, even Montanas. There's no better thing than enemies that underestimate you because you're "just" an Izumo. Wreck em!

 

Yamato

This ship is just amazing, what else is there to say? I'll never understand why people use it for sniping if you can brawl with it. The force you project plus the effect on the enemy team is amazing, you can tank so much damage with it which allows your team to wear down the enemy or go for the strategic objective. This battle here was quite intense - the enemy Fletchers sneaked into our cap behind our line which left me to deal with them - pushing into two Fletchers isn't really my most fun move, but it worked out and after they died our team managed to push the enemy Yamato into a position where I could whack a mole on his citadel

 

MM was on our side, but I was on my own vs. the Montanas and Yamato on my flank - it was a fun brawl and the enemy Yamato was too reluctant to commit, which gave me the opportunity to push their weaker BBs and CAs.

Had the most fun game in my köningsberg today. God i can realy love that ship. Managed to get two new mexico's with their pats down and torp em to davy johnes, shot up some other ships as wel maneged to get a high caliber and a confederate medal but unfortionetly i need to figure out how my new laptop takes screenshots so could not post the emideate reslut screen. Anyway tought i submit them as an entry as i did prety wel for a tier V i think. T

Really love the German cruisers... had some nice AP/HE mixture that round and also got 4 Torp hits on a Fuso without suiciding! probably that won us the round
