With the relase of the 0.5.1.3 patch Equal Speed Charlie London flags will be credited to everyone who used flags in the time period between versions 0.5.1 and 0.5.1.1 because of a malfunction in the mechanics of the flag system.

In Ranked Battles:

  • Fault Line map turned off for battles of Rank 10 and higher

  • Ocean map is now only available for battles of Rank 10 and higher
  • The likelihood of dropping-out of the Ocean map has been halved

In Random Battles:

  • The chance of getting Zone mode on the Trap and Islands of Ice maps, for high-tier battles, has been halved

System changes:

Resets for in-game tasks will now happen in regards to a specific region. For EU this will be set for 03:00 UTC. Users who enter the game on EU, NA and ASIA realms after this change is applied may notice the following artefacts during the first 24 hours after the changes are applied:

  • Users will get a chance to complete Daily Quests twice during the first 24 hours

  • Users will get a chance to receive the First Win bonus twice during the first 24 hours
  • The amount of complaints and compliments that can be given by a player will reroll twice during the first 24 hours, which means the players will get a chance to complain and appraise twice as much during the first 24 hours

Other changes:

  • By popular demand, the ability to turn on/off inverting mouse control on the vertical axis has been added to the settings (by default, inverting is off)

  • Fixed an error leading to the ships’ characteristics not being calculated at the camouflage set for visibility. Now the recalculated characteristics are displayed
  • Fixed an error causing the smoke effects from ships´ funnels, and some other effects to disappear
  • Fixed an error causing the shell tracer to disappear mid-air or close to the ship
  • Fixed an error causing the airplanes queueing for the landing, circling too far from the aircraft carrier. The landing time for several consecutive air groups has therefore decreased significantly
  • Minor changes were made in localisations

Yes, but only the first day after patch ( since they are changing what times they are reset ).

Yeah, those fixes are what I'm taking away from that... Smoke being a reliable source of speed determination is important. And fixing the tracer issue will help a lot with the atmosphere.

 

Less Zone mode? Good. Ocean removed from lower Ranked games? Good as well.

 

Overall a needed patch with a fair few fixes and changes that couldn't come soon enough.

See now, those dev guys are actually doing some work and not swilling copious amounts of vodka, nice looking patch !

Play the Faragut fort example. I need 150+ shells for 10k dmg if I fire on a BB or CA are you kidding me :). The only way to use gunboats now is to target DD's and CL's only when no other targets are left you should think of switching to anything else since you don't do any dmg. There is also a vid witha Gearing doing 400 + shots for 10k dmg. How can you tell me that theres nothing wrong.

you hitting hull or superstructure! if hull you should be doing nothing. pen issue was with BB mainly I have not realy seen a marked difference with DD's  guns or indeed any issue.

Seems like an excellent patch.

 

We get our 50% experience flags back, the zone mode appears less often, smoke/shells are properly displayed again and airplanes land properly once more.

 

Nevertheless I'm a bit apprehensive since 0.5.1 seemed like an amazing patch, but all its positive changes got overshadowed by all the new issues it brought on board.

Even with the russian DD's it mainly depends on what target you fire and you can get from 3k dmg (4 shells) to 0 dmg( superstructure 4 shells) :/

I have been, ranked battles to level 10 have been using  Gnevny (tier 5 Russion) and above polish DD

So... nothing is done regarding HE issue in upcoming v0.5.1.3 ... lets hope and wait...

Same here rank 10 got there mostly with Faragut (see http://worldofwarships.eu/en/community/accounts/507565836-Barkyro/#tab=rank/account-tab-ships-rank) but in ranked you mostly shoot other DD's CA/CL's so you wont notice that too much since you always have some dmg done by the time you start peppering BB's and other hard targets. In any case hope this gets fixed soon.

I have already noted that the effective damage of the RUS DD's (in this case talking about Tashkent/Udaloy) HE is poor at best. Did a long standing test which surprised me, but this is the wrong thread for this.

Some long overdue fixes and some sensible updates.

 

Indeed. The missing funnel smoke was always an issue when zooming in on an enemy and trying to guess speed, and sometimes direction in order to accurately aim!

HE is fine. Any change to them would make Gun Boats and Cruisers with good HE overpowered.

 

As was noted in the statistics thread there was no noticable HE effect on the averages.

Just to add my voice...

I want the HE issue fixed also.  It works fine for some of my ships (Cleveland, Gnevny, Aoba), but not on others (Königsberg, Nürnberg).
