Black Friday on EU server

Brynd told me nothing was planned for BF (or nothing that they know of)

Right. At the time the only thing I knew of for Black Friday was something for World of Tanks Blitz.

I'm not sure at this stage if that's changed, but I am sure that if it has, articles will appear.

But yes it's not as big a thing in Europe as in the U.S, with only the western shores of Europe (UK, France for example) being significantly into it.

I'm against the concept of Black Friday in the UK as it is based on an American holiday.

I'm agains the concept of Black Friday in the UK as it is based on an American holiday.

I am also not keen on wanting to have specials here for holidays no one even cares about in any way shape or form. And the only reason it's being pushed in some western countries is because of commerce. I wouldn't want WG to be pushed into doing specials because some companies are investing in changing general public attitude that that particular day is a good day to do shopping.

Saint Nicholas Day (december 6th or 19th) would be a perfect opportunity.

No, as a Dutchy I would like it to be on Sinterklaas, you know that old white guy with a beard with colored people as helpers who gives presents to kids ( ow and if you're a bad kid, the colored people will put you in their big bags and take you with them to Spain ).

----

Just some nonsense to indicate there are no real EU holidays. EU is not one culture unlike ( most of the ) USA.

Same excuses as with Halloween...... which was a festival starting in the EU..... this will be small or being realistic... nothing. USA gets it all.... when it comes to WoWs...... EU nothing as always...

WoWp nothing for anyone.. waste of time...

WoTs RU enjoy lovely specials

WoWs NA gets everything.... SEA gets lots of specials at decent prices...

What will WG actually offer EU apart from over priced [edited]?

You making a special game for us?? or you just going to mess EU around as always... your cash cows leaving.... you better get your [edited] and begin to realize that players are not staying here.... more games out.. full games out that are cheaper than your bundle rubbish....

Black Friday. The day after Thanksgiving where Americans sit down with their families and give thanks for what they have. Then next day they go beat the crap out if someone to get something they don't have.

Pretty much this I don't really how you call it just make decent special. I don't really care for Black Friday (tbh until now I didn't even know what it was) I just want decent special like other servers get!

But for what? Do you expect every culture to get their own specials on their own holidays? Like I said, there is no EU culture unlike in the USA. Name me a couple of holidays you would like specials on and I will find you countries in which that holiday doesn't mean jack but who have other important holidays which aren't shared with their neighbouring EU countries at all.

If it is just about the number of specials, yes I agree that should be roughly comparable ( just to make the community feel as appreciated on each server, but some differences can exist ). But we shouldn't make a riot for each single holiday on which we don't get something, the argument is flawed when you bring it up only at those times and only with that comment. So yes I agree, we want/should have decent specials, comparable to other servers in both amount and makeup.

But please people, don't make these topics for 'Black friday'. Make them for 'equal or comparable treatment, always' :)

The world has changed man... having the internet should have opened your eyes to this knowledge.

People from many countries have moved due to work, family or simply for a new life. Please tell me that where you live only has national and no one from other countries?

The specials should be enjoyed by everyone... not WGEU flooding the shop with special ships in over priced bundles! While other servers who enjoy all these festivals get the same special ships with options of ships alone small bundles or high priced bundles... WGEU kindly give EU one option... over priced bundle crud why?

EU holidays.. not followed in USA... but they are EU specific. n(This took 10 seconds to find on Google.... I am sure Staff at WGEU who are paid can do more research. Lets not forget that Amercia took a lot of festivals and holidays from Europe with the settlers.. so should Halloween not have been bigger if not the same celebration as they had in the US?

January:
  *  St. Anthony's Day in Spain - the patron saint of animals is celebrated by people running through fire on a horse.
  *  Masquerade - festival in Pernik, Bulgaria.
  *  Temple Bar Tradfest - traditional musicians play in every bar at this music celebration in Dublin's cultural quarter.
  *  Rijeka Carnival - a festival originally celebrated by Austrian and Hungarian aristocrats, now open for celebration to the world.
  *  Hogmanay in Edinburgh - the ultimate way to celebrate the New Year.

February:
  *  Orange Throwing at the Ivrea Carnival - this festival literally consists of throwing oranges at one another in Ivrea, Italy.
  *  Viareggio Carnaval - this is an Italian-style carnival taking place in Viareggio, Italy.
  *  Valentine's Day in Italy - the day of love is celebrated in San Valentino's hometown.

March:
  *  Jerez Festival - this is the place to be for enjoying Andalucían Flamenco and partying.
  *  Carnaval in Belgium - you will also get oranges thrown at you here.
  *  Venice Carnival - this is the biggest fancy dress celebration in the whole world. It dates back to 1268 AD.
  *   White Night in Rome - come to the Eternal city to celebrate 24 hours of light.

April:
  *  Camden Crawl - London's indie music festival
  *  Snake festival - come to Cocullo to witness statues with live snakes on them.

May:
  *  Copenhagen Carnival - this is one of Europe's biggest street parades. Lots of the performers are South American.
  *  Cannes Film Festival - most prestigious film festival in Europe where so many European, American, and other stars gather.

June:
  *  Sonar in Barcelona - the Sonar Music festival is a legendary festival of electro techno music and arts.
  *  Naked Bike Ride in Brighton- watch a naked, 3 hour bike ride on 2 wheels.
  *  Nova Rock - one of Europe's biggest music festivals with the top artists and over 100,000 people.

July:
  *  Harp Festival - Ireland's best known blind musician is celebrated.
  *  Secret Garden Party - one of London's coolest festivals.
  *  Bastille Day in Paris - come to celebrate the city of love's independence Day with parades and fireworks.

August:
  *  Semana Grande Bilbao - a week long party is held in the town of Bilbao.
  *  European Beard and Mustache Competition- famous contest of hair in Grottglie.

September:
  *  Paris Techno Party - Dance parties are going on all night in the city of love.
  *  Oktoberfest in Munich - 14 beer tents will be filling up the streets of Munich for this Beerfest.

October:
  *  Western France and Ireland have jazz festivals during this month.

November:
  *  Horn Festival - a day for remembering who has ever been cheated on.

December:
  *  Kerstbier Beer in Essen - beer festival in the town of Essen, Belgium.

So why can WGEU not arrange something on these days????

with this type of thinking its beyond me how WoWS EU still is going..... or with that type of thinking we should get some thing for ALL of the EU holidays no!

might go in to work tonight and tell them not to do a Black Friday sale as WGing says its only really for the US...... ALSO the NA sever its not only used by Americans!  AND we do have players from the US playing on EU sigh....

missed opportunity!

Actually, that advent calendar was very amusing. In a horror-movie kind of "amusing", i watched day by day as the incredibly unattractive offers alternate with blatant cash grabs to create a cornucopia of absurd.

I know what you mean, with every passing day it got worse and just when you thought "how can it possibly get any worse" they went and excelled themselves

Educated (and backed by a link) rumours on Reddit have it that the NA gets the Warspite and Nikolai for this weekend. Probably a bundle though.

I really hope we'll get some nice premium ships to buy in the EU shop too, not only on the US shop...

The Warspite is currently for sale on the russian shop ! https://ru.wargaming.net/shop/wows/vehicles/

And there is also a news about Black Friday on the russian website http://worldofwarships.ru/ru/news/action/black_friday/
