Would you like to testdrive a Premium before buying it?

Hello all,

 

I was wondering why the game does not have an option to "try before you buy" with premium ships?

It would only be fair because you are spending a fair amount of cash on a ship and it would not be nice if you end up not liking the play style or just the ship its self.

 

No clue if its even possible but does my comment/idea make any sense to others?

If you look how other games implemented Test drive. You would need a trainig room for it perhaps with some Bots. You thertainly cant do some "trials" Battles in the normal enviroment to gain exp/credits from testing something.

I don't think they want to give testdrives.... because some of the premiums, like Atlanta, are so bad that people wouldn't buy them after the test(but I need to try Atlanta again after this patch. Haven't touched it for months)... and everyone would buy only Murmansks and Tirpitzes...

Nothing like testing the ship yourself. A youtuber can have different habits, different playing style, or different ideas on how to use a ship than yourself.

 

Yes. I'd like to have the chance to try the ship before buying it.

Yea im afraid too that Tone might be an Mikasa case. Famous much loved ship but underpowered for its Tir with no redeaming feature.

My idea of Test Drive option:

 

• It's "yours" for 3h and/or 10 battles
• Each premium ship can only be tested once
• TD ship doesn't earn credits and XP
• Has pre-installed captain with 6 points which can't be swapped, auto-deleted after TD period

 

What do you think about that one? Feedback appreciated.

Not a real friend of testing in PvP mode. Even if you dont gain exp/credits there you dont lose something either and people would do stupid things they wouldt do if they would have something to lose from it.

Example: Tirpitz is in Prem Shop. 3 Joker think "hey good suff" they make new acounts and testdrive 3 Tirpitz and go of to see who can sink more ships by ramming. Really fun for the players of the Team they are on right?

testdrive would be great. In Wot i used the Public test client to test the premiums, but on the WOWs public test you don't have enough gold to buy them... and you don't have many ships to buy with gold.

I love the Atlanta. Sure. The guns are short range, but it's more of a large destroyer than a small cruiser.

The reason I'm asking is that most old school games released demos, others let you play parts/heroes/armies in controlled environments so you can see how they feel.... and if nobody is buying, you know the def's did not do there work well enough

 

Youtube is indeed nice but does not give the feel of the ship. Might be a bit out there but would you buy a car without test driving it?

Because that's basically what you're doing.

 

Again I dont know if it possible but as I see it, it works out both ways. Produce better products, sell more 

Currently I would not buy a prem ship because I dont know what it feels like to drive it in battle (even if it would only be against bots).

I dont want reviews from a pre 50% winratio player.. serious.. just laughable.

 

Check the reviews... dates.. so much wow !

 

So yes... even it is just for 2-5 matches without matches stats or credits... even when i have to buy the test matches with credits...it would be cool.

 

On the other hand.. i dont need more tier 8 prem nabs in the tier 8-10 matches.

One idea from a friend: to be able to buy a premium for a limited time for doubloons. For example have a Murmansk in your Port for a day for 300 doubloons ? A bit like premium time.

And in PvE

 

Right now it would be at least manageable, with the only high tier premiums available ingame being the Atago and Atlanta, but as soon as others are implemented in game, it would be hell. Every game would have at least 2 people with absolutely no idea how to even move their ships.

actually that's how I ended up buying Murmansk. Tested in a PT weekend, loved it, bought it. I already had an Omaha so wasn't going to bother. So test drives generate sales too.

personally no, there are enough videos, and people in the game to ask in game. ... but i don't mind. if it was for 1 game, and player gets no xp or credits. 

 

you pretty know what your play style is. so whether the ship will suit you.

Yes, such a rental system would be awesome. It could be implemented rather easily and would be available to ones convenience. 300 doubloons for a day sounds about right for a tier 5 premium, Lower tiers for less, higher tiers for more. 

However, we need more Premium ships in the game store (hint hint, Germany!?).
