Noobsplatter Players 303 posts 3,401 battles Report post #4 Posted October 27, 2015 The problem is your gtx 970, it`s gimped. It`s a 4gb card that "does not work" once the load goes over 3,5gb. And for that reason only, I got the gtx980 so I don`t have to suffer like that (I like to run games in 4k on my tv )

Yea, I have Gigabyte. Edited October 27, 2015 by KptStrzyga
Gudako Beta Tester 182 posts 4,553 battles Report post #6 Posted October 27, 2015 My GTX 970 runs the game just fine, personally. I'm not sure which one it is anymore. Gigabyte or whatever, how do I tell again?

Yea, I have Gigabyte. Gigabyte isn't quilty to this 3,5GB memory "limit". That part belongs fully to Nvidia. Besides cutting processing unit blocks from full GTX980 those cuts also reach into GPU's memory controllers and only 3,5GB can be accessed at full bandwidth and rest can be accessed only through lot slower connection. But instead of being honest and selling it as 3,5 GB +0,5 GB card they of course advertise it as full 4 GB card. I actually remember when Nvidia was all for honesty and openness and open APIs... Which was about 15 years ago and before they got big and cocky.
