Just 2 question to the guys who complain about the bundling. Do you buy doubloon packages once in a while or maybe even on a more or less regular basis? And what do you spend it on (Premium time? In game stuff?)?

I usually pick up premium time around x-mas/newyear because WG usually gives out discounts. Not only are the larger premium time options cheaper if you calculate the price you pay for each premium day, the added discount makes it worthwile. Since 2012 I started buying the 360 day premium time each december.

I still have alot of doubloons leftover from the Warspite and Tirpitz bundle, only to be used on stock ships to skip to a second hull or somthing similair. I got an Amagi coming up soon, not looking forward to its stock hull.

Fair enough that the Russians get a discount due to the crappy state of their economy, and fair enough that the EU have to pay for that discount.

WHAT?!!!

What about Central european countries? Here the economical state is even worse than i Russia....just to let you know...and we have EU prices...

Thanks for the answers, appreciate it. I just wanted to get an impression on why and how ppl spend money on this game. As far as i can see it, the account unfication issues may play a serious role in here, since parts of the economies are shared, while others are not.

My thinking was, that most will use the doubloons to buy premium time. But since this can be bought by WoT gold too, the actual need of doubloons in WoWs is much much less than it appears to be.

Dont get me wrong, but I am always wondering about that strong believe in decisions made by companys. They are still human beeings, that tend to do mistakes and just because they are running a buisness and have been very successful with that, does not mean all of their decisions are good or are leading in a healty direction for the company. Take a look on the market. There are always even big companys failing hard sometimes.

This bundle thing is hardly bothering me anymore. The last months I would have loved to spend something to get a new toy to play with. And like a lot of you, I ended up beeing frustrated of those bundle "offers". But I just came to the conclusion that nobody forces me to buy anything and I can spend my money somewhere else, where I get the feeling I am getting more value for it or I am not forced to buy more than what I want.

For me the bundles are not working. I would have bought some stand alone ships for sure, maybe some lower tier ships even as presents for friends, but instead I didnt spend anything. I somehow got tired of raging about those bundles or that there still is no unification of gold throughout the accounts ( yes I know, it is comming, but not in the near future and yet we still dont get to hear a reason for that). I will play the game as long as I am having fun with it and spend my money on other games and if I will get bored by the ships I got, I will move on to other games. And all this raging in the forum is partly due to the fact of the communication, that is sometimes not even existing. ( no offence here, the guys we get to hear from, from time to time are the messengers). And WG, if you need someone to take care of the EU marketing and communication. Just send me a good offer ;)

Oh, but i agree with you. The point is that this is nothing new from them. They did the same on World of Tanks (even tho it wasn't this extreme) and they are still there. Bundles per se didn't change their playerbase, if anything competition did with War Thunder (No big success there tho) and Armored Warfare (so far in the hype period of time, we'll see in some months).

We think about it like this but the majority of people (which i remind you don't even get in the forum, they do get in the premium shop you can be sure of it) is still happy to pay such prices.

Another line of thought is that, being a free to play game, they can still afford to have these kind of models because what brings money on them is not the old player but the new ones. And the games are all built and based around a healthy change of players every now and then. Would they really change a bundle when said bundle annoys a player but 2-3 more buy it instead and are happy about it? I don't think so

This whole "RU gets lower prices because the economy is poor" excuse (to put it lightly) is rather stupid.Russia is not poor, and its economy isn't failing, quite the contrary. Many more central and eastern European countries have it much worse. I bought a few doubloons, and was prepared to send way more, but seeing all these "special" offers and bundles, just deflated my enthusiasm.  My do have extra income that I would gladly spend on this game, because I like it, and it is fun (for me at least), now I'll just spend it somewhere else.

My 0.02$.

"We have been listening to you"

Add russian bias to the mix and ST aproved and we've got the full "take it from the as* EU" bundle.  No surprise no one on the EU staff coment on this since they can't do anything to stop WG greedy practices.

I fear the day Tone is released cause then I'm gonna have a mental breakdown.

You clearly don't know where you are talking about!  We got nothing to do with the marketing policy of WG. Keep us out of the discusion of bundles. We never approved (or disaproved) bundles as it is not our business.

Talking about Bias ! You clearly show some !

That is a fair point, and one I did not think of. Sorry for that, that was my ignorance speaking.

However, and this is my main point, how can the Russian market be the most important one if the EU market is financing it?

No, not part of the job - you need community sector guys for that: coordinators and managers.

All my feedback goet to lead mod and it is exclusively about warnings, sanctions and bans.

Well, as an active WG employee of sorts could you at least tell us where the hell our community team are??? Because they're certainly not here and they've certainly not given us a respectable answer on this.

Do you really think a senior moderator will post 'ectar is xxxx, ph3lan is xxxyz, MrConway is xxxxyy', you know it won't happen.

Also, it's sunday, you can't expect official replies now as no one is on working hours at the office. If we get a reply, it's from someone doing so in their free time. And considering the WG bashing which has been going on lately, be it at least partially excusable, I can imagine people not feeling like spending their free time 'answering' angry mob threads.

edit: to clarify, I expect an official reply on this tomorrow at best.

Sheer number of players? If I remember correctly, RU server cluster is at least 5 times as populated as the EU server. Well, in WoT that is. I'm sure this means a substantial revenue potential. EU is more like the icing on the cake, i.e. most revenue per player, but total revenue? I doubt it.

Just 2 question to the guys who complain about the bundling. Do you buy doubloon packages once in a while or maybe even on a more or less regular basis? And what do you spend it on (Premium time? In game stuff?)?

1. I'm never buying any premium, nor play sub-based games, even the best. The pressure to play is total killjoy for me.

2. Consumables and exchanging gold for free xp/credits are totally dumb way to burn my money, so that's a no also.

3. What i DO want to spent my money on are the premium ships. Did that in WoT and i've regretted it mildly only two times (Su100Y and AT 15, although they buffed AT later on so it went into "fairly ok" category).

4. So i bought the gold in CBT here, to test the premiums, as the price for them is way bigger than in WoT and i wanted to check them before. You see already how wrong is to MAKE PLAYERS BUY GOLD TO TEST THE SHIPS IN CLOSED BETA? But i thought, after reading about 20 premiums by the time of release "hey, that won't be wasted cash". Now, over a half year later, i STILL HAVE THAT DAMN GOLD. And with every damn bundle only release i'm more and more pissed at those damn greedy lying bastards. I still enjoy the game, but it's stretching now, especially combined by insane high tier economy.

WHAT THE BLOODY FOCK?! BUNDLE AGAIN?!!! AGAIIIIIN?!

Seriously, I had hope. It's russian, it's a tier 4, it was a bad battleship... I thought it would come for 15€ max.

Just, I have no more hopes. I think about quiting right now. Why must it be always like this? Just, mods are promising us different offers and else... But no, we're condamned to those. That sadden me to a point you wouldn't understand.

I made up my mind. I only bought stuff once for this game, that was a gift for my lil brother. (Sims for Beta access).

Never bought anything else since. I'm willing to; but for a fair price. So I never ever had the occasion to spend money. So I threw  it in other games.

I was looking foward to Tone. But now I know, it will be a bundle. 120% sure. So I'm not looking foward anything in this Focking] store.

AND THAT IS NOT WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN. A shop must make custommers want to look at it, but when I go in the said store, IT MAKES ME CRY!!

Yea, that's sad as hell. On multiple levels.

Well everyone let us not forget this post by ectar http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/34978-polish-destroyer-to-be-released-in-november/page__pid__643466#entry643466

And see what bundle the polish DD will come in.

Well, if this is taken literally, he took the bet that the Błyskawica bundle would not be 45+ euro. Get ready your 44.99 :sceptic:

People should take a step back and kill their torches - Supertesters, Mods and even the community team don't make the prices or the packages. I'm sure the message of unhappy forum users has been forwarded - but the only thing that'll make WG overthink their sales policy - that is do not buy the bundles. Stop blaming the wrong people and if you're not happy with the way you're treated - stop acting like children and stomp, just stop spending money for stuff you don't actually want to buy. I've been happy what I've seen with the Imperator Nikolai and considered buying it - but not as a bundle, I just want the ship. Now they got 0 Euros instead of 10-15 Euros. The more people act like that, the faster WG is going to react because it's not forum warrior posts that pay their bills, but premium stuff that we buy.

Usual crap-bundle. Sad, really - i like that ship. I want it. Regular tier 4 ships are already way more expensive than tier 4 whateverjibbers in other WG titles. But i would buy it. Alone. Keep your pixles WG.

From the vids I've checked out it looks like a beast to be honest. Guns do massive damage and there's loads of them.

Low profile so harder to hit when spamming HE.

Jethro_Grey, are we now allowed to break out the pitchforkes and torches?

Just asking you know.

I still remember that day when Ishizuchi was released... with no bundle, I wonder if flags not being in the game had anything to do with it.

Hmmmm...

Well, this is where it gets difficult.

On the one hand, it's another Bundle, though it is halfway decent this time it's still a Bundle.

To bloat the price.

Which is an annoying policy.

And everybody hates it.

And unlike RU we get only the Bundle.

Which is even more annoying.

On the other hand, i bought it. The 30€ i spend...i did not do it without hesitation. It's a Tier IV after all, and despite the fact that i consider myself a collector, i had to do some thinking in regards of how much money i gonna spend in the future and if i gonna buy bundles again ( apart from Tirpitz as i want that ship so badly).

I can't really say "go and torch 'em" as i bought the package, so i say instead, go ahead and do whatever you think you have to do.

Just do it in a manner, that abides the (Forum)rules and doesn't make you look like angry birds kids, 'cause WG ( or anybody else for that matter) is not gonna listen to raging folks.

And now excuse me please fellas, i got some grinding to do. :izmena:

Best part about Ishizuchi is that she is still a shop only...

I've bought several premiums (Warspite, Tirpitz) but this is the end of the road for me with GreedGaming's let's-fleece-the-EU-players YOU CANNOT JUST BUY THE SHIP YOU WANT, YOU MUST BUY THE BUNDLES YOU DON'T WANT policy. I really want this ship but I refuse to buy it like this; GG just got no money from me, instead of what they would certainly have got from me for doing the sane thing and letting me buy the ship alone.

Once more, for the hard of thinking - i.e. whoever it is at GG who keeps forcing these very unpopular bundles on the EU playerbase: we do not want these bundles. Please explain to us why the RU players get to buy the ship alone, whereas we are denied that option?

Yes but that is WoT; here it seems like the RU server might have 1,5 as many players as the EU one, and then I think it is a different ballgame. Naturally I do not have the sales numbers, but I do have the number of times premium ships have been in battle on  both servers. If we assume that the ships somewhat are played the same nimber of times per bought item it is quite interesting:

Tirpitz has been played 10K times on the RU server, and 32K times on the EU one. Warspite have 7K plays on RU, and 13K on EU. A clear domination of the EU server.

Now you say "Yeah but those are EU ships, what about the Russian ones?"

Murmansk 47K vs 43K

Grem 16K vs 16K

Indeed, Murmansk have a slight advantage for the RU server, but nothing like what the Tirp or even Trollspite have for the EU server. I would say that it is hard to draw the conclusion that the RU server generates a lot more based on this open info. I do not know the prices all these premiums been sold for on both servers, but if I had to guess I would guess that the EU server BOTH have most premium ship sold AND higherst price per ship.

PS. As for game bias.... On tiers 1-4 and 7-9 Soviet shps have the highest win rate on the EU server. On tier 5-6 they only occupy the second place...

OK so I admit, I took the plunge and bought the bundle, I really wanted the ship as I have all the prior Russian prems, looked at the dubloons and worked out that I would immediately buy 2 months Premium time as I would have bought these monthly anyway at £7.50 each, factor in port slor at 300 gold, the additional 500 gold and the flags by my reckoning JUST by using dubs for Premium time the ship cost me £6 so yes its a bit wrong but not entirely terrible financially.. Well for me anyway.. Will post 1sr gameplay video for me when I get back from walking dogs....

Just don't be tempted to keep dubs in port... Spend them straight away I now have 84 days Premium time which will do me till Xmas when wifey buys me 12 months...  It's actually not such a bad deal 2 months Premium is £15, Ichyzuchi was £8 Alone in shop, so its priced about the same... Not great but works as long as you don't waste the dubs on XP conversion and spend it on Premium immediately lol
