THATS what I think. You've obviously watched the highly accurate and realistic film 'Battleship'. For your information, if you dd that in real life, one of two things would happen, 1. There would be a loud crunch and half your bow would be ripped off or.... 2. NOTHING because anchors are only designed to be used in SHALLOW WATER and so the chain would not be long enough for it to even touch the bottom.

simonmd Players 801 posts 1,673 battles Report post #8 Posted October 17, 2015 (edited) It's already way too arcade like, these are SHIPS, one of the entire points of them is they DONT stop quickly, otherwise, you'd be dodging salvos all the time and it would be ridiculous. If you want to play a shooting game and stop quickly, try WoT. Edited October 17, 2015 by simonmd
[SCRUB] Kenliero Players 2,478 posts 11,195 battles Report post #9 Posted October 17, 2015 How about adding Turboboost, in a way that you can collect them from maps, and it gives you instant doublespeed for 30 seconds... oh and you could also RAM rowboats and get credits from doing so? How about PITS, where you could instarepair all damage, reload all condumables, recover all planes, and choose to teleport to your desired destination?
[ST-EU] OldGrandad Supertester 3,404 posts 35,711 battles Report post #10 Posted October 17, 2015 Ok, to humour the OP. You can have your 'insta-stop anchor', but to offset that in order for the crew to get the anchor back up you are still for 1 minute, there that is ok is it not? [OILUP] Prinzessin_Eugen Weekend Tester 34 posts 4,280 battles Report post #14 Posted October 17, 2015 Well... If I recall correctly that maneuver was actually used by a ship: IJN Akitsushima (flying boat tender). She successfully used it to dodge torpedoes. But then again, she only had a displacement of a little over 4k tons. Anything bigger would rip itself apart I think. So I don't think it should be a feature because of that and an anchor is mostly used to keep a ship in place after it has decelerated.

So I don't think it should be a feature because of that and an anchor is mostly used to keep a ship in place after it has decelerated. Perhaps it should also be remembered that she was an auxiliary vessel, not a warship, that her maximum speed was 19 knots; and the only reference about her doing such a maneuver is in the KanColle wiki, where it nonetheless says that it's not 100% sure that it actually happened...
