I've seen this today:

And I must be wrong thinking that all "specials" are only x2. Please tell me there will be other offers (like discounts or something) and the "x2" is only the undisclosed part of them.

 

Because if ALL specials will be the +x0.5 in the 1st win and the change of the name special, I don't know how to put it politely but I will try, We dont need a calendar for this, just make an announce of "x2 weekends" all month, without them being "specials", because is something special is repeated 6 times (5 in calendar and the last one of this weekend) is not special, is a regular thing, and we really dont need the fancy names of each weekend.

 

In my mother language there is a say "Para este viaje no se necesitan alforjas" (For this trip we dont need sanddlebags). And, if I thank the calendar, I also think the rather poor specialness, The big fuzz for just a x0.5 weekends.

 

And to make TWO news about the same is...incredible. http://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/special/sse-october/ news to link to other news, Is hard to try to see the work behind this and say is good from a player perspective. And is harder when you compare servers.

 

 

This happen all the time, it seems WG EU want people to stay always in a poorer state than other servers. Is well know the economy in the game is so much flawed in high tiers for the regular player, and people dont play them so much or have a hard time to get the credits to advance a little more in tier. And still the only specials are experience related (well, if a x0.5 makes so much difference). There billions things you could do to make people relax in the credit farming. I dont know disscounts in the less played branches, or in the ones related to the special, or in a few ships! or make ships gain more creds, or...I don't know,

 

I'm not played for doing that, but WG EU are, and seems they only work in the behind scenes related things, because PR is bad. There is no other word to describe the PR, terrible, bad, awful, disgusting. And the worst part....is EASY to do a good PR with a game like this, I'm my honest opinion, there have to be lazyness in that regard, I thought the "fail launch" in EU was an error that will be ficed with something in the future, but it seems we continue with this PR dissaster. 

 

I really hope this specials rewards (the +x0.5 part) is just the undisclosed part and each will have another part that will be revealed when we close on those dates. Otherwise...well, the above say it perfectly clear (and I hope polite enough not to let staff defend behind a victimism role like it happen in the past).

This is just #@&*# ridiculous. Why in the bloody hell World of Warships receives ONLY a 2x XP(x3 at most, if they feel very generous) on first win instead of 1.5x on major events, while World of Tanks get:

1. Tank discounts,
2. Slot discounts,
3. Equipment discounts,
4. Consumables discounts,
5. Crew training discounts,
6. Barracks discounts,
7. x5 XP on first win of the day,
8. x2 XP on EVERY win,
9. Quests for free tanks,
10. ...and many, many more.

 

If WG keeps up with this blatant disrespect of players, I'm just going to quit and find something else. And everybody will start doing it too.

Well, to paraphrase one member of WG staff- October itself is an event 

 

There sure will be more then that x2 stuff-  2 new nations (minibranches, but, hey, i look forward to both Sovitet DD and Ger CA), then premium Polish  DD and Soviet BB and another IJN Ca should hit the shop soonTM

Yeah I'd have to agree. While I don't object to having X2 on a weekend, dressing it up as an event seems a bit ott. It's not even like it's the old battlefield/halo "double xp weekend" since its +0.5% xp on the first battle weekend.

 

It won't stop me playing (I enjoy the game, and don't really care if there are events or not), but it's probably going to annoy a lot of people. Kind of like marking an item "massive savings!" and then having it 5p cheaper. People will still buy it anyway but now be annoyed you've tried to claim it's something extra special.

 

Personally the suggestion of certain lines cheaper is always good, have X2 xp and for one special have US BB 30% cheaper, next special a different line etc

If you compare the two games, you have to wait for another year.

Well if they don't want to give away ships or discount gold items (slots etc), then there's plenty more stuff they can do.

Of the top of my head:

-X2 xp

-X2 credits

-Ships/modules cheaper

-Double xp on captains (ship earns normal xp, captain skills up faster)

- discount on certain ships e.g. carriers/ijn/tier 5's

-earn an extra 20k credits for sinking a US ship in an IJN and vice versa

-remove the limit of "once per 24 hours" for flag acquisition

-no repair bills.

 

There's plenty more that wouldn't affect their actual money income

Spare a thought for WG EU - they are finally getting sorted and putting up a forthcoming event list (rather than a just-in-time or late post, or no notice at all) so you cannot blame them for not having enough energy left to think of more than x2 XP on first win at weekends. Afterall, it is so much different than the x1.5 XP we get on first wins all the time!

 

(I think there might be some sarcasm in my post...)

First thing when I saw some specials were planned for October, I thought "Hell, it's about time".

Then I saw what those "specials" are. And I thought it mst be some no very funny joke.

Then I remembered its WG EU doing this.

Edit; My spidey sense is telling me that someone is going to come in and tell us how we should not expect giveaways and discounts on stuffs and that making a special event for the sake of special events is not a good thing. And that special discounts and giveaways are something that is being discussed and possibly being planned.

Lately, I've found watching QuickyBaby's WoT streams more fun than playing WoWs.  There just isn't a lot of variety in WoWs and though I haven't really played WoT in two years, I'm starting to feel like going back to it might be more fun than this.  Granted, it's an older, more developed game, but WoT specials, even during early release, had some meat on them.

 

Then again, maybe I miss WoT for what it was two years ago, not what it is now...  *shrug*

I'm pretty sure that they will fill it with more stuff on a later date. Phalan just said, some cool events are coming in October and Ectar promised on Reddit, that Marblehead contest is coming to EU shortly.

Event: occurrence, especially one of some importance

 

Some thoughts i had while reading the Headline about what could be done and what i as a player would appreciate and provides maybe some interesting challenges.

 

Igromir: Lets party with us and enjoy the Premium shop sale, special ships and good discounts

 

Battle of Cape Esperance: 3x XP for the first win, Destroy 10 US ships with japanese ships and vice versa and get 1000 free XP for each.

or how about; we the users can select a special Battle only with US and IJN Destroyers and Cruisers, where the US side has to defend the Base. 

 

Battle of Moon Sound: Release of German and Russian tech tree. All Russian and German ships get 1,5x XP for the whole weekend.

 

Halloween: Consumables on sale and all the stuff a Captain needs. 

 

I would say these are Events and Special where i feel sorry when i missed them. 2xp for the first win, not so. 

Not enough Staff ? Not enough Budget ? No green light from Russia ? 

What is going on guys ?
